Dr Govender is the best. But the rest of the staff are absolutelly useless. Husband is on blood thinners needs stitches is bleeding in the front and they are sitting chatting and not even looking up at us

Absolutely Pathetic. No sense of urgency whatsoever, especially at the nurses station. Save yourself hours and rather go elsewhere!

Reception staff is absolutely pathetic. Rude, arrogant and they treat you like rubbish and as if you are a criminal. Your reception is first contact and the way they treat people should be a lasting, professional and good experience.you medicross benoni fall far short from this.

I have seen some of the bad reviews regarding this place and I cannot, however, agree as I was there today and saw a fantastic Dr Dirk van Niekerk.
I walked in and the receptionist that helped me was efficient and friendly. Filled in the forms, paid and then waited for about 10 minutes and the Dr saw me.
The Dr was exceptionally professional and really helpful in answering all my questions.
After getting my script went to the Clicks pharmacy on site and was served with a friendly smile.

Came from durban. Took my wife here. We are sitting here already for 1 hour in the waiting room because the medicross only has 2 doctors. By all the bad reviews it looks like this is a common issue. I should have rather taken a drive to the hospital. Now I know better. I will be taking this up with the head office once this is over.

BEWARE: The Doctors have a tendency of loading medical claims incorrectly for things they have not diagnosed or consulted you for, they did this with my son and the medical aid denied to pay for this.ended up paying this ourselves only to find the Dr entered the incorrect code when logging the claim.still to date waiting for our refund,

This is genuinely just a awful place. Doesn't matter if you make an appointment you'll still wait 1-2 hours longer. No helpful staff and the place is pretty dirty.

Appointments need to be made in advance. Reception could be friendlier. Pharmacy always busy but helpful and friendly at least.

Second review: Beware that you are paying for a service that you might not receive.

I called on 1 September 2023 as my previous chronic medication script Dr. Le Roux wrote out for me expired and requested a new script. I was informed to come and pay R300.00 for the script which I did at 10h38 on the same day. When I arrived I said to the PayPoint station that I was there to pay for my script and was told that I must first write an email then come in get a ticket and then pay for the script. They then quibbled between themselves as to who spoke to me this morning. I left the facility as I was not in the mood for a blame game.

As I sat in my car one of the administration staff came to the car and asked that I come in and she would handle everything as she had my file and she spoke to me. I went in and made the payment.

At 15h02 I called the nurse's station to inquire about the script as I didn't get any phone call from Dr. Le Roux and knew I wasn't going to get any call before they closed at 17h00. I was told that the doctor was very busy and that he would call as soon as he had a quiet time.

I have paid for a service and haven't received what I paid for.

On 2 September 2023 at 10h00, I went back to Medicross to inquire about the script only to be told by the administration staff and confirmed by the Clinic Manager that Dr. Le Roux allegedly accused me of threatening him on 1 September 2023. As I didn't have any communication from him on 1 September 2023 via SMS, email, or telephone, I could never have threatened him as I never spoke to Dr. Le Roux at all I had a witness who was with me the whole day. This allegation comes from a Christian which is totally false. I then spoke to the Clinic Manager who assisted me with a script that I paid for. In my opinion, I feel that Dr. Le Roux and Medicross have forgotten The Hippocratic Oath - a pledge taken by medical professionals to uphold ethical standards and provide the best care possible to their patients - they took years ago to first look after the patient. To them, money has become more important.

First Review: I want to warn people who go to Medicross Benoni, especially over the weekends when Locum doctors are the only ones on duty. I was there on Saturday 18 February 2023 with explosive diarrhea. The Locum I saw diagnosed the symptoms correctly however I was told that I would feel better by Sunday morning. Which was totally the opposite. The Locum also said she would leave my name and instructions at reception when I called on Sunday reception only had my name with no instructions. No doctor is available. I was then put through to the nurse's station and spoke to Joy and asked that they inform my doctor (Dr. Le Roux) that I was not getting better. I was told they don't have the doctor's numbers. I never asked for his number. I asked them to call him to find out what must be done. To no avail.

I called again on Monday morning to request a sick note as I wasn't able to go to work due to the explosive diarrhea. I called again at just after 12h00 to request the sick note be emailed to me. At 15h00 I emailed Medicross requesting the sick note to be emailed to me. At 16h00 I called again and still nothing.

On Tuesday 21 February 2023 with the explosive diarrhea still active I had to drive 30km i.e. 60km there and back to collect the sick note myself. This is gross ignorance and incompetence.

Went to the Dr because of extreme pain, redness and hardening in my stomach after a c-section, Dr said I should belly bind, it's only water. After a week, the redness turned blue, went to another Dr and it was determined I have a massive abses which could have burst any moment without PROPER treatment ASAP. I was wrongfully diagnosed for a second time. Never the same Dr when I get there. Spent a R1000 for nothing. I honestly feel that they need to review their Dr's, especially the weekend Dr's, they obviously don't want to be there and get people in and out as fast as possible. Will never again visit this practice.

I actually only give ONE STAR to the pathetic receptionists who are always miserable and not willing to do their jobs at all! I wanted to make a 'telephonic booking' with my doctor, but due to loadshedding and network problems, was not able to get through. So I popped into Medicross to make a telephonic appointment, at my Dr's earliest convenience. The receptionist told me it was impossible for her to do this for me IN PERSON, as I had to phone in. I told her that didnt make sense whether I phoned and booked with her, or stood in front of her and booked with to her. She then told me if I have a problem with this, I could speak to her manager that was sitting opposite her. I walked the 2metres across the room to her manager, Janet Painter, WHO IS FANTASTIC AND THESE 5 STARS ARE ALL FOR HER AND ONLY HER! I explained my conversation with the receptionist, and Janet explained that that was complete rubbish and I could definitely book it. She immediately took my details, and booked me a telephonic booking with my Dr for the next day. She helped me in minutes! JANET WAS FRIENDLY HELPFUL POLITE AND AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH! I guess Receptionist, that's why she's a manager and you are not!
MEDICROSS. I HOPE YOU GIVE JANET A PAY INCREASE FOR HAVING TO DO TWO JOBS. BOTH HER JOB AND THE PATHETIC RECEPTIONIST JOB!

The dental accounts department is so incompetant that they submitted the wrong code to medical aid - and then the account gets handed over when the medical aid found the mistake and withdrew the payment months later. The so-called manager couldn't care less just stating that it's now the patient liability - AFTER YOUR ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT MADE THE MISTAKE.

The most wonderful Drs but the receptionist have no people skills and have no idea how to welcome patients who already feel sick. Medicross really need to upgrade their skills. It is like this every time I visit Medicross. Very rude and unprofessional. Took almost 30min to find my file.

Very bad service. Wouldn't waste my time coming here again. Can see why they are 2.1 stars. You make a booking and you must still wait. People after you get assisted forst and you weren't late, but their appointment is after yours. Speaking to the receptionist is like speaking to the wall

Absolutely worst service! I called them for an appointment and they kept transferring my call to one person to another for seven times during my call and finally they dropped the call.

Closing time is stated as 13: 30 for a Sunday Today at 12: 30 reception refused to assist us at stating that all doctors had left for the day. Fix your signange or adhere to your stated times.

Worst service you could ever recieve book an appointment come 15 min early with no one in a waiting room and still land up waiting close to an hour and a half to see the doctor please explain to me what is the point if booking a appointment if you only gonna be seen 3 hours after arriving

Having competent and genuinely friendly doctors is great but does very little to the wait time for each appointment. No use in being on time or even 10min early.

They close randomly whenever they feel like it, we arrived at 11 30 and they told us they are closed because the doctors want to leave early even tho closing times are at 13: 30, their excuse was "homeaffairs can do it so why can't we" the absolute worst service. Do not come here, rather stay at home and die, your chances are better.
