Restaurant Hillside Tavern reviews
28Great Trinchado - as always! Great service. It was good to have been able to sit in the outside area to enjoy our meal. My hubby had the "pensioner lunch special", and I had the traditional Hillside Tavern tavern. Great meals and reasonable value for money.
10/10 service
10/10 quality food.
Made a memorable evening unforgettable. Thank you to Francois and team!
Absolutely horrible service. Our waiter seemed to dissappear and not care at all. Basic service questions weren't asked.
Its terribly sad because the food is truly good but the service is horrendous.
Great South African restaurant. Slightly outside the main town but the food was delicious. My ostrich steak was super good, and the pavlova for dessert was amazing.
Service extremely bad, waiters are no where to be found, bugs all over the tables outside, recommend them to burn citronella and the manager said theres nothing they can do. Food is good but for the rest, very disappointing. They leave the umbrella stands next to the tables, i fell over and nobody bothered to say or do anything. Thumbs down from me. But dont butcher till you tried it.
It was supposed to be a great come back to the restaurant we enjoyed so much over 2 decades ago. It was supposed to be a memorable night for our anniversary. Instead we were dissapointed every minute in our 2 hours there. We reserved the table and they could not chose worst place for our table: by the stinky toilet! The place had 15% occupancy that night. After unbearable smell we asked to be moved, and they gave us better located table. The ambiance is outdated, cheep. The service was extremely slow. It took them 1 hour to bring us our order, and they never bothered informing us for reason for such a long wait. The stake was good, but the sauce was not on the side as requested. The desert, creme brulee was runny and not at all what creme brulee should be. We are never going back and I cannot see any reason why would anybody go there.
Wow the best pan fried T-bone ever with an awsome garlic butter. The Oysters were excellent best I have had in Pretoria. We all had a great time.
