Pappas On The Square

The food here has just okay. Not great and not terrible. The portions were small and the price is expensive. The staff are a bit pretentious and not very friendly. Best part of this restaurant is the drinks.

Greek cuisine at its finest. Fine dining atmosphere located in the heart of Nelson Mandela Square.

Superb food, atmosphere & service. Calamari is tender and well seasoned, the Lamb burger and mint yoghurt just goes so well together, lamb phyllo is delectable and the greek fries perfect consistency. I just love how they serve complimentary pita, tarama & humus instead of traditional bread & butter before dinner. Always a go to when you don't know where to eat. Just love Pappa's!

The souvlaki was out of this world. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture. Also their Greek salad is the best one I had in my life, the feta was creamy and not salty at all.

Balcony especially was a delightful place to dine on the Mandela square. The service was great and traditional Greek food too. The food reminded me of another great Greek restaurant in Cape Town Mano's.

We asked for the table outside around 3 pm, which is empty, and was told reserved. If fact no one coming until we left

Food quality bad, when you tell the waiters they make excuses for the bad food and then charge you for it. Won't go back.

What an amazing treat to have the belly dancer come out with flames and dance in between patrons. She really gave us a treat of Greece. We ordered from a set menu. Starters to share for the table included halloumi, squid head, calamari and lamb sticks. A selection of mains are available.

Was so disappeared. Been a while since I have been but it used to be really good. This time I got VERY DRY chicken and equally dry veggies on the side. I should have just had oysters. They looked good on the table next to us.

Excellent food, mainly Mediterranean & Greek, with Greek music.
Good service they go out of their way to please you.
Prices very reasonable for location. Good choice of wine & drinks menu.

We love going to Pappas. The ambience is excellent. The staff ever so friendly and efficient.
We tried for the first time the Steak on the Rock. It was so good. Do try it.

The others had the Greek chicken and some the Fish.
All were so good.

Shocking food quality. Never go there. Service is great. Location is great but food quality is very bad. No value what so ever.

Their steak one rock is brilliant.
They offer small, medium and large meals which is great.
Service was good. They have a variety of meals with fairly proced offerings.

Bought a pulled lamb wrap around 14h30 on 19 Sept 2019 at the Pappas Lunch counter in Mandela Square. I commented on the hygiene of one of the waiters who touched his lip and scratched his armpit while preparing to make the wrap. I should've stopped and walked away. I've been feeling really ill and nauseous with stomach cramps since 5pm. I've just been violently sick and the wrap is the only food I ate today. I'm really disappointed because I've always held Pappas in high regard.
