Marble Restaurant reviews
74 Marble Restaurant in Johannesburg was an absolute delight. Wonderful ambiance and intimate experience. Low light candles/lighting. Wine cellars aligned the wall of some of South Africa and international best wines.marble overlooks the city and provides an amazing view. The pictures on Google do not do this restaurant any justice. Service from the time you exit the car to the elevator on up and to the time you leave this establishment; you'll be treated like royalty. Our waitress was extremely polite, patient, and caring through the time of us dining here. If I want an elevated fine dining experience; this is the place.
However, I will say the fish was a tad bit overcooked for the price you pay, but that truly was my only complaint. All the other food was delicious, reasonable priced for fine dining and fulfilling. If you're visiting or living here and want to show out for a night, I would highly recommend Marble.
We booked a table for three for a lunch.the restaurant is hard to find (just a small stone outside of an elevater with the name marble) - BUT a super friendly man with a yellow umbrella will show you there:) the inside of the restaurant is incredible beautiful.never saw this kind of nice toilets honestly.the food was excellent (i had the 200g beef fillet). The wine menu is stunning! Five star.and hope to be back soon
For a very expensive restaurant the experience was not at all what I expected. The food was especially disappointing, tasteless, very fatty and was full of gristle and the service was no better than I have had at any franchise steakhouse. I have had far better steaks from the supermarket.
A very exotic and beautiful site with great menu.the food is first class, if you want impress someone. Take them here for a date
I mean we all been to Rosebank right, well if you are looking tranquil spot to chill and grab a bite then I suggest you visit Marble Restaurant. They have some amazing cuisine and you will enjoy every moment with every bite you take. What enjoyed the most was the Pork Chops, they were exceptional.
It's a exquisite place it is very modern and the food is Devine its is a beautiful place to sit and unwind our busy minds overlooking the ocean service is excellent and the atmosphere is overwhelming highly recommended
Considering the hype, I expected more when it comes to the environment itself. The food was great, and I would like to try more items on the menu. However, sitting close to the kitchen, the movement and the noise from their sound system was not to my liking. It is a wonderful place but not for a conversational dinner.
Style over substance.
Cocktails are fantastic.
Food is overpriced and bland.jersey beef prime rib @ R1450 was hugely disappointing - bland and tough.
Overall, for the money spent, a disappointing experience.
Very corporate crowd (this was a Tuesday mind)
The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, there's always someone helping you, from the door, to your table and waiters are super friendly. The food is freshly prepared in an open kitchen, the drinks were tops, the bread also delicious. I loved everything about it.
A sad disappointment. Marble is not fine dining, which we were expecting. Maybe I should have done my research better. We were looking for a soft atmosphere with brilliant food, but was greeted with the complete opposite.
When we entered, the noise was overbearing. My husband and I had to shout to hear one another. It was a party scene for the young and rich of joburg (which we are neither).
But the greatest disappointment was the food. For such high prices we expected more.
I had the avo ritz for a starter. The Avo was a avo cut in half, with a few prawns and mayo on top. Mediocre tasting. My husband’s oysters were devine. And the presentation of both dishes were good.
The main meal was the disappointment of the evening. My husband had the wagyu rib eye and I had the normal rib eye. The sides were lovely and very tasty. But the meat itself was bland. No flavour, just meat. It was also not done properly as requested and had to be sent back (which we don’t even do at Spur).
The only saving grace was the great service. Mike is an excellent waiter and attended to our needs with grace. The stunning sunset views were also nice.
I think Marble caters for a high end joburg buzz without delivering a real fine dining experience. Too expensive for foodies who enjoy “pretty food” and looking for a softer atmosphere.
Service was anticlimactic for such a prestigious restaurant. Food was OK, also nothing to write home about. I wouldn't spend that kind of money on dinner again.
Best restaurant I’ve been in, service is amazing, vibe is amazing, pricey yet worth it, bathrooms are so elegant, food so good that the only is I wish the portions were bigger, but I am a big guy so ️
Concierge 5, the hostess took my belongings including a wet motorcycle helmet and didn't seem disgusted for being wet from the rain.
Atmosphere and layout 5, practical, thoughtful and not over the top decor.
Service 5, experienced waiters, they didn't bother you every 20 minutes to ask if you're ok. Which get irritating when not done correctly.
Food 4, superb food but I'm expecting a wow factor on the food.
Loved it except the fact that they do not allow taking pictures with a flash on. But the food was so amazing! The ambience beautiful
Proper restuarent, cozy, and wide variety of succulent dishes. The service is also proffesional and outstanding.
Such a special evening celebrating our anniversary at Marble. Had an amazing experience from the time we walked in. The food was absolutely delicious and they definitely pay a lot of attention to detail in terms of presentation. A little noisier than expected but an overall great vibe. Service was on point. Will definitely recommend it.
Trendy place With great atmosphere. Noisy and overpriced. Meats were great, but my fish was way overcooked.
The restaurant is beautiful and the venue superb. The starter of French onion soup was spectacular. I’ve been to France and this soup was better than anything I had there. My main meal was good but the steak was not as nice as expected. I ordered the Cesar salad and it was not good at all. The anchovy fillets were very fishy and laid on the salad and not in the salad dressing as it should. I sent it back and ordered the caprese salad. It was nice but the whole plate was ice cold. The mozzarella and tomato’s where very cold when this salad should be at room temperature to maximize the flavor. The cheesecake was average. The mojito I ordered was full of ice and very little drink. Considering what they charge, there should be more liquid than ice. The biggest saving grace was the staff. They are the best trained wait staff I have encountered and they were very attentive and on the ball. It was a good experience to go but not worth the money charged for the quality of the food.
Food and drinks were on point! We sat at the bar and the mixologist were absolutely super, definitely going back
