What an awesome experience. From the porter assisting with a wheel chair, ER reception, ER medical staff, High Care and St Patrick ward - you are amazing.

My surgery was on 10 October 2023. Even though I was terrified to be there, the nurses, doctors, staff and surgeons made my entire experience pleasant and comfortable. From the kindest words to the delicious food, to actually warming up my bed covers, Groenkloof Hospital you are the best. God bless?

Went to the ER in the middle of the night since our little one woke up screaming from pain. Waited about an hour to an hour and a half to be seen by the Dr which was fine as we assumed there were more serious, perhaps life-threatening situations to attend to. When the Dr finally arrived, she was in normal clothes, did not even introduce herself to us and did not examine our child properly. She was extremely condescending and seemed to lack empathy. We came here once before and were helped by a very kind, competent male doctor who seemed to have good knowledge about treating children, he was also very compassionate. But this time, unfortunately, was extremely disappointing. Will rather go to Eugene Marais Hospital next time.

Had a 9 day stay at the hospital recently. The Doctors and especially the Nurses were all so amazing. Food was good and the Servers were great as well. Not giving a 5 star because unfortunately the cleaning staff lets this hospital down. Had to complain a few times because the bathrooms were just disgusting. Not kept clean at all times and when cleaned not done adequately.

It was an awesome smooth process.no Hassel.a Black Lady named Kathrine was awesome.funny.made us feel at home.made us not to worry of the situation.process was complete and everything was in order.

I must tell u.u need a medical aid.if u cannot pay those exorbitant rates u see.having a medical Aid.there is no hell when getting the help u need at that point in time.unlike what I hear @ public hospitals

but generally all staff we came accross.and encountered.were geniune, helpful, and cheerful.

GOD BLESS ALL that made my encounter there fantastic.

Left early for my appointment at 10 on the second floor. Glad to find parking not far from the main entrance. Wandered about for 30 minutes, unable to find the correct room.
Eventually discovered it is in the building behind.
Not wanting to be late, I moved the car. Hobbled in with an injured knee after a long painful uphill walk.
Yes. Its an old hospital undergoing renovations. I get that, but surely stating which road, and which entrance to use and which building to enter, with simple signs and clear directions is not too much to ask when confirming appointments by email? Eg. Use the Totius Road entrance. The building entrance is to the right once inside the gate. Take a lift to the xxx floor. Turn left/right, going straight until the end. Turn left/right and look out for Room xxx on the left/right.
It should be remembered that many people attending appointments at Lifestyle Clinic Groenkloof are sick, often elderly, and are frequently in pain. They do NOT NEED this disasterous mess!
Customer service should be a priority in a hospital.
Once inside no directions on wall for Room xxx anywhere.
Wandered about getting more and more stressed. Caught lifts. Asked everybody. No-one could help. Two people said turn right instead of left. Eventually stumbled on it by accident. Immediately needed x-rays. More confusion. Receptionist kindly accompanied me to a right turn, but failed to say, "Go by lift to floor xxx, room xxx. "
Only one machine working, so an hour's delay there. "Don't worry! The doctors know our problem. "
X-rays done. Not a pleasant experience I would want to repeat, but was improved by the friendly receptionist.
Lost again going back. Even a hand-written note on the wall would help everybody!
An exhausting day complicated in my opinion by very poor inconsiderate management.

My daughter was brought here by ambulance from hartfield. I drove from joburg and still got here and found my child not attended to, as yet. Eventually after i enquired couple of times, the doctor came through, rude and cold as hell. Then some nurse came to take blood tests & got irritated that my child expressed pain.like let's just say the experience was like at some public hospitals. I'm saying some because I have seen a better hospitality at some public hospital. In Joburg we use Life Wilgeheuwel, this is the opposite of Wilgeheuwel- a definite no

Terrible ER, waited from 16: 00 till 21: 00 with no word from nurses regarding my nephews fractured arm very poor service and waiting period! Very disappointing! This is not my first time here, it’s my second time and nothings changed! Will NOT COME BACK HERE! I highly don’t recommend this hospital as an emergency unit! Since I got here as well there has never been anyone at the reception to assist either.

The gardens and Christian art were a huge help in my healing process. I really enjoyed and appreciated the nurses singing in the morning. There is room for improvement in service and care, but overall a good experience.

Horrible service.

I was there for most of the day and at the end the doctor did not even advise on what action should be taken.

Unfriendly nurses and doctors.

Not knowing where exactly I was supposed to go, ask any staff anywhere & they point you in the right direction. The doctor was every bit as knowledgeable as any doctor should be

We had an emergency on Saturday and were so grateful for the hands-on staff that assisted us. Dr. Cronje and Sr Bester attended to us. They are people driven and focused on life. Thank you for your help and care. Dr. Cronje even phoned on Sunday to ask how the patient was doing after he had been transferred to Unitas, which was truly going the extra mile.

I have been at LCM (Groenkloof hospital in Pretoria) for a small knee operation on Friday. What a lovely experience. Everyone was friendly, from the registration counter, the nurses, the porter, the physio and the doctor! Thank you for a lovely Friday!

Got in a car accident in the late PMs on a Friday, 19 August. The ambulance took us to Life Groenkloof Hospital. I received wonderful services from the nurse but there was this young female doctor who was horrendous. So i had severe back pains. I don’t know what she put in that drip but it was so strong that in the morning i felt 0 pain. I asked her for a doctor’s certificate and she refused, telling me that I am fine, i have no problem whatsoever and should be ready to return to school on the following week. Here I am still in pain and haven’t been to school ever since. I am still looking for that doctor’s name. She was horrible

Worst service and feedback we ever had waited almost 4 hours for service from a Doctor, hospitals these days wether it is a public or private they are all the same, fast to ask for admin fees but slow to deliver any service, this will be the last time we attend this hospital that is for sure.

Pitty I cant give zero stars! I waited 3 hours and still no doctor, with only one other patient in in the ER, I asked for a refund and will never return, Im going straight to suid afrikaans and will most likely still be helped before LCM would.

I spent 2 nights in hospital at Groenkloof. The nurses and doctors are top class, friendly and professional.

The big let down is the room quality and attention to detail. There was only one small light out of the 3 lights in my room in working order. Then also small things like making sure your patient's theatre gown fits and closes properly. My gown that was given to me could not even close from the back, leaving me exposed from the back.

Then the BIG one. The obsession with fish. I had no food due to the waiting time to go to theatre and went a day without food. Obviously, I was looking forward to a glorious breakfast. I could barely hold it together when I opened my breakfast dish when a unbearable stench of a very old fish cake welcomed me paired with dry toast, overdone scrambled egg and very cheap coffee.

As a patient, the small things makes me feel at home and leaves a lasting impression for me. This review is not to put the hospital in a bad light, it is to better the service and to give constructive feedback.

I suggest that the hospital have a very good look at healthy and tasty food options. Charge a R100-R200 more per day and give a awesome dish to your patient! This will sky rocket referrals and in the end be great for business! AND FOR GOODNESS SAKE, THROW AWAY THE FISH! Even my towel smelled like old fish!

Beside all this, I am healing and I am better thanks to Dr. Pretorius and his team! Thank you so much!

To add to comment, opt to go to urologist at Netcare Pretoria East and what amazing care from moment we stepped inside. They immediately assisted with wheelchair, no lines and extremely personnel. Poorest service/care I have ever experienced at a Life facility. It is now 20: 16 and we have been here at the emergency service with my elderly father since 5. Dr on call when we arrived not remotely friendly or helpfull and straight up told us we can go elsewhere. This is after GP referred us here. We need a negative rating option

Actually should be called Groenkloof Death.
No noise control. Don’t expect to sleep at all. Nurses shout non stop.
No pain control
No cleanliness. Other patients puke on you & they ignore it.
Avoid the High Care. It’s even worse than a day ward.
In High Care the alarms go off 25 times a night & they are ignored
The sisters do not update their log properly & later use the absence of notes to dispute your complaints.

While lying there in my own puke & urine I heard 4 sisters outside discussing that importing $1000 cellphones from the US was better than buying locally. Yes. That’s the economy they live in.

At 02: 00 my neighbour in the same room decided to put his TV on. Nothing was done until I growled.

In all this the food was ok. It’s plain but fine.

I’ll sooner die at home in quiet & care than go there again. ITS A DISGRACE.

The situation demands a comprehensive top down review starting with the Supervisor & matron.

I actually feel like paying some medical malpractice lawyers to investigate these reviews & open an appropriate high court case against the owners.

Avoid this place AT ALL COSTS
