Hogshead Douglasdale

Am a regular at the place. Atmosphere is always great, staff are friendly and quick with orders. I don’t often eat there , but the times I have the food were tasty.

While it is nicely cosmopolitan, it remains a loud place. So i would say a great venue for a group to party. Not so much for a quiet supper.

Best food, best atmosphere and fantastic service! From after work drinks, to weekend nights out and sundowners on the deck, Hogs is definitely the best place to be.

Always good fun. Great vibe. Excellent service. Watched Rugby quarter finals here. So much fun to be had. In spite of the crowd, our waitron was in top form.

Ordered their green and gold burger, absolutely tasteless. Early hours of the following morning sick as a dog. Door for the smoking section left open for the smoke to drift into the non smokers area. Service was great.

It's a great place to meet a few mates and have a few beers and good pub food. My 3 star atmosphere rating is purely due to the road noise when sitting on the outside benches-very annoying.

For the first time in my life in SA I’ve experienced racism lot this large extent- My family and I was denied entrance into the premise by the bouncer. We was advised that there was not enough space.

The bouncer at the entrance stated that you people of color come and cause issues for us.

Whilst other patrons of non color was allowed in.

How this is allowed in a modern day SA and a beyond me.

Fantastic place to have a beer with the boys! Food is tactile, flavourful and uniform across the group.

Had the best experience coming to this restaurant! All the staff are super friendly and on top of their game. This place is a great place to have a couple of drinks with mates and still have good quality food. Service is speedy even when they're busy. Trust me if you want to watch some rugby with the boys best place to go.

One of my favourite local hangouts. Whether it's for a quick drink or tasty pub food (I recommend the hogs platter) Hogshead is reliably great all the time. Every day has a good vibe, however Sundays are especially fun with live music and a festive mood all around. Definitely worth it!

Great food, great vibe, drinks are slightly more expensive than other places. I would go again though.

Because of the great price on the brandy special!:) Never had a bad time here but sure have heard embarrassing stories about myself that I don't remember

We had such a fun evening with our friends. The vibe and service were great. Some of the best chicken wings we have had. I was disappointed with the cocktails as they tasted watered down.

They don’t follow Covid regulations tho.
The place was overcrowded and there was no social distancing or wearing of masks.

A great place to go and see sports while you have a meal. I recommend a burger or eisbein. If you have children you can go with them, I went there with my brother aged 11 years old (at the time).

You'll rarely go wrong at this Hogshead. The service is fast, the staff is friendly, the drinks are well served and the food tastes nice. It's a sports bar so expect to see lots of sports on TVs.

They've got all kinds of seating areas: by the bar, indoor and outdoor high tables, outdoor benches and there's also a kids area.

It's a social place. Was perhaps a bit too crowded considering that it's covid times. Food is great, vibe is great. It's a perfect balance between pub and restaurant.

They can maybe try make sure their draughts are a touch colder

Well, people badly behaved, two fights broke out, not a place I would visit in a hurry, very young

Yummiest cocktails. Gets a little busy for my liking but early afternoons are great with friends.
