DR DALENE BARNARD Kloof Mediclinic reviews
35 Good day Kloof mediclinic.
Once again I would like to give a 5 star rating for the exceptional service I received from labour ward
.from the admission to the discharge it was a seamless process. The nurses were attentive and reacted quickly to all requests all of them was caring and gave wonderful advise. The food was great and everything clean and neat. Thank you for changing the sheets every morning.
Kind regards
Marike
I had my first baby via scheduled c section.
I was very unprepared but the staff guided me through everything. They explained everything I needed to know and after my 3 day stay I was fully equipped to handle my newborn at home.
Staff took over when things became too much and did so very gracefully.
They were amazingly good at their jobs and I felt very safe, secure and listened to.
Amazing care, and if I do have another baby will definitely be returning to Mediclinic Kloof.
Wonderful experience.
I need to change my review. Although the engagement process was initially slow due to an issue with bed bookings, I had a change in view after we received such excellent and caring service from the nursing staff. Well done!
The best services in Hospital care I have ever witnessed. From emergency, admission, treatment and after treatment.
You send everyone the same reply but from the past reviews the complaints are similar and have not been addressed. Certain staff treated my sister deplorably post operation and this happened in the last 3 days. Such staff should not be in the nursing profession.
I could talk about the parking attendants who force sick people to park miles away from the entrance even though there is parking nearby. Or the doctors who want to hospitalize or cut in a way that I don't know but it feels like they are incentivized to do so. Or that the pharmacists openly disagree with what doctors recommend. Or the nurses that ignore or even turn down alarming monitoring devices.
There are 2 doctors in this hospital of the 10ish odd I've met that are knowledgeable and trustworthy. The rest of the staff I've had to deal with seem to cause more issues than they solve.
There are reasons to be hospitalized sure and if you find a doctor who isn't affiliated with a hospital you can make sure you are only hospitalized for those reasons. But I wouldn't want to be admitted here again.
Dr Hugo at the emergency rooms is extremely unprofessional and should consider a career in pathology and performing autopsies. She has no bedside manner and a simple question from the patient clearly angered her. She has no patience and wants to dictate to patients and not deal with their concerns. She is condescending and has a bad attitude. After walking away and indicating that she would deal with the patient later, she went to her colleagues and discussed the patient. Do not recommend this facility at all.
Fix the parking meters please! They have not worked properly for at least a year. Today I went to 3 parking meters to pay for parking at a hospital. Not on!
In response: I won't spend more time on an email to say the same thing thanks.
I was treated very badly by some of the nurses at maternity ward when I went give birth at this hospital.
From ER to Surgical Ward C. We received the best service. Staff was genuinely caring & helpful.
Terrible experience! Unhelpful, unprofessional, unfriendly - will not go there again for an emergency. Even the receptionist asked the nurses to assist me as she could see I was in a bad state.
I have been to the hospital for the past 2 weeks to visit a family member. HOW does a hospital allow patients and visitors to smoke at the entrance of the hospital, surrounded by NO SMOKING signs? As you enter the smell of cigarettes' smoke overwhelms you. This matter should be reported to Health and Safety. I showed the one patient that they are sitting smoking next to a No Smoking sign and was nearly attached - shocking
The hospital staff is very friendly, caring, considerate and knowledgeable. I was there for a shoulder operation on 31/10 and discharged today 02/11, and could not ask for better care. Great hospital!
I hav not got 1 word bad to say about Kloof hospital. I was admitted in the medical ward for 3 nights and it was absolutely amazing, the staff were so friendly & helpful. Definitely one of the best hospitals Iv stayed in. Thank you Kloof hospital, keep up the good work.
My husband was referred from Thabazimbi with malaria. The dr at the ER was very unprofessional. She insulted the referring doctor in front of other patients and ourselves. Though my husband was having delirious episodes and heavy temperature spikes, she refused to admit him. My daughter is also a doctor and when she insisted the he must be admitted, the dr made it clear she would admit him without a drip and she threw a temper tantrum right in front of everybody. My husband was seen by the physician the next day who kept him in hospital for four days. She said he had the severe malaria that can lead to seizures and death.
Please fix your parking payment system. The card facility is not working.
Alternatively the ATM needs to dispense smaller notes than R100 since the parking payment machine doesn't take 100s.
The last time I was here I had the same problem.
This isn't baseball, you don't get 3 chances, next time I'm taking an Uber home and invoicing you for the trip both ways
My stay at the Mediclinic Kloof was horrible only because of a racist white Afrikaans speaking unit Manager (Medical ward). I came through emergency and was admitted on Sunday late afternoon- under Dr Andre Lubbe. Admitted for bronchopneumonia and Asthma. I was then taken to the “Medical ward bed 16 where I stayed alone. The next morning my arm started bleeding, I ran the bell to call the nurse and the unit manager who is a nurse, came through and I informed her and showed her my arm. She said it’s a drip there has to be blood and walked away. I asked her to remove it as my arm had excruciating pain. She walked away and said “they” will come take it out…. Taking it out happened few hours later.
I was then taken to a room with 3 more patients with different sicknesses. In my condition I needed a room that was warm- the Aircon was full blast and no one seemed to be bothered. I reported this issue to the sisters e.g Sister Jabu, but she seemed to be too scared of the unit manager. I then developed fever, flu due to this Aircon. The following morning Dr Lubbe came to do his rounds, he found me very sick and requested the Aircon to be switched off. Jabu was too scared to switch off until Dr Lubbe screamed at her. Asked her “can’t she see that im very sick”.
There was one Afrikaans speaking lady who screamed that she wants Aircon, she’s from Limpopo. For her it was luxury. She told the unit manager and they spoke in Afrikaans and unit manager switched it back on- full blast. She failed to look at the pros and cos. She did not act professionally. She chose to make her fellow Afrikaans speaking lady happy as opposed to saving a life of a very sick black patient. When I requested to be moved she screamed at me that there are no beds. …. After her screaming I told Jabu to call Dr Lubbe, I’m going to another hospital- only then I was told they found another bed….
THIS BEHAVIOUR OF AFRIKAANS SPEAKING SISTERS BULLYING PATIENTS MUST STOP NOW!
I AM DISAPPOINTED ABOUT BLACK NURSING SISTERS LIKE SISTER JABU, WHO ARE NOT COMPETENT TO DEFEND THEIR PATIENTS.
Best hospital and facilities on this side of Gauteng. With amazing doctors! Highly recommended
We were in the pediatric ward for 5days, as a new mom of a foster baby, this was a whole new experience and scary. The nurses doctors and all staff in general, in one word awesome. They are friendly and caring, extremely supportive.
At first I gave 2 for reception staff and experience sitting and waiting for a bed untill 30min before my procedure where I had to go up to them and tell them I am due in 30 min. Now I am changing it to 4stars, because the staff in the medical ward deserve 10 stars, friendly, helpful and thoughtlful. Martha having my food ready and waiting because she knew I would be hungry when I come out of theatre. Thanks to you!
