Bakery Fournos Dunkeld reviews
22Coffee tastes like burnt wood, food was terrible. I would rather go to father coffee next door.
We love Fournos the food and experience but please guys wear your masks properly over mouths and noses and keep to covid protocols as you are dealing with food.
Still the best Fournos by far. Was a bit disappointed by the service at the pie counter though. It's never pleasant being served (especially when it's food) by someone acting like you're a pest. Also, the drinks fridge is positioned inconveniencely.
An incredible bakery with every little pastry and baked good imaginable, all fresh and ready to go. Well situated in terms of convenience with all the other shops around it allowing one to do their entire shop in one go.
Definitely my go to place for breakfast. A friend first introduced me to it and I've been loving it eversince. Love love the food.
Really fantastic bakery. Nothing beats their fresh chocolate croissants early in the morning. Their loaves of bread are also fantastic. The restaurant doesn't have a massive menu but the quality of the food is good.
There was mostly empty baskets with crumbs and flour as evidence of bread rolls. Maybe Saturday afternoon is not a good time.
Besides that the menu and quality of food its great, they open at 6am. A travelling business man's dream. Keep up the good work team Fournos, I'm with you.
This place has the most devine croissants and at such a good price. We got ours early Sunday morning and they'd literally just come out the oven!
Large bakery, nothing great or too special. We came in to get some baked goods for a road trip. The service is fast (I would not say friendly) and there is a lot to choose from. The carrot muffins and carrot cupcakes were divine. The croissants could have been much better. There are better places to get well made croissants.
I have been going there for about 8 years. And I always loved it! I went for a croissant and coffee. My croissant was cold even though I asked for it warm, I would have liked some butter and jam, I also didn't get any sweetener for my coffee and had to get from another customers table, I would have asked the waitress but she put my food down and walked away she also did not check on me, I tried to explain to her why I was not happy but she ended the conversation walked away while I was still speaking to her. This is the first time in 8 years that I have had a bad experience.
I totally love this place. Always humming with patrons, food awesome, very well stocked shelves such a variety, and extremely helpful staff. Best pastries and bread in Africa
Love it - great vibe - excellent food - from a quick coffee /snack to a full meal.
Lots of variety - central on the main road
No parking issues
We came on Saturday at about 3: 15, unaware that they were closing at 4 until all the staff started packing everything away a few minutes after we arrived. I was completely confused, how can you start stacking tables and chairs away 45 mins before closing! As well as packing all the breads and ingredients to make a fresh sandwich. I was quite disappointed at this, as you couldn't get any staff attention as they were so focused on cleaning up. However our waitresses service was incredible! I wanted a fresh ciabatta sandwich and the lady at the deli refused to find ciabatta for me, with a terrible attitude too! But my waitress went out of her way to get me the bread I wanted. Thank you for that! Whom ever runs this branch, I think if you say you close at 4 then please only pack your things away once you have closed! We felt rushed and when paying our bill I stood up and my chair was gone within 2 seconds! Huh? It still wasn't 4 yet, let me add! Just a suggestion!
This place gets very busy but whether you're getting food from the buffet or sitting down, it is prepared well
The best rotisserie chicken, great ciabatta and lits of yummy goodies to tempt the palate. Definitely worth a visit.
Everything is okay at Fournos. I am eating a lamb curry right now from Fournos and it is pretty awful. Coffee could be much better, food in general too. Great service. Wish they would go to a Bean There or Salvation cafe and copy the standard there.
It was full at 11am. But the service was excellent and our female waiter, very polite and willing and got my coisants and bread herself, which was great. I neves had to get up and do it myself
Had a pretty average experience at this restaurant. It was super busy over lunch time and our drinks (coffees) took longer than the food to come out. The waiting staff wasn't particularly friendly and the sandwich I had was soggy. A bit disappointing for a bakery. The vibe is busy and go-go-go with a fish shop next door which, when the wind turns, is really off putting.
However, we bought some treats from the deli section and that I can recommend.
29 May 2019, for our Sins my Wife & I visited the Fournos in Dunkeld for breakfast today, what a sad disappointment. A waiter who was far more interested in whether the nearby table was leaving him a tip than taking our order, 'hand-cut chips' (i suspect it was a normal potato hacked up but theres no way of knowing.) that were the worst chips iv had since boarding-school (they were old potatoes, real ancient ones), mustard livers on toast that were overdone & tasted of absolutely nothing; by that I mean they were tasteless! The poached eggs were done as requested, thanks for getting that right.
The meal took 35 minutes to arrive & our waiter sadly wasnt much interested in coming to our table.
