Bosco Ristorante Italiano reviews
32 We went in for dessert and stayed for over an hour. The hospitality was incredible.
I will definitely be going back.
FIRST time to visit and certainly lives up to its reputation! I had prawns, so amazingly done! The owner and staff were perfect and gracious hosts
This strip mall restaurant seems a bit tired. Perhaps a nighttime visit with lights and music might have improved my rating. But, during the day, it's a bit sad.
The entrance is completely blocked by random tables where even sadder housewives sit and play candy crush and drink wine.
The focaccia was very thin based and just OK.
I don't think I will visit this establishment again.
While visiting from USA it was suggested I try the restaurant called Bosco. It was a Monday night and for me quite cold outside. I went to Bosco and found it to be a warm and inviting atmosphere. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and she was a delight, providing historical information of the restaurant and providing explanation of the restaurant. I couldn’t get enough it was so good I asked for the recipe for the sauce used on my entree. I definitely will stop again before I depart for home. Thank you for a wonderful relaxing dinner. Bosco’s you are exceptional and your staff is tops.
I asked the waiter about the main calamari portion whilst waiting for my boyfriend. I didnt place an order. He brought me the calamari, and I told them that I hadn't ordered it as I was still waiting for my boyfriend. The manager asked me exactly what I had said to the waiter and I told her what I had said. The sides weren't even discussed. The calamari arrived before my boyfriend had even arrived. They told me that they would keep it In the warmer for me, I was not happy with that response as I knew it would be dried out, and I hadnt placed an order in the first place. They kept it for an hour and a half. The calamari was not nice, it was dried out. They even forgot to bring me an accompanying sauce. The manager asked me if it was "ok" in a very sarcastic manner as soon as it was given to me before I'd even tasted it. I ate it as I felt like I couldnt complain. Not happy at all. Won't be going back.
Food is awesome. I tried chicken pasta and it was worth for money. I enjoyed the service, staff is generous.
First and foremost I am DISGUSTED by the way the owner treats her patrons.
It started with me enquiring as to the amount of meat I was served with my pasta.
I was met with arrogance by the owner, Hanlee. However the meal was amended begrudgingly.
Furthermore the Waitress who was serving our table was flat out rude which my son addressed.
At which point the owner, Hanlee attacked my son verbally. Not to mention removing his bowl from the table without permission and purposefully bumping his head with it.
They were severely short staffed which I am not surprised about as I have heard from tge previous staff that there tips were not paid over
What a lovely Italian restaurant. Good food. Good friendly efficient service. We were a table of 18 people, yet the freindly staff managed to serve us all well and good. We even got the owner chef lady to sing for us, which gave me goosebumps. Highly recommended!
We attended the Johnathan Roxmouth performance last night and it was amazing. The food and drink beforehand was devine and Johnathan's performance was amazing.
What I love about Bosco is the warmth. It feels like I am coming home to a home cooked meal. The food and the people make this place. Make the effort and come and eat here.
There are mixed reviews but I've been going here for something like 20 years whenever I'm in SA and to those who complain I suspect you've had a bad night or dealing with personal issues. The staff are incredible, the previous owners were incredible and the current lady owner is unbelievably amazing.
Wonderful cosy ambience. Hands-on owner. Knowledgeable and stable waitering team. Delicious pasta.
Its really is not nice for me to have to write this review but its necessary to express the sheer level of disappointment in our experience last night. To give this context we had been to Bosco once before at the end of last year and were thoroughly happy and impressed. Based on that we decided this year to book there for Valentines day. We were extremely excited for the evening as I work extensive hours in a demanding job and we have very little opportunity to go out just myself and my wife. We organised a babysitter and managed to get everything sorted out to enjoy a rare special evening. From this point forward it all goes wrong. We were greeted at the door and shown to our table straight away, the restaurant was fully booked which we were happy to see for the business owner. A waitress came over and after 3 attempts to pick a wine that they actually had available on the wine list she went and brought the bottle to us. To say that the wine was unceremoniously dumped on the table would be an understatement and she simply walked away. I was a bit taken aback but no problem I opened it and poured it myself shrugging it off as she is swamped with orders. That was the last time we saw her for over an hour. All the tables on the veranda area were left with no service at all, there were 2 runners who sadly looked like they were lost, couldn’t take any orders and just ended up making patrons more frustrated than anything else. 1 waitress for an entire restaurant on one of the busiest nights of the year in the industry. Take into account we hadn’t really eaten all day in anticipation of dining out we quite literally could not wait any further. It was quite clear that even if we somehow managed to place an order the wait from the kitchen would be excessive so in the end we took the decision to rather settle up for the wine and go somewhere else where we would be served. On the way out the owner provided an excuse that the rest of the wait staff failed to show up but unfortunately that cannot be the customers issue and in the time frame a plan could have been made and a better outcome achieved for all involved. Many people around us for the first 30-45 minutes weren’t even able to order drinks so we were certainly not the only people let down. We have always been a supporter of local small businesses but in this instance we wont return to Bosco at any time in the future.
They have fantastic special events/ musical evenings. Was just at the most fabulous Drag show last night, enjoyable 2 course fixed menu and great atmosphere! Will recommend people book for these evenings
Excellent restaurant with a lovely, warm and friendly atmosphere, especially when there is live music. Great home cooked Italian dushes
I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years. Amazing food that NEVER disappoints. Especially the Bosco pasta and Chocolate moose desert. Lovely warm atmosphere. Great service.
The pizza is fast, delicious, and you can tell that they use fresh ingredients. Best Pizza I've had in a long time
I cannot stay away from this place. Lots of people mention the lovely atmosphere and great wines, but I'm teetotal and ambivalent to "atmosphere". To entertain me, one thing is needed: Good food. Bosco delivers magnificently. I keep coming back for the superb quality, texture and absolute paradise of flavours. I hope it never changes!
Twice I have been turned back from this restaurant, first I was told I must make a booking, today I was told there's a private function. But the restaurant was not even full.
