Banjaara Bedfordview reviews
10I was skeptical to dine here because of such a low rating but the food was delicious, the service was great and the place was very clean the naan butter chicken (1st time eating this) was delicious
2023031 Simply shocking. Ordered and collected 2 take-away meals. Butter chicken did not have rice with it. Lamb Briyani caused violent food poisoning the whole night. Definitely won't go back.
There were many things wrong with my experience here.
Firstly, the food was very overpriced for the portions served.
The food itself was tasteless. I paid R120 for bland paneer served in child-sized portions.
The menus itself were sticky and the place has a false image of looking good. From the outside, the restaurant looks really good. When you walk inside, you start to notice that the tables and chairs are chipped and falling apart. Even the plates are very scratched.
The highlight of the evening was finding hair in my food. The manager laughed it off. I thought this was odd but I notice this is not the only review where they do not take customers seriously.
This place has seriously gone downhill. The amount of customers present is a good indication of what you're getting when you come here.
There are better Indian restaurants in the area.
Genuinely disappointed at the customer service and the quality of the food at this Banjaara Branch. This branch is giving a poor reputation to Banjaara.
First. I enter and ask to see the menu. The manager points to a set of paper menu's which I assume are the takeaway menu's. I take one, and decide I'm going to have a Veg Thali (R100 special on this menu).
I sit down. The waiter hands me a sit-down menu, and I say I don't need it, I'll have the Veg Thali.
The food came. And it was okay, fairly bland. There's an expectation of spice when you eat at an Indian restaurant. This had very little if any. More food colouring than anything else.
Then came the bill. R120 for the Veg Thali. I asked why the difference, and for the first time I was told that the sitdown menu is more expensive than the takeaway. I complained naturally, and the waiter asked the manager who said "Charge them R120".
The lack of customer empathy is disappointing. I work at Bedford centre, and thus could have been bring business to this establishment. But their lack of care, has made it clear that they don't want to be in business.
I'm from Durban land of the best bunny chows. And I can tell the lamb bunny I had from Banjaara was nothing less than on par with some of the best bunny's I've had in Durban.
Had a take-way from there, and apart from being a bit pricey the medium curries were HOT - food was tasty but the experience spoilt by being overly hot for medium dish.
Picked up an order for 4 Biriyani, 1 Bunny Chow and 1 Korma on Sunday 21.11.2021 and the chicken used was drum sticks which was tough and contained cartilage and sinews. Normally the chicken is very tender pieces of breast meat. This is the first time we have had a bad experience over many years of supporting Banjaara at Bedford.
Banjaara is my absolute favourite Indian restaurant, the North Indian flavours are fantastic. This is hands down the best Indian restaurant for me!
Great lunch.
Good service.
Sad to see how quiet it is.especially for such quality curries
