Doppio Zero Sandton City reviews
38Asked for scrambled eggs, I received paoched eggs. Plus, I personally do not like half cooked eggs, and this is what I got.
First time dining there, never eaten on that side of the mall.
It was nice and different, also not busy like Mandela Square. I liked it
There was oil in my friends chips but overall the service was very good and the place was aesthetically pleasing
I highly recommend asking for seating at the upper level, the views are lovely. The food and service is, as always, top notch.
Had a lovely chicken salad bowl there as well as a chai latte. Food was delicious and so was the drink. Seated in the far corner with lovely view of the Sandton area. Service was ok, very busy morning and the waiter seemed a bit overwhelmed but other than that it was great.
A home away from home this sums up the Doppio Zero in Sandton city. The warmth and welcoming that one feels as they enter into the restaurant is overwhelming. The restaurant is clean with the smell of freshly baked pastry and coffee beans in the background. The staff will habe you feel like you are part of the family and truly go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The food was excellent and scrumptious. As a fussy foodie i was left with nothing but praise for the chef! Love the fact at during the cold winter they have smal warm winter blankets that one uses whilst enjoying your meal - like i said "HOMELY"
Accidentally got so much black pepper into my doppio salad cause the container wasnt closed properly and they offered me a new one
It's Sunday, and whilst it's a busy time, quality should never be compromised. I've had the Oxtail & poached eggs for a late breakfast and whilst I've had it before and certainly loved it. It was bitterly disappointing this time round
The waiters weren't attentive, ordered a mojito that had too much lemon and mint, both the waiters were rude. The waiter didn't even bother to ask what was wrong with my drink. Would have given it half a star if i could, rosebank services is way better
Went for a quick brunch at Doppio Zero. It was a beautiful overcast day so it wasn't too hot to sit on the top floor. The decor reminds me of a quaint European outdoor setting. The food and drinks are not bad, but not outstanding either. It really is just your average brunch place.
Had great service. Enjoyed my meal and the view. Loved the umbrellas hanging from the roof. Added colour to my day.
Often have office events there, always enjoyable and try something new everytime. Central and easy access as it is on Rivonia Road entrance
I love them, but you should request packaging your own takeaway. I saw a waitress taking a burger from a plate to a takeaway with her hands. She had taken it from a customer downstairs and walked past us, without washing her hands, she packed it. Imagine.even without Covid, i would not eat that.
Experience was just fine, not too good for meetings because of loud music. Waiters are little bit slow or maybe they were under stuffed.
The food is lovely and reasonably priced for a restaurant in the Sandton area. The aesthetic is beautiful and very different, feels like you're on holiday out of the country actually, and I haven't seen another doppio that looks like this. However, the service is quite slow. I went there on a Friday evening and it wasn't full at all but it took forever to be served. We were given menus and left hanging for a while until we complained and only then did things seem to get better and even the 'better' was quite slow compared to the general service usually given at restaurants even at their busiest. Other than that, nice spot.
This is a hangout for school kids on a Friday and most likely underage drinking.
Maybe I'm just old. However, the last two times I visited this spot on a Friday evening same-same. This is no longer a place to take smaller kids!
The poke bowl was disgusting. I asked a waitress exchange rice for green leafs. But it cames without rice and leafs. The sauce was just oil. Cucumber wasn’t fresh. It’s a big different from Sunninghill experience where the poke was amazing
Always a great experience. The waiters shouldn't take so long to check on their customers though.
Happy to have found a Doppio Zero in the Mall of Africa! The food is really good and I love the ambience. It was super busy and therefore we had to wait a bit, but otherwise a great experience.
Great energy and vibe when you enter. Went on a date and sat upstairs. Besides a few groups of noisy teenagers, it was a nice visit.
The food was absolutely lovely. My partner and I really enjoyed our food selections. The pricing is somewhat decent and standard for the average dine-in restaurant. Portion sizes were satisfying, and wait staff really kind and helpful.
All in all I would visit again. Seems like a great spot for all types of visits i.e. A date, family meal, single outing, or group gathering.
