Pick n Pay Hillcrest Boulevard reviews
28Terrible long lines. Usually go there for large grocery shopping, but I now prefer to use another shop. Stood in a line for 20 minutes, then decided to move to another line. Eventually, I saw that no line was moving at all. Guess there was no manager or something, but everyone just stood still. I saw there were people who just left and put their groceries down at the isles near the tills. It became massive after a while because of everyone leaving. Terribly management.
It is considerate of Pick n Pay to give students free coffee on Wednesdays and we appreciate it. We came here last Wednesday for the free coffee for students and the lady who helped us was very kind and helpful. We come here often as it is very close to our home and convenient for last minute groceries. Unfortunately we have had some bad experiences here where the staff is not helpful and we stand in the longest lines you will ever see. Today we went at 15: 10 for the student coffee and when someone finally assisted us they told us it is changed to 8: 00-15: 00 this was very disappointing as we looked forward to the coffee the whole day. Nowhere does it say that the coffee special is only till 3 o’clock and I took a picture of the sign as proof. I am disappointed in the service we have received and false advertisement.
Friendly and very helpful management and staff. Willing to go the extra mile. Outlet cater for all your basic needs.
I bought the premarinated braai chicken flatties. 2 whole punnets, meaning 2 full chickens. When cooking them, an unpleasant smell started and when tasted, they were ALL off. It wasn't even near the expiry date and I can't return the items. What a waste a waste of money.
DON'T BUY ONLINE FROM PnP!
They advertise products which they DON'T have in stock.
Then make you pay for those products.
When the products get delivered after an hour or more there's a number of products SOLD OUT!
But they keep the money for those products!
Same thought pattern as the current regime.they rob you in broad daylight!
Warn all you friends and family!
No ques n they have friendly staff, the store is always clean I like shopping in this store
I like the new look, everything can be easily found, not needed to bother PnP staff where certain things are, new tills, coffee & smoothly station everything is excellent, except me not getting my Pap and gravy again, I gave to go somewhere to buy them, otherwise I am super happy!
This is a convenient store for a quick dash for a few things. It wasn't really full when we went there so it was a pleasant enough experience.
Nice makeover, but tons of product blocking the isles. Half of breadroll selection not available at 10: 30. Prices missing on shelves. One product had no price, 5 days later still the same, no price. This shop is typical of the degredation of SA under Anc rule. Lose another star.
It's always dirty, the deli is terrible and the meat area has a strange smell, but if you're in a rush and in the area I suppose you could go there.
Much improved, in the past it has been rather smelly and dirty.but much better. Staff more helpful and shelves attractive. All in all worth visiting again for their bargains and range of foods.
Twice I went there and couldn't find what I was looking for. And when you ask the staff, they simply say they don't know what I'm looking for or they haven't seen it on their shelves.
Could be better.prices on shelf and till dont always match. Price at till forever different (higher) than shelves
Decent selection, not always in stock, sometimes long lines, but that's the same for most grocery stores.
Took a friend there twice on one day for a function at our old age home. The bakery had very nice fresh bread. We were helped at the till with fast service
At 17: 00 only two tills were open, meaning the queues were endless. I left in a hurry, since I could also not find the product I was looking for.
Friendly and helpful staff that will go out of their way to assist all customers. Shelves are well stocked and priced.
The place is not full if you are looking to have a nice relaxed shopping this is the best place to do so
For the food! The service is horrendous I would be extremely embarrassed if that was my business!
This doesn’t specifically pertain to this store, I’m sure this happens everywhere but this has happened to me so many times at this store and at the centre that I had to say something about it. Evert single time I’ve visited this Pick N Pay and the entire Hillcrest Boulevard centre for that matter, alone as a women, I have been harassed by male employees (who have probably just finished their shifts) waiting outside the store. I’ve been cat-called every single time and stared at inappropriately, comments have been made about my body and I am sick and tired of it. I feel unsafe, I feel objectified to the point where I will not go shopping there without brining a male friend along with me. It doesn’t feel safe to shop there alone as a woman.
