Repeated poor service. Incorrect billing and now my partner (who still unfortunately goes here) has been waiting 45 mins for his appointment. They have not even approached to apologize or give an indication when they are finally assisting him. This place is just poor. Wish our doctor never joined Intercare, but I suppose money talks. Do not waste your time looking for care here, you’d be better off going to the nurse at Dischem. More affordable too.

Do not call or run to them when you have a medical emergency which may be life threatening, even if it is within 150 meters from their offices, as they are "too busy" to assist, rather call the staff at Planet Fitness who is willing to assist with urgent medical care.

Update a year later: Did not receive any response to my e-mail as requested. Had to keep sending it over a two month period just to get one mail delivered as it kept coming back stating undelivered or recipient's mailbox is full. This company clearly does not care.

I had an appointment with Dr Lightfoot (dentist) he is absolutely brilliant, gentle, cares about his patients and explains everything. I highly recommend

Appointment was 16: 45 it's now 17: 30 no doctor in sight.
I understand doctors can be behind schedule but 45 minutes plus behind schedule is unacceptable. Goodbye intercare castle gate.

You know if you hate your job just do something else. Had to pay 1200 for consutation of where i was insulted, rushed and spoken too like a piece of shitt. I came to you to get medical advise not insulted, character breakdown and life advise. Said nothing was wrong with my chest yet subcibed me cough syryp. Told me im feeling sick but not sick yet had the audacity to tell me why go to work and make everyone sick? If you feel so strongly about this you are more than welcome to pay my bills? And if im not sick why subscibe me so much medicine? But you prefer i rather go to a fisio for sinus? Wasted 1200 have to see another docter with a nother consutation fee. Thank you for being such an abusive human, not like life us hard ebough hey. Wish there was a 0 star. If you dont like your job rather do something else. Maybe take some of that life advise yu feel so freely to insult with

Went in for a check-up, my blood pressure taken several times at home was very elevated, explained to the doctor I am experiencing heart palpitations, shortness of breath etc. She was very dismissive and did not seem to be very interested in what was concerning me. Took my blood pressure only once and told me it was normal. Repeatedly dismissed me and my other symptoms, I did not have a good experience at all and Intercare Castle Gate will never see me again.

Our son has great tooth pain so we called the DENTAL line first this this morning, We confirmed that we need a DENTAL appointment, and was booked for 09: 15. After arriving, your reception staff booked him for a DOCTOR appointment. The practice manager just shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't make the mistake, the reception staff did. You wasted our time with a boy in pain.
Hire competent people, for goodness sake!

It is important to confirm if the Medical Aid approves a procedure etc so that a client does not have to pay for it and then to find out afterwards that the medical aid covered it. Other intercare practices does that, so why can't this be done here? It will also save you time having to repay people and save people money as they do not have to be on the phone for a long time using their own airtime trying to get their money back.

I have full Medical Aid, Last year Feb Myself and My partner got Covid and we went to Castle Gate. I asked if there was any Co payment which they responded no. We did not hear anything from them nor did we hear anything from our medical aid. Last Year Aug year we normally do a routine call to all medical practitioners to find out if there is any outstanding bills, which they said they would send us a Statement. We did not receive that nor any calls for payment or outstanding payment. In December we got a Attorneys letter and is listed as bad payers and the Sheriff will collect assets if we don't pay. Our Account which was R1700 is now R3200 because of legal fees. I have never had any issues with any other Practices, their accounts department is always on point. I will never sit foot at any intercare again.

Terrible experience with regards to Discovery Health pay and the team that don't know how it actually works. Partner went through this morning and was double charged because their system does not actually display the information properly.

Really great experience at intercare castle gate! Very friendly and exceptional service. Ease of booking online, appointments are on time and I highly recommend Dr Kruger as she is very professional and knowledgeable as well as kind and caring.

I like to give a shout out to Dr Van Staden at Castle Gate. He is the most compassionate and understanding dr that takes time to listen. As a Key Care plus patient he always treats me with utmost respect and kindness. Dankie Dokter ek waardeer dit opreg.

Intercare Castle Gate is a great facility, clean and first class. Reception staff are always friendly and inviting. The ability to book online is super helpful and easy. The Doctors are phenomenal and truly take the time to ensure the best medical service.

I came in for an appointment with a doctor here. I was having issues with sensory and pain in my neck and hand. Although a muscle relaxer was given to ease the symptoms in my neck, no regard was made to even examine the potential damage in my hand, that I informed the doctor that I suspect its carpal tunnel syndrome. The doctor referred me to get a sonar exclusively on the right hand wrist and no other area. The sonar tech repeatedly asked me if I am sure that its just the wrist area of the one hand, and I told her that that is what the doctor ordered, I thought it was weird she asked, but in retrospect I now understand that a comprehensive correctly done sonar to determine carpal tunnel should be done all the way to the elbow of BOTH hands so that they can compare. The tests were inconclusive and the doctor still made no attempt to physically examine the hand, just referred me for a more expensive test. I refused, and went to a different doctor who then looked at my hand and physically touched it, doing simple tests that did not require equipment, and some tests that did, the second opinion doctor confirmed my hand as having advanced carpal tunnel syndrome to the point where I had already lost sensation and grip strength. This doctor also explained why the sonar the doctor at Intercare had sent me for, can not be seen as a valid diagnostic tool, because only the wrist area was examined, and there was no comparison done to the left hand to check for regularities and abnormalities between the two norms. This has been a complete waste of my money, going for tests that he deemed necessary, and still not even attempting a prognosis based on actual touch, just relying on technology - which were ordered incorrectly. I would not recommend this physician to anyone - the doctor just sat behind the desk smiling and telling me that getting old is difficult. I'm 30. I am in no means old and severe pain and discomfort in my hand should have been a concern that needed to be handled with the necessary attention that I as a patient deserved.

We had to take both our kids on a Sunday and as this in not our normal health care provider they where not to happy when we got there and didn't have an appointment. They did however help us with a stand in Dr who checked both the kids. Gave both kids meds and told us they should be better by the Wednesday. Nope my son only started sounding better and looking better by the following weekend and my daughter was sicker then she has been ever. She is only 5 months old and due to her age the Dr decided not to give her antibiotics even though she was sick and already showing signs of the infection getting worse. He assured us it is likely sinus and gave her sinus spray and syrup. By the following weekend she was so bad that our GP had to take her off bottle feedings. 5 month old baby and now we need to only feed her solids and no formula. How do you explain this to a baby. ON TOP OF THAT SHE STARTED THROWING UP BLOOD. The infection is so bad that it is now in her chest and she has not only antibiotics but also cortisone she now needs to take and to top it off. They billed the medical aid over R2000 because it was a Sunday. Such a waste of money. Feel like telling the medical aid not to pay them. Intercare Caste Gate also had the audacity to bill the medical aid twice for my baby? Would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Shame on you for being such crooks. My GP also told us it is not the first time one of his patients had such an experience. Please if you would like to take your complaint further get in tough with above mentioned organizations.

If I could give 0 stars I would! A Doctor at this practice TOTALLY misdiagnosed my 4 year old daughter, as a result, my daughter now has bilateral coarse bronchovascular markings with perihilar bronchial wall cuffing. Diffuse ill-difined ground-glass and nodular opacities. All evidence of untreated bronchoneumonia.
This Doctor diagnosed it as "allergies" and gave no seconde though as to why my daughter has been coughing as long as she has, no chest x-ray or anything to make sure. This is ridiculous and unacceptable to say the least! I am beyond angry! What would have happened if I did not take my daughter for a second opinion? !? !? !

Dr Carien van den Berg performed a relatively major procedure on my 7yo son. Her service and kindness and excellence was far beyond what was to be expected. Her care of both my children's dental health and experiences was nothing short of a miracle. Thank you for your excellent service and wonderful way with children.
