Glenburn Lodge and Spa reviews
42We had a lovely couples' massage, jacuzzi and spa session with friendly and professional ladies. Highly recommended.
Establishment exist for a few decates but still well maintained. Country lodge close to Johannesburg. Hiking trail up the mountain and cycling trail. Gardens is lovely and we'll established.
Very nice place in general.not sure why the gardens are not well kept throughout. Some areas are a little overgrown. You step out of a very nice room to an unkept garden. Just cant understand it.
The service was amazing! All the staff members were friendly, accommodating and professional. Highly recommend based on service alone. The rooms were tidy, the facilities were good, the spa was wonderful and overall, the lodge is well maintained and beautiful! Thank you for a truly wonderful weekend away!
Plse just make sure the invoice is correct. No booking out surprise! Otherwise a very pleasant experience.
Highly recommended the service was excellent. The staff went out of their way to make our weekend stay for my mom's 75th birthday very special. The rooms are comfortable and the amenities great. Will definitely go back.
Had a great time here with my family. Very peaceful and beautiful. Tons of entertainment and the best putt putt course I've ever played. I was unsatisfied when I rented a bicycle. The brakes were not working and they had no helmet for me to wear. Other than that I enjoyed my stay with friendly staff and a beautiful scenery.
The food was great, service from reception excellent, service from the restaurant was great overall I enjoyed everything including the walk in the area
Food was great. Visited here pre-Covid, and it's great to see that they've maintained an excellent standard. The decor is a bit old fashioned, but the beautiful views, good service and great food makes up for it.
Only complaint/suggestion really, is that labels at the dishes would be great. Especially with some ingredients listed, for people with special dietary requirements and allergies (Nuts, Dairy, Egg, Gluten). Especially at the starters and dessert tables. It was nice that they had a specific vegetarian dish, that was highlighted during the introduction by the MC - who was also great entertainment. His choice of music was really well suited, it added to the atmosphere, and he timed his playlist very nicely, leaving the more upbeat, crowd engaging songs for after most people had finished their meals. Overall, great experience, great for a group and worth the drive from Joburg.
We had our wedding in September at Glenkyle Venue. We would just like to send out a special thank you to Christo. He went over and above to make our day so special and would highly reccommend him. As well as a special thank you to Shudu who looked after us the whole evening at our wedding. Thank you to everyone and Glenburn Lodge.
Home away from home, excellent food, rooms and all things you will need, customer care is excellent, loved my stay there!
Great views. However the rooms are below standard. The bed was not very comfortable. The rooms do need renovations.
I've been to this place years back on work meeting we were accommodated at their hotel rooms. But now we booked their chalet, we had a fantastic time, we manage to bond and chat until early hours of the morning. We had fun.
This is an awesome scenic resort getaway, great views and lots of facilities and things to do, there is also a river that flows on the edges of the resort.
Beautiful place to get away from city living.
Stayed in the garden suite. On arrival on a cold winters evening we were pleasantly surprised to find the room already warmed up, so were the beds and the bathroom floors.
So sad Covid restrictions minimised visitors to this lovely lodge and sadly staff had to be laid off.
We were invited to a wedding here and we stayed in the Hotel. The rooms and decor were a bit dated and needed a revamp.
Our bedding smelled of mould, but I do not think that was a general problem in all rooms.
The chalets looked like a better deal and were more up to date.
The wedding was great, the food was good, but the bar service was troublesome. Wine had to be fetched from the main hotel as no stock was kept at the venue, which caused delays and the selection of available alcohol was limited.
All in all it was a good experience, but with room for improvement.
The personnel were very friendly and accommodating and went out of their way to assist.
Staff are amazing, friendly & give exceptional service. Great place to get away into countryside for a few nights An awesome wedding venue & delicious food 10/10
Service and food was amazing! They went the extra mile for us by decorating the dining room table to celebrate our anniversary which was special
Very serene place and amazing atmosphere surrounded by nature and wildlife. My only contestestation would be on the quality of internet, especially for the meetings (had a horrid time trying to connect both in the conference centre & never worked in the rooms).
Great value for money. We spent our 7th anniversary there and enjoyed a lovely massage treatment. All the staff were very friendly and the gardens are beautiful and well kept. It’s a pity that non of the spa treatments or public jacuzzi was available due to covid. The included breakfast was the only real disappointment.
