De Kloof Restaurant reviews
45Just dont waste your time attending the oyster festival unless it's for breakfast. Sold out by midday with the rugby still to follow at 3.
Absolute Kak. And the owner is a double douche bag.
Will not recommend this place dry and flaccid. Biltong has more flavor.
Horrible experience. Will not recommend this restaurant to anyone, the website and social media pages are utterly misleading. Stay away!
We made a reservation for a special birthday. When wanting to order fillet, it was not delivered that day! After ordering our food, we waited for an hour, no apologies. It was a cold night and the "windows" were opened on request of other guests sitting in their winter jackets. Our opinion was not asked. Portions very small. No recognition (desert or some gesture) for the birtday man. A very disappointing evening.
Burgers were cold, buns were straight from the fridge. I have been here few times and there is no consistency.
This place remains one of the top fine dining restaurants in Pretoria. Never fails to impress. Each course is a multifaceted work of art.
Nice view and pleasant setting in a golf estate. Expansive wine selection. Food took a looonnnngggg time and we were only a party of five.
Opulence, aesthetically pleasing, and food cooked to the highest degree. Waiters are exceptionally professional, it’s peaceful and quiet, and the views are lovely! Definitely a place to check out.
Had such a lovely experience at De Kloof Restaurant. Excellent service accompanied by impeccable food. Would definitely visit again.
Stunning food. Really weird service. Loved the cheesecake! A must try for culinary fanatics.
Definitely in the top 3 fine dining restaurants! Foodies you'll have to come here - this one simply can't be missed!
The venue is cosy with a serene view. The food was delicious and the service great. We sat outside and later they were able to close the area off, to ensure more warmth at the tables. Sufficient and safe parking. Definitely worth a visit.
Lovely venue, beautiful views, nice Manager, friendly staff, 5 star menu and beautifully presented too, But very expensive drinks so the bill can go up quite quickly. You have to check what you order in terms of drinks vs what’s charged as well…. It’s either the waiters charge extra or there was a price change which was not updated on the menu.
Great venue & decor to fit. Amazing service great quality and quantity food the Malfa pudding definitely the best I've ever had, will definitely go back
The food is is classified as fine dining without a doubt it is fine dining, but really not wow most of the stuff on the plate is not eatable and the portions are extremely small. The desserts were also so disappointing never lived up to the elaborate description. The decor and ambience also need updating.
Sublime evening, the elegant dishes match the aesthetic of this beautiful restaurant, surrounded by beautiful views.
Excellent service, one of the best restaurants in Pretoria
De Kloof has a lot going for it. It has a beautiful view, friendly staff and most of the food was really top notch. The six course set menu is worth the effort, if only to enjoy the delicious mushroom soup. From a food perspective there were a couple of niggles. Our ravioli was a bit uncooked, the ostrich tasted exactly like liver, and white chocolate desert was way too sweet. (Admittedly, I don't like white chocolate at all, and believe it shouldn't be allowed to be called chocolate if it does not contain cacao.)
For a restaurant of its caliber and price range it was also somewhat disappointing that the tablecloths were stained and frayed, many of the plates were chipped, and the sound system or powersupply of the device it was plugged into continuously connected and disconnected, weaving the system tones into the music, which was incredibly annoying.
We were there for a wine pairing event and we really enjoyed the evening. The food was great! Nice and intimate.
Had our wedding here and it was phenomenal! Staff is friendly, hands-on and they go the extra mile.
