Life Wilgers Hospital reviews
64The Trauma Unit at The Wilgers Hospital is a joke.we were there today after 12: 30 and there was no rush or urgency to assist us. The Trauma Unit was not busy.only 1 person before us. It is despicable the way how that part of the Hospital has deteriorated.very sad We left after 10 minutes and went to Intercare Glenfair Walk-in Centre. What a pleasure.we were immediately assisted.
Thanks for taking such good of my father in law. He was in General ICU and passed away there.
My father in law was admitted to wilgers 5 days ago. He is elderly and frail and unable to use a phone. We try to visit him daily and we have tried repeatedly to get into contact with the doctors treating him to no avail. He keeps getting moved to different wards and having surgeries without the family being informed. We phone multiple times per day to try and get updates as to the plan for his care but it's like talking to brick walls. Today we were told by a nurse that he was having a thyroidectomy only to arrive at the hospital to find he only had a drainage tube moved from one location to another. Totally unacceptable and unnecessarily stressful.
My wife and I came in to Wilgers hospital just after 1 with her experiencing excruciating pain. The doctor only saw my wife at 15: 30. When arriving the absolute lack of any urgency was the first thing I noticed. Then when she finally was seen they did blood and results took another hour and half. We asked to be transferred to Linmed as it is closer to home. It is now 19: 16 and I am still here waiting for the ambulance.
When I started asking where they are and if I can just take my wife myself it was met with annoyance and I am told to be patient. 6 hours in emergency department and I am being told to be patient. I had heard of this shocking ER at Wilgers but seeing it myself I can honestly not believe it.
To everyone that assisted me the last week in hospital. All the staff from ICU great service great food and great treatment on my back operation. Well done keep up the good standard. Mr Pienaar
Best hospital, best service.
Staff is always friendly and willing to help a patient. Never thought there can be so many friendly people at one place. Love all the personell here at Wilgers Oncology unit
How can a doctor order tests without informing me of the costs? In the amount of pain I was in I would have signed anything. Now bills are streaming in and I owe R5000 to various departments. All to be told, sorry, not sure what's wrong. And the problem hasn't even been solved. Inform the patients what they will be expected to pay before ordering the tests, or at least let the spouse know before.
Worst worst emergency room. Rudest doctor and didn't help my son at all. I took him there because it's my network hospital. I came home at 4. With a prescription of aspelone, throat lollies and acc. Nothing to nebulize hom with nothing for fever. It's 2 days later and he is still very ill. I got a bill of almost R800. She told me her shift is almost over and she don't know if she can help me. I don't know what to do in future and I don't know who I can trust to help me.
The worst ER in the private sector without a doubt. I went in at 9pm the nurses were terrible rude including the receptionists. After waiting 2 hours the terrible doctor was only willing to treat my self inflicted wounds if i agreed to be admitted, after another hour he called his supervisor only then to stitch me up and send me home. DISGRACE!
This hospital is the biggest joke and disgrace for the medical profession. FOUR hours without ANY medical attendance or help. Staff should be trained to explain to pasients why the hospital currently have NO system in place to help those in need. Minimum admission payment does not justify the BARE MINIMUM effort that was put in towards pasient care. We have a better chance at servival at a vetenarian clinic!
Worst emergency unit ever. My son got there at 10 am and has not been helped or seen to by 00: 20. People stay away, not wort it!
I rushed my son to the emergency services and he needed to go to theater but their system was offline so they could not get authorisation from my medical aid. I was left with 2 choices.go to another hospital or pay cash. I paid cash and even 3 days after the got authorisation from my medical aid they refuse to give me a refund!
Night shift nurses are mean and they take more than 2 hours to give prescription to leave. Very distasteful
This is the worst private hospital I have ever been to I arrived here at three Am yet I am still here my wife has not been assisted till now 13: 46 pm how different is this from a public hospital I regret bringing my wife here once bitten twice shy, if it were up to me I wouldn't even give of a single star, the stuff chit-chatting making a noise on the corridors while their patients sleep I am truly revolted
Hi Wilgers
I hope you find this well. I am very impressed with the service and good etiquette I received from Precious Mogolane, she is professional dedicated to her work. Makes it easier. Thank you so much for the good service rendered I will always recommend friends and family to Wilgers life hospital anytime.
Regards
Tobolo
Thank you to the hard working nurses and doctors whom have shown kindness and professionalism during hard times. No amount of gifts could express how thankful I am towards the doctors and staff that keep this hospital going. I highly recommend this modern, well kept hospital, for they truly have got your back no matter the circumstance.
My mother (90 yrs old) was admitted to the oncology ward for 3 days. I don't know what the duties are of nurses these days but she wasn't washed on any of the days she was there, it was left up to me. The meds she took with her were given to her all at once instead of being spread throughout the day. The drip machine was left to bleep endlessly once the solution was finished even though the nurses were in and out of the room and must have heard it. The food was good though. Not bad but not as good as I feel it should have been for a 90-yr old who cannot hear properly nor walk around without a walker.
Best hospital ever, friendly and professional staff all round from the Nurses to the cleaners! Special thanks to my doctor and the gynaecology ward!
Aggressive, feckless and rude staff. Waited extremely long (nearly 2 hours) for any feedback whatsoever as to the medical status of our admitted family member at the Emergency Room. We became worried and enquired (for a second time without success) for feedback from a nurse outside the ER when Dr A Griessel overheard us asking for feedback and aggressively charged from half way down the hall to ask "if there is a problem" like in a pub fight because she was irritated we were enquiring after receiving no feedback since admittance.
The first time we asked a nurse outside the ER how our family member was doing well over an hour after admittance she casually commented "I don't know" as if being asked what the weather will be like tomorrow (it was a medical emergency we were asking about) and she kept strolling along past the emergency cubicles only to stop to have a fat chat with her colleague. No attempt to find out who the patient is or to give any feedback. I dare the management of Wilgers hospital to admit one of their own family members to the ER there, and to be exposed to the personality of Dr A Griessel.
Stay away from Wilgers ER - rather go to Little Company of Mary if you need urgent professional medical care in Pretoria. Reading the reviews of the Wilgers ER it is obvious there is a serious problem with aggressiveness, rudeness and a general lack of caring. The hospital is beautiful and very well equipped it is such a pitty such horrendous staff is employed there (seems like a glorified state hospital instead of a state of the art porfessional private medical facility). Mass soft-skills training top to bottom is recommended and reading some of the other reviews it seems borderline medical malpractice was avoided so we came off lightly by only being treated like dirt by the staff.
