The owner is very involved. The staff friendly and helpful. Prices acceptable. Atmosphere lovely. One of the children got hurt on the playground and was speedily assisted with some ice and TLC.

Love Afroboer! Food & service is really great! Waiters are attentive. Cakes are delicious. Food never dissapoints.
Can highly recommend the carrot cake, biltong carpaccio and the cha-cha pan

We were pleasantly surprised with the honesty we experienced today at Afriboer. One of the toasted buns came later than the others. Although the food was very tasty, we did have to wait for the 5th person's dish. When our plates were taken away, the waitress admitted that they had forgotten about the 5th dish and that as a sign of their regret we could eat a free piece of cake. The cheesecake on the house was excellent. We just felt we had to share it. Thank you very much Afriboer

This is usually my favorite brunch/lunch spot. However my pulled pork sandwich was cold, watery and tasteless, the bottom bun was soaked. The only nice part was the top slice of the panini. The chicken livers was also watery and overcooked but then again the flat bread was excellent. It's almost as if the ingredients were microwaved. I know this is not the standard for food quality from Afro-boer. I'm not sure what happened today and I for sure hope that this is not the standard going forward.

Calm atmosphere.
Unbelievable amount of flies. We just ate our food at home.
Waited 40 minutes for 2 Paninis and very very expensive water, 440ml water for R32 a bottle.

The service was really slow. Not great. And it wasn't that busy. Loads of flies. The portion was a bit small for the price in my opinion and it didn't taste great either. All in all a disappointing experience.

Met an old friend for lunch in October.the beautiful garden scenery transported me to Alice in Wonderland. The menu was playful and yet true to their name Afro-boer.
Go alone and watch the mother hen walk the chicks across the garden while you enjoy a slice of something

A beautiful setting. Friendly staff. Great cafe food with choice of bantings and various health dishes. Lovely grounds if you feel like a picnic but must buy from tuck shop. No bringing your own. Great place.

Lovely and peaceful, both the restaurant and the takeaway spot. My new favourite place in Pretoria!

Very disappointed. Phone earlier to make a booking for a birthday celebration. Guy that answer said they are not taking reservations before lunch, we can just come and get a table.
Arrived and then the guy at the front door said we should have made a reservation and can only help after lunch.
Same place, two different messages.
Really disappointed.

Afroboer is a beautiful restaurant. Set in the midst of a bustling city but you feel like you are in another world. The food is gorgeous and best coffee. Treat yourself to the most delicious cake. A must visit for young and old

I had a bad experience, waiters are at best subpar and unorganized. Waited 1 hour for a cuppacino that never came!

Afro-Boer was my saving grace during lockdown. Even though the restaurant was closed my mom and I regularly bought our favourite Afro-boer scrumptious croissants and delightful cappuccino and sat in the blissful garden, far away from covid blues. Thank you for always being there with delightful meals and tasty baked goodies. You are the best!

Lovely venue, friendly staff, food and drinks special, presented a bit different - I liked that. Play area for kids, but had to walk out of and around the restaurant to reach the play area as the gate between te restaurant and play area was closed. (Didn't understand why?) Only negative - food and drinks could have been warmer. Also went to the deli, gardens and picnic area absolutely lovely, interesting products to buy, but the staff did not know their products at all. A lot of the products had no price tags and the staff also did not know the prices of the products. Waited a long time in a que to pay. Will try the deli next time for a picnic though.

Not great.
The quality food is pretty good to be honest. The experience was very disappointing however. We waited an eternity just to order our coffee, and then waited forever for the actual coffee. 40min after arriving I had to go look for someone to try to place an order for food.
AfroBoer is adertised as a gtrat place to take kids - until you ask for a high chair, then they don't have a single one in the restaurant. Shocking. Not one!? !
Then you wait another 40min for your food to arrive, only for the order to be incorrect.
The waiters are unattentive, I want to even say non-existent.
Very disappointing, although looking at the other reviews it should have been to be expected. Shame on me, I should have read the reviews before going there

Really a true beauty. The Garden was lovely. Very clean and neat. Unfortunately the only downfall was that we had to wait more than an hour for our meals. We Ordered sandwiches and when they came they were cold. But other than that. Service was Great. Staff were very friendly.

Lovely setting. Service was slow, but communication good. Well priced but some dishes were quite ordinary (fish cakes). Cakes looked really delicious
