Mount Grace Hotel & Spa reviews
36Breath taking views.lovely place to relax and unwind.the menu for dinner and bfast is quite wide
There are different types of Rooms. For those who would love privacy, there are chalets with their own private swimming pools.
I love the nice luxury cabin feel, surrounded by trees and birds chirping in the surroundings.
They have golf carts used to collect the guests to/from the reception, rooms, spa, gym, conference rooms, and restaurants.etc

Beautiful location with amazing staff. Definitely a place you can and must keep going back too. They truly care about great service and go out of their way to assist. Thank you Barend and Michael for taking the time to listen to our feedback and be people of substance. Rooms do need a bit of maintsince and upgrades which I believe will.start soon. Breakfast is amazing! There is no evening entertainment at/after dinner like other hotels.
Some of the older rooms could do with a carpet clean. The service was patchy. Our waiter Lucky was fantastic but the rest of the time the service was slow. The food overall was not great with very limited vegetarian options, smallish portions, poor quality and not tasty.
Mount Grace Hotel & Spa is a jewel in the middle of the most majestic Magalies mountains. It was our first visit and definitely not our last. From the Spa to the hotel we received excellent service. Our rooms was spacious and very neat. We had a most scrumptious dinner and the breakfast was exceptional.
Secluded in the beautiful bush surroundings. Can enjoy walks with beautiful sights. Rooms have the nostalgia of old luxury. Unfortunetly Covid has everyone strapping their belts tighter, but a few upgrades would actually be good. The food and drinks are really expensive, as well as the Spa's treatment. Budget well for this break away.
Don't forget to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ. ᴄᴏᴍ when booking your place. This website will compare hundreds of booking websites and normally will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome:)! This hotel is the best rated in the area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you definitely won't regret it.
Awesome service from reception to the room service. Well done all.you make it worth while.
Very relaxing and peaceful, the staff is very friendly, food was very nice and the place is clean
Amazing experience. Staff is friendly and professional, facilities are sanitary. The spa is breath taking. Would definitely recommend for visiting.
Very nice with heated pools and great service from its staff. Proper rooms and just on point. Perfect for a couple.
I chose this spot because it was a short drive from Johannesburg and had been recommended by a relative. I didn’t check any reviews and I’m so glad I didn’t because I wouldn’t have booked this hotel. When guests are upset with the service or accommodation they should bring it up with management and it may change their experience around rather than rushing to give negative reviews. Upon arrival I was feeling so disappointed with the room and a few other things however I emailed the man himself “Anthony Da Silva” and he was more than accommodating - in fact he responded to my emails within less than half an hour each time. Not only that - one of the mornings he was driving guests around in the Uber golf carts within the premises himself and he personally apologised for our inconveniences. The property is in need of renovation (hence I didn’t give 5*’s) however they are working on it and whilst it is on the pricey side - you are paying for the location and the view. You will find better hotels in Johannesburg and Pretoria at the same price maybe even less however the location won’t be as beautiful as this.
The spa facilities were great as were the staff and property.
World class accommodation and conferencing. Spacious rooms with plenty of living space and the staff are always ready to assist with a smile
The reception staff was great and accommodating, but the restaurant staff was not welcoming and wouldn't serve us food. We eventually had to leave and went to another restaurant to eat. It was a shame because it's beautiful. The two stars are for the reception staff, the rest was very disappointing.
I was happy with their service and they cleaned up the room and everything was perfect. They also served us well at the puffy house and the food was nice, the waiter and waitresses were very good /excellent. My wish is to to come back.
Ask for 2 soft eggs for and this is what you’ll get. Courtesy of esteemed chef. Now where is that Magaliesburg Wimpy?
Mount Grace Hotel & Spa (MGHS) is a great place for a getaway for a weekend or more days. It is about 1h-1h30m from JHB and offers calmness, primarily because of its location. Visitors are treated with great service and overall service during stay is also great and prompt. There are a couple of restaurants to choose from which allows for a different view and dining experience each day. Rooms are adequately sized but the fun is in exploring the surrounds of MGHS. Due to COVID protocols, the few amenities offered could not be utilized / experienced by guests. The pool was not cleaned (which we have experienced both times we have been here) ; this could currently be due to COVID protocols, but with the large tree over the pool, there is constantly leaves in the pool. If there is a way to have the pool in a clean condition all the time (maybe enclosing it in a glass structure), it could easily attract guests to use the pool without much thought. Kids Club was closed due to COVID protocol but is a welcome offer for parents with young children. There are attractions and service providers in a radius of 20min that can keep guests entertained. Overall, MGHS is an international-like hotel experience for SAs, but at a premium. It is worth experiencing it though.
Excellent layout, secluded location.
Plenty activities for the entire family.
Excellent service
Amazing, just out of JHB getaway for the weekend location. Family friendly with everything you need to unwind. The staff are amazing and some of the friendliest and most well co ordinated people I've met. I highly recommend having a picnic on the lawn.
Wooooow.what a beautiful place. Very private and hidden from the public eye. Even the entrance is not too visible.tricky driveway. Nature at its best. Nice quite and serene. Freidnly service and staff. Good food. Perfect for privacy.and a nice getaway from the city noise
Haven't been to Mount Grace in Magaliesburg since Tsogo Sun reopened the property last year, so we were interested to see what the new management have been doing. We had lunch on the Terrace, staff very attentive and the food (gourmet burger, and steak roll with delicious potato wedgies) was well prepared to our specification and good value. The building and gardens are looking stunning and provide a wonderful backdrop to a relaxed lunch on the terrace. Understandably the place was very quiet due to the Covid situation, but it would have been nice to see more people supporting the hotel and restaurant. We will definitely be back again.
