Brasserie de Paris reviews
44 If I had to sum up this restaurant in two words. Those two words would be Almost Perfection.
The Service was excellent, all the waiters were polite and well trained. I was pleasantly surprised with Maitre d, he was extremely polite and knowledgeable when it came to questions about the food in wine. The food was excellent but there was slight technical errors.
The Scallops were slightly undercooked but still flavourful. The Cauliflower Mousse that came with the Scallops was excellent. The portion size was under par, because of that I was feeling cheated with the starter but that was all made with the Main.
I had the pleasure of having there brilliant Duck Wellington. The Duck was cooked perfectly to my order. The Spinach completed the duck perfectly and the cherry glaze completed with the luxardo Cherries made brought the dish to a new level of deliciousness. The dish was plated beautifully, enough to make a grown man cry.
My last dish was the Apple Tart. It was extraordinary. I’ve made a few apple tarts and nothing came close to it. The only thing I couldn’t quite understand is the Shortbread Crum. It came too late to the party and felt a bit out of place but adding new textures which I appreciated.
My night was completed with a couple Petit Fours and really made my night.
Except for those slight errors it was a night to remember and a night to relive
4 out of 5 stars.
Well Done.
Another stunning meal at Brasserie. Time stood still as we celebrated a birthday in quiet and elegant surroundings. Service was discreet and efficient as always.
Exceptional attention to detail. Fabulous fine dining experience. They went above and beyond to make our wedding anniversary absolutely memorable.
I took my fiancé here for his birthday and I am so glad that I did. The food was delicious, the service friendly, speedy and helpful and the atmosphere and decor was relaxed and sophisticated. I will definitely be back. We both loved it here
Relaxed atmosphere, fantastic service and amazing food! Awesome experience, served by Denver and a lovely personalised surprise for my birthday.
What an amazing birthday lunch experience. They went out of their way to make it specials. All food and drink was devine. Our waiter Denver was an absolute star.
Highly recommended.
To me it was a bit dissapointing. We never saw a host. We had a willing and friendly waitress. The wine list is rather limited and the Cederberg wine we selected in the end was out of stock. We have a reasonable idea what to expect from French cuicine and in my opinion this was not great. I'm sorry but I expected more.
Unmistakably French set in a beautifully designed house and garden.
Food was fantastic, we celebrated our anniversary and did not expect special attention but certainly got treated well.
In all, good food, nice venue and great staff. Will be back.
Our first sitting restaurant experience in 5 months, venue is great, service is excellent, Siniša truly went out of his way and food was just heavenly
Fantastic food and wine selection. Excellent service, including personal attention from the chef.
In a city full of commercial restaurants, this is really a little piece of culinary heaven. The setting is a perfect match for the restaurant, providing an intimate space to enjoy the authentic French creations. Each menu item was really bursting with flavor, the French onion soup and salted Caramel souffle are definitely not to be missed! This is a must visit if you are a true gourmand =)
What a wonderful place! Excellent food and service. Stunning architecture and a magical atmosphere. The staff is amazing - very friendly and willing to assist with anything. We got married there and everything was superb. I cannot recommend this place enough!
What a lovely place. The service was great. The wine was great we chose a French Cote du Rhone 2016. Lunch is a set Menu. We shared. A firm favourite French Onion cheesy soup. Such a beautiful full bodied flavour. Hot fresh bread rolls. A platter with duck liver parfait, 2 terrines, smoked duck. Extremely tasty. Great textures and flavours. Mains was Fillet of Beef cooked to perfection on garlic fresh green beans with a lovely Bernaise sause and pom fritte. The desserts were fabulous. Meringue hazelnut mousse spun sugar lemon curd and lemon gel. What a great meal. The owners Dad was an architect so a very intersting space. Wine cellar. Two dining areas. A gorgeous little roof top garden. Loved this. Thank you for taking us on a tour. Great service.
A hidden fine dining gem in Pretoria! If only my rating could be Michelin stars. Love that diner get to meet the chef.
We took some Swiss friends for this tremendous, unforgettable experience! We tried the 5 course pairing and were blown away beyond expectation! Thank you for everyone evolved to make this evening onforgettable! I will defenitely recommend this cosy restaurant!
Not a big fan of fine dining, nice friendly place, chef came out to us to explain dishes and best way to combine bites for best experience
Excellent cuisine, fine dining
Friendly, warm service, and a quiet ambience which inspires good conversation!
Thank goodness I wasn't paying. It is not cheap! But once you realise that you are getting an authentic French haute cuisine experience in a unique architectural environment, the price becomes easier to swallow. Go here to impress.
We had a lovely evening until it came time to pay. The card machine was not working and the evening really went downhill from there. I had international visitors and the only suggestion from the "absent" manager was that they should organise to pay by EFT. I really would have thought that an upmarket restaurant would have a better ability to deal with this issue. Management need to re-think their processes for when a card machine does not function. You cannot have a front of house who does not have a back up plan. We were essentially "stuck" in the restaurant for more than 30 minutes with the management not having any other ideas than asking for an EFT.
Fortunately we had enough cash between us to pay the bill.
A really nice evening spoiled by bad management. I will not be returning soon. Take lots of cash with you.especially if you do not bank in South Africa.
