It's unique in many ways. The service was great, the food excellent, and the atmosphere completely different to most restaurants. It's really lovely!

Lot's of little shops, beautiful nursery and cozy restaurant with a book store and hand made furniture section, it really feels like your in the Karoo!

The surroundings and the restaurant itself are beautiful and inspiring. The coffee roastery adjacent to the nursery produces excellent coffee! Whereas the service in the restaurant is good, the meals are unfortunately mediocre and disappointing. So sad.

Definitely a cool place particularly in this area- a vibrant aesthetic and with lots of cool things to look at- books, pottery… The food wasn’t great though, and neither was the coffee. Not terrible, but just pretty lackluster. The dirty chai latte was awesome though! And we had a good time anyways being here for breakfast, so I’d recommend a visit:)

Perfect if you want to work and eat something- no music- Lovely! Also perfect to have a meeting with somebody
But service slow - food can be better. I ate the chorisio omelette- the sundried tomato did not taste good - I got the idea the omelette was not made fresh- I may be wrong - but it tasted warmed up - the chorizo was not very spicy - I expected a bit of more spice and the bread came with butter - but I was not asked if I would like something else- like jam or tomatosauce. - food is put down and the waitress walks away quickly. The unbaked chocolate sweet with the tea was rock hard - thank you a kind thought though- but could not eat it at all

Absolutely LOVE Karoo! The food is amazing, atmosphere top notch and the service excellent. Plus, for a bookworm like myself, the bookshop is a major plus. Karoo offers so much more than food and a happy atmosphere. Check this hidden gem out for yourself and meet Marshall, the beautiful Great Dane!

The food and drinks were good, and having a bookshop on the premises is an excellent idea, but the service when we were there was poor.

The service is terrible. The waiters don't even attempt to greet you or be friendly. We had 3 different meals and all were tasteless and dry. It's clearly old food they are serving us and reheating. Manager not even avaliable for feedback.

Excellent coffee & cappuccino.
Others in our group had delicious meals.
Especially the omelets. Service good.

Great food, ambience and service. Love the little shop, the fish tank and hydroponics. The other shops around are great too. And the chickens, water garden and dog. Lovely "farm" feel. Women's bathroom stall is very small though - my mother struggled to get in and out. But we'll definitely visit again.

Karoo Cafe is a favourite restaurant for many in the east of Pretoria, set within a garden nursery. It's interesting lunch menu, reasonably priced for delicious food draws folk back repeatedly. Parking is close to seating, indoors or outdoors. The roosters and chickens wander among the diners and provide entertainment. I'n not sure if dessert is not on the regular menu, but there was none the day we visited.

The mushroom, bacon and feta quiche with black rice salad was absolutely delicious. Lovely atmosphere as well.

Great food, and really good coffee. So delicious. The atmosphere is also very pleasant, and we love the used bookshop that shares its venue. Be prepared to stay for a while, however, as the service is unfortunately quite slow and inattentive.

Waiters are a bit aloof. Arrived table was very sticky, they wiped it down and it was still sticky. No sanitizing on entry. Service was slow, had to remind waitress several times about our orders. Had ordered coffees, milkshake and cake and pie. Coffee was okay. The rest was not great, wouldn't really go back.

Lovely and relaxed atmosphere with excellent cuisine. Although it has a warm and friendly feeling we felt safe during Covid epidemic due to big and airy open space.

Nice place with beautiful set up. Some great traditional meals on offer, but we only feel like ordering some salad and veggie wrap. Great coffee indeed!
