Mediclinic Midstream reviews
76I had the best experience staying in the obstetrics ward with the birth of my son. The nurses were incredibly friendly and helped guide me in my first days of motherhood. The food was delicious, my room was very clean, and my bed was extremely comfortable.
This hospital.is dirty. House keeping is shocking. Surgical Wards, toilets, showers shockingly dirty all the time: (
Well managed hospital. Best doctors and nurses. Cleanliness 100% staff attitude 100% also nice meals.
Shocking service at this so called private hospital, my dad was in hospital for surgeries last year and it was disgusting service the nurses are incompetent careless and you cannot believe you pay a premium, the managers were just as useless when we complained. Now in an emergency where my husband cannot even walk he is in such severe pain and they left him there for hours, no beds available no doctors but said pay R9000, going to inform discovery of their shocking service and why pay premium prices for rubbish.
Worst experience in an ER. In the case of a severely ill, debilitated elderly patient: the ER doctor treats family members like annoyances, the admin staff doesn't inform family members of requirements to speed admission along. We arrived at 22: 30 and by 04: 00 (5.5hours of waiting) the patient has still not been admitted to Critical Care like the specialist instructed. Some of the nurses are very friendly and caring. What happens to people who do not have family to support them? Are the simply left in the ER to rack up an astronomical bill before they are finally transferred? Unethical!
I was admitted on the 20th of October 2023.
The best care I have ever received at a hospital. From the emergency room to admissions and surgical all staff are friendly, efficient and caring. Rooms are clean and super comfortable. 100% worth the drive from Hartbeespoort. Thank you Midsteam Medi Clinic.
Had some difficulties initially. As soon as I spoke to the customer experience manager, she managed to reach out to all the areas and sorted out all items for us. Thanks a lot
I was admitted to the Midstream Mediclinic maternity ward from 22-25 August. The care that I received was outstanding. The nursing staff goes out of their way to make the post natal stay as comfortable as they can. They are very caring, both towards you as a new mother as well as to your baby. The nursery staff always has a smile on their faces and care for your baby as they would for their own. All your needs as a new mother is met and the maternity ward team makes sure all the admin is also done. Well runned department by the whole multidisciplinary team.
Excellent hospital with modern facilities, very knowledgeable medical experts and friendly nursing staff. After a series of admissions to 5 other Mediclinics, my dad spent 7 days in Mediclinic Midstream ICU and a few in a general ward. Compared to other Mediclinics this was the best hospital by far.we were thankful he ended up being treated here.
Very poor service at the ER with a rude and unprofessional nurse. Transferred to Mediclinic Morningside. They are providing us with excellent service. We won't go back to Midstream.
Recently had to take my Son to midstream Hospital. We went to casualties and then later had got admitted to the pediatric ward. All the staff were amazing, super helpful and attentive throughout. From the staff in emergency to the pediatric ward. Thank you so much
Love this hospital emergency room is so thoughtful and excellent from the doctor to the nurses and the radiologist this hospital is amazing
To Eberhard Steinmann from Medi-Clinic Midstream, and your incompetent and illiterate staff in the accounts team. I'm disgusted. I'm disappointed, and I'm sick to my stomach.
The matter relates to my mother, she was a private patient, admitted through casualties on 21 April, 2023 - on her birthday.
Sadly, my mother passed away on 23 April 2023 in Medi-Clinic Midstream.
On 25 April 2023, I received the final statement, reflecting that a credit is due to us, from yourselves.
On 25 April, I contacted your accounts team and I was told and it was confirmed that you have everything you need, in order to process the refund. It takes up to 7 business days.
I followed up with your accounts team on 05 May, 2023. This is where the absurd and bizarre chain of events started. I was asked for proof of payments of the initial deposits made - after you have sent me a final statement reflecting the deposit made, I was asked for a refund form, after I completed same on 21 April 2023 on admission of my mother. The proof of payments was also sent to your accounts team on 21 April 2023, and your accounts team "miraculously" only found same proof, on 05 May 2023.
Today is Monday, 8 May 2023 and I am still waiting for my refund. After fighting, after asking, after begging, after calling, after following up.
You stole my money Medi-Clinic Midstream. You owe me money. You have acknowledged same on the statement you sent to me on 25 April 2023 via email and telephonically.
I am still waiting. I am still fighting and I am still trying to get the credit back from the deposit paid.
To the public: I've given Medi-Clinic Midstream 7 business days notice of formal escalation, if said refund has not be processed. I would steer clear, if I were you. They are hungry money wolves, praying to mammon, the god of money, and don't care any further. Be careful. Be very very careful.
31 December 2022,16h45pm, surgical ward.a stern knock on the door followed by a man barging in. This white man screams at my 4 year old nephew and then thinks that's okay. My sister is fresh out of surgery and now this white man thinks he can just open the door and violate our personal space. The staff just sat there and watched, this is totally unacceptable. I don't feel safe leaving her here, knowing there's lunatics that can walk in at any time, without any consideration for personal space.
Dr Steyn and neurology staff provides exceptional services. Hospital stay, food, nurses, the overall compassionate and friendly assistance towards patients deserves a public THANK YOU. D. Fourie.
After visiting numerous hospitals in the past two years (even in Switzerland an France) I can say with confidence that Midstream is one of the best health care facilities in the world. Friendly, informed staff, sufficient service and prompt response to the call bell. The most important thing is the quietness of the hospital. One can sleep end get better. No noice zone in the entire hospital.
Well done, keep up the good work!
I gave birth on the 16 Nov 2022 and got such a beautiful support from the nurses and Doctor. My room was always clean and the food service was amazing at all the times.
Worst Hospital experience. Hospital chosen by Physician. I will not use a Mediclinic again.
Nurses are untrained and undisciplined. Night staff in surgical ward have a party with no concern for patients.
The cost of 1 night with Theatre of R136,000 was a total ripoff. Had to disconnect BP monitoring equipment to get attention (water) and then nurses refused to reconnect and woke me every hour to take readings. Couldn't switch off light over bed. “Lockable” cupboard did not lock. Maintenance staff not available. Came out of theatre and conscious at 19.00. Didn't/couldn't get tea or dinner.
This is the worst hospital experience I’ve ever had!
I’ve never been to a public hospital but the experience here, felt very close to the horror stories we read about Public hospitals.
The nurses lack professionalism (Maternity ward) :
The nurses do not care for patients, very negligent of their duties and most seems unsure about what they are doing. I had to consistently remind the nurses to give me my medication as Dr prescribed (Time and/or Dosage).
I witnessed one nurse “rolling eyes” as the Dr gave orders, a very disgusting sight.
Hygiene standards are disappointing:
I noticed a few minutes after being given a bed that the bedding had blood, I told the nurse and she only replaced the duvet cover that had blood, she didn’t even care to change the sheet and pillow case cover. The blood on the duvet cover obviously suggested that another patient was on that same bed and the bedding was never changed.
The toilet paper ran out, just after 2 visits to the bathroom, I had to use paper towels to wipe.
Worst hospital experience!
