Calisto's Portuguese Restaurant Rosebank reviews
46Food is often under cooked when they are very busy, they just rush orders. We’ve got food poisoning at this resturant twice (Cresta and Rosebank branch). I would not recommend eating here. The health department definitely needs to visit this resturant.
OMG i Love this Restaurant. They always gives me favours by Secreat sauce of BBQ as thats my favorite and it brings my appetite
Thank you All
Phenomenal experience! The chicken is cooked to perfection.
The staff was polite and made fabulous recommendations.
Thank you!
Just ordered a full chicken, chips and side wings, Must say one of my worst experience ever, Firstly, the chicken was dry, with thick oil layer at the base of the packet. Definitely not a Portuguese styled chicken.
The chips was hard (under fried).
When you order online, the quality of the food should not be any different than sitting in at a Callisto restaurant, people are paying the same price.
Very disappointed. For a meal of R450.72, could expect better.
Regards
Beautiful evening with freinds celebrating a birthday. Service was excellent and so was the food!
Excellent food and service, for the busiest time on a Saturday night we got our food in 5 minutes. Well done, keep it up.
Wow - exceptional service even more exceptional food - after a harrowing 1hour 20 minutes of being stuck in the lift of the rosebank zone - what a welcoming experience - the young man who turned out to be the owner of the establishment pulled out the stops and ensured that we were treated like royalty - need more business people with people skills - well done
Their menu has literally everything. We ordered their famous chicken, philly steak, and T-bone. It was a delicious meal. Must come back again for more.
I was at the restaurant on the 26th and myself and my friends ordered food and when the food arrived in the warmer, we found a piece of hair in the food.
I was utterly disgusted and than the manager still had the nerve to charge for the drinks.
I was told to provide my number and that the owner is going to call me.its been a week now and I haven't received a call.
I mean is this the type of services you give you towards you customers.
I guess its all about quantity and not quality.
Consistently good food. Waiters are friendly and service is excellent. Highly recommend Calistos Rosebank. Great options for starters, mains and desserts.
All round wonderful experience.
From the initial welcome at reception until the time we left service was great.
Food was divine.
Best food ever. The waiter named Blessing is awesome. The service is great, food is amazing. Overall great experience. Standards never drop
A restaurant that doesn’t serve alcohol simply cannot be referred to as ‘Portuguese’ in any sense. It’s like Crème Caramel without the caramel.
We had a lovely day at Calisto's. The potions are generous and delicious. Will definitely be returning,
Food arrived from uber eats, all the sauce ran into the packet due to top cover melting. Further more the meat was tough and full of fat and I ended up throwing it away. Disgusted as I have eating at Calistos many times
They get very busy but you cannot reserve a table. That means that if you want to go on a busy week day or public holiday you need to be there half an hour earlier than you’d like to eat.
Covid regulations are not adhered to. I was there today and every single table was full and people were queuing to come in.
(2 Jan 2022 - adjusted level 1 regulations say that 50% of venue capacity is the limit)
No one sanitised me upon entering. While the stand is there - no one is monitoring or ensuring that people are sanitised.
Other than that the food is delicious. Unfortunately the portion size of the sides are very small and the complementary rolls extremely stale (I actually put it back in the basket. I couldn’t eat it)
Highly disappointed by this branch.
Food 4/5
Service 3/5
Covid regulations 0/5
Always an amazing experience dining here. Well trained staff with best service and most importantly the Food is divine and always perfectly prepared.
Words cannot describe how amazing the food was. 10 out of 10! Definitely going back before I leave jozi! Please open one in Cape Town!
BTW your staff service spot on. I literally have nothing to complain about my waiter was so sweet! Fast on her feet! Love it!
Terrible experience overall. Quite surprisingly, for a Calistos, the chicken was undercooked and almost still raw. I had to leave half my meal. They thought factoring the Tip amount into the bill and calling it a fair compensation will work! To think you still wanted me to leave a tip? ! Shocking, disgusting, distasteful.
