Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff, Johannesburg reviews
55Beautiful boutique hotel. Exquisite rooms. A real home away from home with all the trimmings.
We thought The Four Seasons was absolutely top class. The staff are amazing, facilities were amazing, and the food was excellent, although the menu was limited.
Advice was always on hand, and I would 100%. Recommend this hotel to anyone.
We booked a table at the restaurant and then we were subsequently told that the restaurant is "too full" and they cannot accommodate us. The resturaunt was empty for context and had multiple open tables. The hostess was utterly shockingly rude. The manager then admitted this is not correct and that there is space. I am actually flabbergasted at the poor treatment we recieved. How can you treat paying customers who made a booking in that manner? We will not be going back.
I took my family for a vacation in Joburg, South Africa. Stayed at the Four Seasons. I have stayed at many hotels. This was by far the best hotel every. Every aspect of the hotel, service, friendliness, food, etc. It is an amazing hotel. I have stayted at top hotels in New York City. This was much better in so many ways. This is truly a 5 star hotel. The staff, one for one, were so friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic. The service was immediate and perfect. My whole family had a great time and this hotel made our vacation the best. By the way, their breakfast is phenomenal. What a way to start your day. But my favorite is how friendly and helpful the staff were. GREAT JOB TO FOUR SEASONS.
I went to the Westcliff restaurant and it was honestly an amazing experience. The food was wonderful, atmosphere, service and view. Our waiter was Musa (female) she was absolutely kind and patient. I'd love to get served by her when I come back there.
The staff is welcoming, the views are amazing and their food was spectacular, a bit pricey but everything was worth it
Have frequented this exquisite hotel and restaurant through the years and is still impressed with the world class service, rooms with panoramic views overlooking the city and relaxing at the poolside on a hot summer's day.
Delight from the reception area truly is an amazing individual and an asset to the hotel. I am from Johannesburg, so my location rating is a five. Best hotel in Johannesburg.
You cannot imagine when you enter that hill and the golf car takes you up to the big living room and dinning room and the wonderful, breathtaking views of the city below you.

Really friendly staff, sadly the weather wasn't great but everything else about the experience was great. I look forward to visiting when the weather is better
The place is just perfect. The staff always give great customer service and there is large variety of foods, all fresh and absolutely delicious.
For the amount you pay this place should wow a bit more. The setting is great but it has lost the comfortable hotel feel and resembles more an upmarket cafe vibe with even the music reflecting that. The food is good but way below standard for those prices and the quality of the staff and feel of the hosts and the place is not something I would associate with The Westcliff.
Don't forget to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ. ᴄᴏᴍ when booking your room. This website will compare hundreds of booking websites and normally will have rooms much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This hotel is one of the highest rated in this area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few days you definitely won't be disappointed.
Best service, amazing views. Great food. A very wholesome experience.
The property, staff, food and overall experience was top notch. Day at the spa with brunch at the Flames restaurant turned into booking a stay into one the suites. We enjoyed it so much
Very beautiful place, I did a delivery there. A bit difficult to find assistance, however the friendly gent that received his good made the experience all the better
The most beautiful view in town. The starters and desserts were amazing, however I did not enjoy the main course as much.
Absolutely beautiful scenery. Great food. Nice special place to have a brunch. Menu is great and has a wide menu even for picky eaters.
When celebrating a birthday.especially in the second half of life.one likes to make an effort for your Loved Lady.
Let me say that the food was exceptional.both the Roast chicken supreme and the Carbanara pasta.
The view has not changed in years.but there is nothing that can be done about that.
Or indeed should be done about that!
The front desk at Flames was very obliging and accommodating.thank you Nadene.
The table.the chairs. Were just no where near 5 star.
The chairs rocked.they were too low.making the table too high. It was an uncomfortable disaster.especially as I had to sort it out to be able to at least try to salvage the rest of the evening.especially at those prices.
The port arrived in sticky glasses too.
With time ticking fast towards the curfew, I had to actually make a fuss to get service, so our order could be prepared without us just scoffing it down in a rush.
And that was just the beginning of the lack of attention to detail by the staff.
I expected more from the total experience.
But we did call for the chef to thank and compliment him.
I am sure these things can be fixed in a single table testing and staff training.
So don't let me put you off. I will go back.but only after a reccie to test some things are up-to-the-expectation.
Not your ordinary place for breakfast. Most amazing variety of danish pastries to start with, and then delicious selections off their "buffet" menu. Definitely worth a visit especially for a special occasion
I booked the early weekend brunch this Saturday and the service at the restaurant was appalling. Only one waiter assigned to serve a table of more than twenty people turned out to be a disaster. The people I had invited were either begging for their starters to be served or begging for their drinks to be served. Almost two hours into the brunch and we still had not been served our mains. Some of the main course meals were not prepared as per the menu. After mains we waited 20 minutes for our beers. The waiter plonked the beers onto the table without beer glasses and without even opening up the bottles for us. How are we supposed to open a bottle of beer that isn’t a twist of cap. Seriously wonder why this place is rated so high, I’ve had 10 times better service at Wimpey. The food was delicious but I will be reluctant to book here again.
