33This restaurant was amazing. The food, the portions, the service. Can't say enough about this amazing place.
I took my friend out to the restaurant and it was her first time visiting Emperor's palace. We chose Platia as we wanted to try out something different.
We both ordered their chicken pasta, unfortunately. It tasted horrible and was not even presentable. It was extremely blend and we both couldn't finish our dishes. What a waste of money!
When we told the waiter about the food, she simply said "It's not my fault, I am not the chef". After all that she had the audacity to ask for a tip.
The manager was sitting right next to our table and heard all of our comments and conversation with the waiter, however, he said nothing.
They really need to do something about their chicken pasta!
I have been to Platia a few times and they never disappoint, everything about the restaurant gets 5 stars from me
The food is delicious HOWEVER the lack of hygiene from the waiters is another "story". The one male was picking his nose and the female at the entrance was scratching pimples in her face - absolutely gross.
Upon arrival the waitresses gave us attitude and wanted to force us to sit at a table at some corner. Good attendance was only given to whites as we are black.the Waitresses had had attitude honestly.
The food was to die for, absolutely superb! And our server, Cleopatra, was phenomenal! She was helpful, friendly and overall Amazing! Definitely will be going back soon!
Food was disappointing. Cold snails and chewy chips. It's changed a bit since I was last there, but it's not better off after said change.

It was my husbands birthday yesterday. We had not booked. The manager came to check up on us. Told her it was my husbands birthday. 2 minutes later she came back with rose petals for our table, made Ice cream for him. The friendly stuff made it extra special. We had a beautiful evening. We will definitely be back soon️

Lovely spot who made tasty meals. 1 meals portion size was a little small but otherwise a really great experience.
Very disappointing experience. I went here on New Year’s Eve with some friends. The service was quite slow, while I understand this is a very busy evening the restaurant was nowhere near capacity.
Big speakers playing loud music made it very difficult to even speak to someone next to you, not appropriate for the atmosphere of this restaurant and extremely annoying.
The milkshake I had tasted watered down, the chicken pasta was very bland and not worth the price at all (R160). My friend ordered Humus with his meal which didn’t arrive and he had to cancel it.
Overall I felt the money I spent here was wasted, there are much better places to go at better price ranges as well.
We went on new year's eve 2022 and we did not regret our choice. Excellent & friendly atmosphere, the DJ was on point, and the food was absolutely fantastic.

Good food, great staff, what a awesome experience, but what really blew my mind was the great special that they had on their Eisbein! But overall, i definitely recommend this place!
We were ravenous after a movie and decided to try Platia taverna rather than some of the usual chain restaurants, and I'm so glad we did!
We were served a complimentary hot bun with butter on a plate with crumbed feta, jalapeno pepper and cherry tomatoes. Nice appetizer indeed!
The grilled Calamari was superb, and while I initially thought the Chicken pasta was a bit overpriced, when they set down the enormous pasta bowl with a delectable creamy sauce covering the tagliatelle garnished with coriander, peppadews (if I recall correctly) and chicken I was blown away!
Definitely top notch in my humble opinion.
The waiter was very friendly and offered super service to our table, even taking a few group photos for us!
Oh and the ambiance inside Emperors palace greatly complimented the experience!
The food was spectacular! The Zucchini fries were heavenly. As was the halloumi. We had a wonderful time and Cleo made the experience top notch with her great service. I highly recommend the watermelon cosmopolitan.
