Great trails for hiking. Magnificent views at the top. Done both 13km and 18km trails, good combination of workout, nature experience, views and the works.

They need to do something about the delays at the gate, thrice spent just over 30mins there due to the slow sign in process there. Surely there’re more convenient faster ways to handle this achieving the same desired result?

We did 13km and it was very hard but I enjoyed the beautiful view on top, the trail was well marked and the swimming pool was refreshing after our hardest climb but the gravel road to the venue is not well maintained

Of all the hike I did so far, this is was the toughies.loved taking a dip in the pool after hiking for 14km.
Please just do something about the road, the GTI people were struggling. Had a great day

I did the 13 km karee trail which were clearly marked from beginning till end. The recommended carry water was 3L with an average of 6 hours walking time. At the end if the hike we cooled off in their amazing pool.

Had an amazing stay there over the weekend! Everyone was so kind and the trail we hiked was amazing. The farmhouse was really comfortable and the pool was amazing. The staff was also brilliant, they went out of their way to return something to me that i left behind.
10/10 would recommend for an amazing stay

The area is beautiful and clean. Once you are at the top the view is amazing. Did a 13 Km with my friends and this was one of the most challenging hikes I've ever done. I'm not sure if I found it challenging because I am unfit or the 13 Km is simply challenging on its own. If you are unfit mentally and physically then I don't recommend this hike.

If you aspire to be an extreme hiker, Rustig hiking trail is for you. At the end of the hike, you can order a meal or sit down on the side of the pool to reminisce about the mountain you just conquered. Challenging but beautiful

Beautiful, scenic hike. Map and information was provided before the hike started. We did the 9km hike. It is not for the fainthearted. It was difficult. Lots of steep climbs, loose rocks. Took 5 hours to complete. But the views are stunning. Eat a good breakfast before starting. U will need the energy. You will need lots of water (abt 3l per person), sunblock, a hat, hiking pole, good hiking shoes. Not suitable for small children

I loved the fact that this hike challenged me. Will be back. Clean, neat facilities. Carry swimwear for a dip in the pool after. Braai facilities available but u are required to book in advance. Book and pay online for hike as well. Friendly owners. Well managed.

Road to get there is not tarred. U might need a 4x2 or 4x4.

Beautiful experience in nature with well marked hiking trails. Property is well kept and enjoyed the lovely swimming pool to cool off in after our hike.

A very nice venue, I can only guess that it used be one of the original farm houses back in the day, the hike is a good one but in certain places it can get slippery so wear proper hiking shoes, the trail does join up with the shelter rock trail near the top of the mountain, but they are both well marked so if you somehow finish your hike at shelter rock then you clearly weren't concentrating. Rustig has braai facilities and a huge pool and they also offer self catering accommodation, just be prepared that the dirt road leading into the place is a bit rough and will test your 4x4 skills driving any road vehicle especially when it's been raining. The owners and staff are very nice and welcoming

Did the overnight Karee Trail, absolutely loved it. It was tough and took us a while, the path is very rocky, lots of ups and downs. Also no water on this trail, the whole day, so need to bring at least 4-5 litres with you.

Great hike and beautiful views at the top! Challenging so expect to go through the 4 stages of hiking: excitement at signing up; regret while going up the mountain; exhilaration once you reach the top; and excitement for the next hike

Rustig is truly a tranquil, majestic get away. The hike was challenging and views breathtaking. Service was excellent, from our first encounter at the guard house right through to all staff and managent that were in attendance. To John and Thea, thank you to you and all the staff for making our stay so memorable, your professionalism and friendly manner makes Rustig a destination that I will certainly be re visiting. I have extended the invitation to my family and they too are looking forward to the wonderful experience.

We at a fantastic 5 km hike. It was quite challenging, but worth the view. After the hike you can enjoy a light lunch at the pool area.

Well organised setup. Bookings online and everything ran smooth when we got there. Beautiful trail, but definitely not for beginners. Elevation to 1670m (572m elevation gain) This is a steep climb and not for the faint hearted. Loved the challenge did the 9km, but there are a couple of different trails and they are marked very well.

Beautiful place with amazing food and atmosphere. The road is not normal vehicle friendly. Also amateur hackers be careful the 5km is arduous and at time dangerous.

Best hike I have done, fit hike to be specific and the view on the top is to die for.

A very beautiful day spent with friends hiking, it's not easy but worth it an experience of a lifetime. Loved it

Very good scenery. If you are into fitness hiking, this is very ideal. However, not ideal for kids and pets. You can do up to 18km trail hike. You can also do overnight hiking and sleep at very nice huts. Pre booking is mandatory. The terrain is characterized by rock formations and plateaus, grasslands biodiversity and of course mountain ranges are the home for baboons and birds.

We thought we were just coming over for a rigorous hike, but the place is so beautiful, nice and calm. You can be tempted to book on the spot and sleep over.
