I have had Japanese and Chinese beef chop suey for years and meat has always been soft and tender

And the owner or manager don't even read or comment on the review
I would not recommend this restaurant
And sorry I won't be buying again
Kung Fu kitchen is way better

One of the best sushi restaurants in Johannesburg, I ordered on Uber eats and their sushi was fresh, well prepared and absolutely delicious

The seaweed salad and tofu salad are bare and bland. No seasoning nor dressing. Just boiled seaweed and tofu straight out the pack. The chow mein also leaves much to be desired. Very bland and over cooked. Would not recommend any of the above. Only thing with eating is the steamed rice. Very disappointing.

We booked in advance for the tepanyaki grill, but nobody told us it would be off due to loadshedding, so it was a bit of a disappointment. The food is quite good but takes forever to come to the table. The restaurant was quiet. Otherwise, I'd be more understanding. Service is mediocre. The waitress heard it was a birthday, so they brought us an ice cream with a sparkler, which was a nice thought.

Consistent fresh and delicious sushi at a good price. Unfortunately polystyrene containers are used for delivery services.

My favourite sushi place in Jozi. Incredible sushi partnered with incredible prices! The owners (mama & papa shop) are the friendliest couple you will meet, when you are a loyal customer they greet you by name & have great convo. I like the SO4 platter which includes Sashimi, Nigiri, California Rolls & Maki - you can choose an option of a variety of salmon & tuna. Their drinks are very cheap. I would not have your belongings on the table if you sit outside however inside is great. Can get very busy specially on the weekends so order in advance. Yes they do all-you-can-eat too!

Restaurant was dirty (especially stained curtain on wall next to door) with flies in restaurant and especially in the mens bathroom.

We ordered the Tempura (assorted), but it was very bland, but to be fair this was our first time eating this dish, so maybe it is supposed to taste this way and we are just idiots

I just ordered on Mr deliverey the food looked like it was put together quickly no taste nothing never order chicken cho mein from then

I've been coming to Hokkaido for 15 years. When my husband and I found out we were pregnant we had a celebratory lunch there. My daughter's first piece of fish was the salmon sashimi. She's 9 now and her fave sit- down and take- away is still Hokkaido. Big fan. BIG. Forever.

It’s become our regular. Always good. Safe. Very friendly staff and very affordable! Great foodie deals.

If I could give zero I would. Service is poor and food does not look great either. Ordered food via Uber Eats and when arrived all the food was mixed around in the bag cause of poor packaging. When contacting the restaurant the perseption was that is not their fault and I have to deal with it. Please do yourselves a favor and order somewhere else. Anything is better what this restaurant can provide.

Great variety of cuisine. Chinese, sushi, tempanyaki, dimsum etc.
From tempanyaki menu, prawns, sole, Honey chicken and fillet steak all most delicious.

Great atmosphere, there is a chef frying meals as a feature in the seating area for guests to watch which I found interesting. Try the fried salmon steak, it's really good.

Whilst many restaurants on Grant Avenue have come and gone over the last few years, this establishment has stood the test of time for good reason.

Look past the old decor and you’re in for good hearty Chinese and Japanese food at very reasonable prices.

The food is delicious, since we ate at this place last year September 2019, we have been going back every time.

The first time I ordered food here I was very impressed. I got the seafood chao fan and maki roll.

This time, words cannot express my frustration I ordered crispy duck and spring rolls to be delivered. The spring rolls were nice however, rest of the order was not what I expected and I am still not convinced what I received was duck meat. Also there was a different receipt in the bag.

The crispy duck was in shredded form, coated and with sweet 'n sour sauce. I made a couple of calls before I ate the food but there was langu age barrier as well as bad connection. Eventually, I had to eat what was delivered because I had already waited for 50mins to get the food.

I noticed on the menu they have sweet 'n sour duck. Why would the crispy duck be sweet 'n sour again? I personally do not like sweet 'n sour sauce so, it looks like I am going to have to cook myself a meal still. While I watch my money drown.

I still do not know if I got the wrong order, their advertising is bad or false. What I know is I tried to eat the "crispy duck" and I am not having it. I am very disappointed. Unfortunately, I cannot take photos.

The atmosphere is great, the service is friendly and the food is delicious and well-priced, with an extensive menu offering both Chinese and Japanese cuisine.
