Restaurant Ghazal reviews
52By a country mile the most flavour some and tender lamb korma curry that I have ever tasted.
Best Indian food ever! I love the vegetarian options too. So delicious!
My friends and I love going here.
Something to realy experience. What a relaxiing envirnment and the food is to die for! Will see you again.
We went for a dinner and had a fantastic time. The mood and atmosphere are perfect, the staff are wonderful and very kind, the food is exactly what it should be and of an incredibly high standard in my opinion.
Overall a lovely restaurant that is highly enjoyable and most definitely recommended.
Lovely atmosphere and the staff is great. I ate everything because it was all so good. The starter platter was amazing
Wonderful service, fantastic Indian food, beautiful decor and outdoor seating and incredible atmosphere, I would definitely recommend.
Very tasty and we'll served. We had chicken samoosas a paneer and lamb curry, garlic and peshwari naan. My only criticism is that the peshwari naan came topped with sugar whereas the ones I have had in other places come with raisins and coconut to give it it's sweetness rather than topping it with sugar.
We always order the paneer for veg or chicken maknee (aka Butter) hot flavour with garlic Naan, and a jug of Chai with Gajar Halwa dessert. Best combination for a 1.5 hour dinner. Very tasty, and still the same all these years and keep it that way. Service, manager and staff are still the same 5 star experience.
Best Indian restaurant in Johannesburg by far. The food is absolutely fantastic. I've tried many Indian restaurants but none come close to ghazal, hence why they're always busy even during the week.
Portions are big and both the vegetarian meals and meat dishes are very good.
I am vegetarian, been here for two time as my chinese colleague like this particular India resturant. The veg. Dishes are average compared to Non veg. However i liked the service and cooking to your taste.
The best freshest and tastiest Indian food outside of India! Jimmy runs a great indian restaurant. Keep it up!
As usual, everything was good.
Tried the tandoori fish just for a change, and would go back here just to have it again. Absolutely divine - not overdone, not overspiced, just perfect.
If this isn't already ranked as the best Indian restaurant in Jhb, it should be.
Parking is plentiful, and the nightclub next door adds life to the whole area without being intrusive.
We are never disappointed at Ghazal. Our go-to for wonderful food. Service is attentive, attention to details appreciated and the decor provides a casually elegant ambiance which adds to the pleasure. To Jimmy and his excellent team.thanks once more.
Great food and service. Really authentic and superb indian food.
Try the clay oven baked prawns. Yummy
Some of the best curry I've had in a long time. All the staff are friendly and attentive. Thank you!
Great evening! Delicious food! Mouth watering experience! Always such a pleasure to dine and be treated in your Resturaunt. We keep on coming back ️ Table 20 has a good view.
Great restaurant. Cozy atmosphere. Food was insanely good (just make sure to order the hot option if you like spicy food. Great portion sizes and the prawns I ordered were fresh. So authentic!
This has to be one of the best North Indian curry restaurants in the country. We are frequent guests. Exceptional food, great service, reasonably priced. Dine inn or take out. Attention to detail. This place is a must!
Normally Ghazal is known for authentic Indian food. We went this week, and while the service was still good, most everything else was wrong. Indian food that is bland (Paneer Tikka) and sweet (all curries) ? Where does that come from? Very disappointing. Only the Naan bread was up to their notmal standards.
Edit: Went back two weeks later to give it another try. Found that Paneer Tikka was better, you felt it had actually been to the clay oven. So maybe just a glitch that other day.
Yet the basic sweet take of the sauce that all curries came with remained the same. Could it be that Ghazal adjusted their recipes over time to better suit the local taste? The manager didn’t know, may be the owners can answer. I mean, even Coca-Cola or Häagen-Dazs have changed the taste of their products (very much to the dismay of their oldest and fiercest supporters though).
That certainly is their prerogative. Let’s hope that their clientele approves.
