Espresso Cafe & Bistro reviews
56Nice place to have coffee, or a bite to eat. Just don't forget to take cash, don't have card machine.
Great vibe, anything they make with the peri peri sauce is great (pregos, pizzas), I'm sure their other foods must be good, iv just never got past the pregos though! Its great to sit by the street and just watching the hustle and bustle of parkhurst
Great food.but cash only. No card facilities. However, atm in the Resturant for convenience

Wide variety on their menu, great taste, portions and service. The ONLY take Zapper and cash (they have a facility on site where you can draw cash). Great place to sit and people watch.
Been coming here since they opened. Delicious food is one thing. Consistently delivering it is another. Still waiting for a bad meal 20 years later. One of the best nights out in Joburg. Consistently.
Best pizza in the world (the espresso classic). I literally fly here from Australia to get this pizza!
Coffee and croissants. Coffee excellent, croissants were warmed in a microwave and a bit stodgy. But still a great spot to soak up some winter rays and watch life amble past
Cosy spot, esthetic beautiful done, reasonable priced, I'm not a Vanilla person, but the cake was deliciously fresh, with coconut flakes. The rooibos tea was premium quality.
Food ok. Please tell patrons that you do not accept cards before they order. Do you share the transaction fees for the ATM in your shop.
After much debate to go I gave in because of a recommendation that the food was good and also consistent. I'm not a fan of the people watching side of parkhurst but hey. It was busy, good service, great food for a decent price and I enjoyed it. I'll probably go again.soon.sigh.
Really enjoyed my time here, the staff were very helpful, cheerful and present. Although I found the menu overwhelming with all of the different options and because its quite comprehensive the food is absolutely delicious! I'm not a seafood fan but the calamari from my friends dish completely changed my mind! Highly, highly recommend!
Best wait staff.
Fantastic food.
Owners who continue to invest their blood, sweat and tears to ensure that everyone leaves full.satisfied.and happy to have had a truly satisfying meal.
Thanks to the entire team!
Arrived at 9am for breakfast. The floors, chairs and table linen were dirty. We should have just left but decided to give the food a go since we were all starving. Ordered medium poached eggs, roasted cherry tomatoes on ciabatta. Out came raw (not even runny) eggs, a thick slice of half cooked tomato on white bread. When I brought this to the attention of the manageress, she tried to "educate" me on what a slice of ciabatta look like - apparently just like white bread. She didn't even offer apology for the poor quality of the rest of the meal. We won't be returning.
Enjoyed the food and drinks and their service was Excellent. Well done you deserve 5 stars. I'll definitely come again soon.
Fabulous restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious and the cocktails are amazing. Can definitely recommend for great service and atmosphere too.
Very cool place with good food and a nice vibe.
Pity about the vendors in the area who are actually beggars in disguise
Bleh
Toast needed hammer and Chisel, sunny side eggs (which were solid hard) added further dryness
Nice service decent food pleasant atmosphere.
Food portions value for money
Staff very polite and helpful
Pop past for a good cuppa.
The beverages was a total disappointment. We ordered X1 Rooibos and X1 honey tea. Both cups were served with the teabag in the cups! Their interpretation of honey tea being a bag of five roses and honey. The menu says honey and lemon slices? ! Honey tea would be Rooibos with honey and lemon slices, as Rooibos is herbal. The food was good but for such a small space the tables are way to close together. It's a real social joint for 20 year olds and very loud. Definitely won't recommend having a coffee there or even a sit down if you want a conversation as you can hardly hear what your partner is saying.
