Restaurant Cafe Grenadine. reviews
33No stars…I was just there for my first time today, doing some work. Asked the waiter to give me a minute before I order. The manger comes up and starts accusing me of using the facilities and leaving it all messy. Note this is my first time at this restaurant and I’ve only been inside for a few minutes. This is outrageous, I don’t deserve to be treated like that.
I decided to give the restaurant another chance after three years. The service is still slow from the kitchen, so be prepared to wait for a long time. Waiters are friendly.
I am not going back there. I got sick from the food I had there for breakfast (the only food I had today) took it back and asked for a refund. The (I am assuming) owner/manager, and the chef, was very rude about the whole sitiation. Aggressive and argumentative. The owner/manager did give me a refund, after an argument about me not having proof that it was their food that had made me sick. Both men had zero humility and understanding. How they handled the situation was shocking. Mistakes happen, food industry is difficult. I would've looked past it and gone back - but not anymore.
Terrible quality of food
Very cheap and many things left out for example left out onions lettuce in burger bread in breakfast
I went there for a quick cup of coffee. It is a Tuesdays morning, hardly any people there. I got there, I was seated and handed a menu and then was never attended to again. I sat there being ignored by the waiters who were chatting amongst themselves. Nobody glanced in my direction so I just got up and left. As I was leaving one of the ladies asked me if I was ok, I explained the situation to her but she made no attempt to provide me with some service. They did not feel like attending to me today, they just let me walk away.
Food was average but not special, in that sense a bit over prized. I would return to this venue (it is in a good location with lots of potential for good business, decent atmosphere), was it not for the VERY disappointing service. With out of town friends around the table, on a quiet Saturday afternoon, we were stuck waiting for the menus, taking of our order, and lastly (worst!) bringing out the food. Arrived cold. Some guests had to leave, without eating. The waiter struggled to manage the process, and NO MANAGER in sight. Would be great to see real improvement in future. Come on guys! NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
Service super slow and they were not even busy.
The bread had some green stuff on it.looked like avo.
I have been visiting the restaurant for many years and the service has been very good, but a week ago I went for one of their smoothy and they gave me a melted watery smoothy. I looked as if someone ordered it and they didn't serve it but kept it aside for someone who will order the same thing. I complained the waiter said it was like that because they have used too much and what they didn't know is that I am food specialist that know abd understand how consistency of the smoothy should look like.
Use to be one of the best coffee shops in the area, but its not the same anymore. Food was blant, meat was dry. Very disappointing
Ordered a toasted chicken sandwich with chips to take away, what a sloppy mess, mixed with something like sandwich spread to water it down, didn't even taste like chicken and chips not fabulous, price not near worth it at R65. Tired interior, chairs worn, needs an updated interior. Smokers outside with smoke wafting into the restaurant, most unpleasant.
They advertise bread that has barely any rye as rye bread. Breakfast is generally overpriced here. Otherwise coffee is good, freezos too.
Very lax Covid measures. Waiter barely wears his mask and keeps fiddling with his face. Didn't even sign in the register. Food is pretty good though.
Don't disappoint with processed polony style ham on your Croissant Parisienne menu item, it deserves proper ham. It tasted bad as well
Been going here for years. Lovely little place. Menu could have a bit more variety but very good overall,
The food was alright.we were annoyed that the waitress didn't advise us of the daily specials and we had already ordered our meals once we had turned our heads to see a poster of specials on the wall. We would have preferred to order one of the specials.
We had a birthday tea at Grenadine's a week ago: service was attentive and the scones and jam delicious like always. Recommended
One cannot go wrong to visit this restaurant. Friendly waiters excellent service and solid consistently well prepared meals.
Good ambiance with variety of food for breakfast, brunch or lunch, good service, big enough to keep social distancing, cosy outdoor seating.
Unassumingly great menu. Lots of options for non-meat eaters. Food is great & portions are generous.
Very nice place, the vibe is really cool.
The waiters are very friendly.
I ordered one of the sandwiches - a chicken one - with a passion fruit crush, delicious.
