Jackal Creek Golf Estate reviews
33Jackal creek is a lovely estate nestled on a beautiful landscape BUT, be warned; you do not want to buy in this estate - you will regret it. The estate has been suffering from electricity outages unrelated to load shedding for now, six years. The management has failed to communicate with residents what the exact problem is and what measures will be taken to fix it. They recently communicated with us residents that the electricity problem is out of their hands, and this essentially translates to “it’s not their problem. ” The estate is currently building new property called Saint George's precinct. Meanwhile, they are failing to ensure that the current residents have a secured electricity supply. The houses at Saint Georges's precinct are massive and selling for R3.5 million. Imagine investing so much of your hard-earned money only to learn that you will spend half the week living without electricity. And the truth is, the estate agents will not tell you how bad the electricity crisis is at Jackal Creek. As I write this comment, it is Christmas morning, and we woke up without electricity even though load-shedding was suspended for the day.
Jackal Creek Golf Estates is a beautiful serine place with the best security available I absolutely loved visiting my friends there i would definitely consider moving in sometime in the future.
A very nice golf course. Has gotten a lot better in recent years. Prices are not bad and the new carts are very nice. Love all the Jackals on the course
Enjoyed a round of golden golf on this wonderful course.
From tee off to greens, each hole was simply a pleasure to play.
The staff at reception and half way are friendly and helpful.
The brand new golf carts are all fitted with Tablets tracking your progress, measuring distances and giving great general info on the course.
Definitely going back here again ️
This place if your are visitor your will be ask for a passport even if you're a South African instead of asking you an ID I don't understand is Jakkal creek a state inside south Africa? It's boring teach your guards to speak nicely to people and you can wait for 20m to enter too much traffic because of the rules they're adapting
Absolutely pathetic power at Jackal Creek! We own property and regret buying! Estate manager just says it's Eskom but it's half the estate that is out over and above loadshedding. DON'T BUY IN JACKAL CREEK GOLF ESTATE! This has been going on for 7 years
Fairly nice estate that has a restaurant and golf course. Quite large. I've come only for runs, don't play golf
Wish they would make up their mind what is needed to enter the estate! Do we need a license or ID or DNA sample
This estate is lovely. The gardens a lush green.lts a place to stay.l am seriously considering moving to stay there. 100% place
Have stayed here before, beautiful views. Also nice to wake up and see people playing golf just in front of your house, very calming. About 3km of running and cycling scenec tracks
Course is not to bad! Greens are inconsistent, some are fast and good condition and others are slow and patches on the greens. Fairways are in good conditions. Would I recommend playing here yes if you have the time! Difficultly is average some holes more and some not at all. All and all I'll give it a solid 6 out of 10 (if the greens where better it would be 6.8) played the course on 27/02/2021 it was green all around as well!
Lovely estate with reasonable levies and lots of amenities
Upon entering the estate there are a series of smaller townhouse apartments, beyond this one enters the freehold / house section of the estate, lovely modern homes overlooking the Golf course
The estate also has many Jackals walking around
Ideal for secure / family living
Checking in & out is abominable one day this thr next that.dropping off school kids is a mission.
Played there today. Course is ok and company was great but o my word. When we arrived I had to use the bathroom. First toilet not flushed. Then no soap to wash hands? At the pro shop one pen being used for all to sign in and not being sanitized. Person in pro shop very busy on phone and people queuing to pay. Carts are not being cleaned. Our cart handed over with banana peels and naartjies that were rotten. This after 30 minutes of begging to get a cart? Then halfway comes around. We are told no food is ready as you did not order before your t off. And when I complained the Manager Craig gets aggressive. I lost it. Thank goodness I never have to go back there again.
Probably the worst estate I've lived in. Constant power cuts. No communication and no actually resolution. In 1 week have power cites for about 40+ hours.
Good for a quick cheap round of golf, because you don't need electricity.
Brilliant if you are into camping! As a resident you are reliant on gas cookers and torches.
However, if you prefer the finer things in life like predictable electricity supply (yes even on Eskom standards) this is not the place for you (or me).
If you need fully functional electricity for 50% of your life - don't bother to buy or rent here. Power outages are the worst, sometimes up to four times a week at 3 to 4 hours at a time. Sometimes it goes off and comes back within a a few seconds, (this can can happen up to 5 times in 30 minutes). And no it's not load shedding, but isolated only to Jackal Creek. Your agent will not help, estate management too, so look elsewhere and save yourself the headache. It "looks nice" but not practical. I've lived here for over 5 years and the electricity problem is getting worse and worse especially during lockdown, so we couldn't even get take aways.
Beautiful Estate. Very peaceful to come home to after a busy day. But the electricity issues are really inconvenient and frustrating! Very frequent, abrupt and long power outages.
The electricity here has been so bad for the past months now. Every week something is faulty or whatever it’s so annoying besides the load shedding the estate has been having serious issues with the electricity and it’s very frustrating considering we still pay so much for electricity that we hardly have
At first the idea seemed wonderful the dream felt realised but the result has been the opposite. As a new homeowner on this estate, i now realise that the lack of change around the power issues is something any potential buyers or anyone looking at renting need to be told and need to consider. This isn't loadshedding, this is a problem within the estate. The other facilities are great but I don't use them, this review is based on my perspective as a new home owner on the estate, which I currently a regret. Affecting my ability to work, survive under lockdown and feel like I've invested wisely.
Do not buy here and don't rent unless you're ready for added power outages on top of any loadshedding.
