Baluchi Restaurant reviews
22 YOUR FOOD IS NOT AUTHENTIC INDIAN FOOD! I know Indian food. The Bismillah in Fordsburg serves Indian food! The bismillah in Auckland park serves Indian food. Your tandoori chicken had red food colouring, it dyed my hands. Your beef Dali was a basic stew that anyone could easily make and way better! Your naan was roti! There was nothing appetising about the food.
NO VALUE FOR MONEY WHATSOEVER!
I will never eat here ever again. Their chicken in their butter chicken was gooey and didn't taste right and gave my partner food poisoning. I phoned to let them know so they don't make the whole town sick, the manageress took my number and told me she would call me back.that was 14 Feb 2022. Today is 23 Feb and i havent heard from them.
Very disappointed. Was so excited for a nice curry on a rainy day, so we ordered through Mr D. Firstly, part of my order didn't even arrive. What did arrive was cold and tasteless. One of the dishes was a vindaloo and not even that had a hint of chilli in it! In the other dish, the paneer felt like chewing on an eraser. Very unhappy.
Terrible I don't recommend it waited 1 hour and the food was awful my butter chicken looked like water chicken
Worse experience ever as from any indian Resturant. Myself and my 2 kids got food poisoning after eating food from this restaurant. Not recommended at all.
So lock down really tool it's toll on all, and especially the restaurants. We ordered our food at 5 and paid for it. Got confirmation that food will be delivered at 6. At 6: 30 we phoned and the gentle on the other side could not confirm where our order was and even if it was processed. Promised to call back. At 6: 45 I phoned again as still no reply was received. Person on the other side acted as if I did not call just 10 minutes earlier. I got in my car and drove there.two ladies waiting both equally annoyed and disappointed was also arguing to get there food. No one really gave much attention and looked concerned about the situation and the inconvenience caused. One gent, probably the owner was in and out the kitchen not even wearing a mask. When paying restaurant prices one expect a little more. R270 for two butter chicken and nan.a seriously terrible experience and cold food.
If theye suffer during the lock down, then I say "suffer in silence".
Called to place an order, asked whether they have prawn 65 on the menu, an guy with an indian accent said no and put the phone down on me whilst i was trying to place another order. I called back immediately to ask him why he put the phone down on me, he said i spoke to someone else, even though it was the same voice.and that it was not him and then he put the phone down on me again.dont support this ridiculous business.
Food was Average.the waitor was amazing - she was the only reason one would stay - barman in outside area was clueless! And while there with our families he decided to turn off the lights, and turn the place into a night club - lol well tried at least.there were 4 other people in the place besides our table of 7 and he made sire we left soon after the transformation
Odred the Lamb and beef Korma. Food was tasty, but we literally only got 5 small cubes of Lamb. For the price, it's not good value.
Goan fish curry was delish
Chicken tikka wings were average
Baluchi Mocktail was good
One waiter for the whole floor, not even a hello, nothing, almost like we were a bother. There wasn’t even anyone seating patrons. Management otherwise occupied. No service. When asking questions waiter just walks off. All around shoddy service for a wannabe fine dining restaurant. Food took well over an hour to come
They are a Halal restaurant. Their food tastes great. The drinks are amazing. The service is good. The price is very reasonable. Definitely recommend it
Last nights order:
Lamb biryani - meat was too tough and dry not like lamb
Beef roti roll- perfect? , soft meat and great flavour
Deboned chicken - good taste, enjoyed
Sambal- too little juice
Overall we enjoyed the food and portions are good.
The restaurant is so pretty. Their food portions are a good size and the food tastes really delicious. Will definitely be back for more yummy goodness
This is definitely a hidden gem and Halaal.
The restaurant has amazing decor that will make you feel like royalty!
What I loved about this restaurant is that the waiters were super clued up on the menu and happy to give recommendations based on our pallet.
The food is absolutely delicious and will leave you feeling satisfied.
If you in the mood I do suggest you try out the pani puri, mango lassi and the tikka fish as well.
Really just go to enjoy this authentic eastern cuisine.
Food was delicious. It was filling and my family and I were full after awhile. We ordered a Butter Chicken, Goan Fish Curry, Butter Naan, Cheese Naan and Aloo Paratha, and even had a Kiwi, Mint and Cucumber cooling crush (absolutely delicious) and as for desserts we had the Burfee and Paan Ice Cream. The flavours were unusual but had a wonderful taste. When we asked for the food to be mild, they made it exactly as we asked and this was something that I was impressed by.
To top it all off, the owner Asima was wonderful. She was friendly, helpful and attended to us often. The waiter James was hands-on and came to inform us about the meal and made sure we were fine and happy with our meals.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a fusion of tastes and also great and professional service.
This is a beautiful restaurant with delicious food and great service. We had the tandoori chicken and garlic naan, as well as the Bombay crush. The chips were fresh, hot and salted perfectly, the naan crisp and light and chicken basted in a fragrant marinade. The chicken is on the dry side so if you prefer it saucy, definitely request extra sauce.
They are not priced badly at all for the quality of the food, location and ambiance.
The service from the owner/manager and our waiter Andile was fantastic.
We also appreciated the clean bathrooms and that the music playing was not intrusive.
Excellent place, excellent setup, yummy and tasty food. Friendly and good staff. Manager and owner hands on. Recommend it to any place
This is the most brilliant restaurant I've ever been to! The owner is lovely and accommodating! She made Amirah's 21st so special, OUT OF HER OWN initiative. The food is incredible! Big portions, awesome taste and excellent value for money! We'll definitely be back
Great food with even greater service! Staff was very accommodating to our needs & food - absolutely delicious!
Almost a year ago we did a bad review because of the amount of meat in our meal. Today we withdraw that review. We have lunch left for tomorrow and can not wait as the meal was so yummy. We have learnt to order the naan bread to enjoy the sauce. But besides the free samoosas (which had a better texture and flavour than I have ever had) we had succulent prawns and tender lamb both dishes with flavours words can’t describe. I can’t wait for lunch tomorrow. We did mr delivery yet the food was warm and delicious fantastic awesome. Thank you Baluchi
