Altitude Bar - Time Square

Went into Rockets before the show at Sun Bet Arena. For the busier events I would recommend a booking as all establishments tend to be full.

For this event, the restaurant had a smaller menu with limited choices. This was done so that they could prepare the food timeously.

For my main, I had a chicken Rosti. This was a chicken filet served on a bed of sweet potato with Thai sweet chili sauce. On top, there was cream cheese and avocado. The falvour off the combination worked. The portion size was a bit on the smaller side.

For dessert, i chose the waffle. The waffle was presented nicely. It came with vanilla ice cream, which was a bit on the small side for the portion of waffle. The actual waffle was a bit thin and dense. I personally prefer the waffle to be light and fluffy.

The food was delivered timeously. The aircon was supposedly on, and we were seated below, so with a full venue, the effect was not felt. The waitor staff also did not check on the table. I once ordered a drink and had to remind the waitor after 15 minutes, and then he brought it.

The food was fairly delicious, the vibe was on point. It was not crowded either. The place is quite hidden but when you find it you know you have found a gem.we had a great time

Had some Lasagna, food presentation was good but I had to search for the meat. Lots of sauce was overly tomato based. Definitely not worth the price. The ambience is great but the tables very unpractical and my partner was way to far to have a decent discussion. The table next to me was loud and to close for comfort. I must admit for the price on the menu I expected more.

Absolutely pathetic service. Staff have an attitude problem, don’t make you feel very welcomed on arrival and can often be found twiddling their thumbs or scrolling on their phones when needing service.

I brought an international friend for sundowners on a Sunday afternoon and the experience was actually embarrassing.

The venue wasn’t busy at all, so as we arrived we seated ourselves on the couches next to the bar - not the cordoned off section on the periphery overlooking Menlyn which looks like an obvious VIP section.

We were then instructed, quite rudely, to vacate the seating area after already being served as we had not ordered any bottles.

The venue was probably at 10% capacity and the fact that there was no consideration to accommodate us given the circumstances shows how the South African hospitality industry has fallen in disrepute.

If I could rate this experience 0 stars I would.

Waiters have prefencial customers you have to call them for service for long some upu call for service they promise to come but disappear their seafood platter is too fried n dry

I was here for the NYE and the vibe was great. Loved the atmosphere and enjoyed the line up. It was packed but I believe that the waiters and bartenders did their best to keep up, though it was a long wait sometimes to get a drink. Didn't get to order food on this particular day but have tasted the food before and it was great and well presented.

The service was extremely professional and the food was delicious. Will definitely visit again soon

Best place ive been in since covid

The place has a good vibe, you end up spending your whole salary on drinks. The stuff we're very friendly nd there were social distancing with keeps use safe from each other

Currently trading as Rockets, nice atmosphere, food is very nice, I enjoyed the Ribstar pizza,
Though the meals dont come with starch and starch must be ordered separately and the waiters dont share that, but all in a all, it was a nice setting and experience.

It's actually called Rockets now.
Great vibe, lovely cocktails, nice food.

Okay wow! I don't even know where to start. I just came back from the place now and I feel like going back. The place doesn't deserve to be closed. Lockdown is crazy shem

This is it. Top Tier of restaurants around town. Love how this place evolves throughout the season. Now its called Rockets (no longer Altitude). I bet the owner is an aspired astronaut. Best food, music, people, location. It keeps you marveled and excited. You have to go!

This is by far, my favourite hang out. It's super sexy and vibrant. The staff are really good. It was an all round great experience.

Nice spot to hang out. I am not South African but I love their music. Very good ambiance at Rockets. Service is good. Should make improvement in food. I recommend this place for drinks and party!

The ambiance, deco, setting, food and music was on point. Fully enjoyed my birthday celebration will definitely come again.

The waiter wasn't nice to us until he realized our bill was substantial, we spent R8800, but we could have spent more had he given us a great service. He judged us because we weren't dressed to the nines, we were coming from a chilled farmers market vibe.
