Saigon Restaurant

Quite simply the worst meal I've eaten. You're better off ordering from Simply Asia. As for the price I paid, I want to cry. The photo is apparently a Tom Yum soup. Its really hot water with vegetables thrown in.

My favourite Joburg restaurant! You can't go wrong with the Mekong platter starter or Saigon wok beef with garlic egg fried rice for main.

Saigon is unique and we love it. Food and service is great, ambience is calming and intriguing. Firm favourite.

I lobe my food and this food was just yum Yum Yum! First time trying the place and I wasn't disappointed. No idea the name of what I ordered but the waiter was very helpful with recommendations. Also loved the green tea.and I'm not even a green tea typo-person!

The food was bland. We had a spinach dish and a tofu mushroom dish. Was supposed to be spicy but tasted like nothing. Added salt and did not help.

Wow how amazing! The food was super tasty like you have never had before. We had the Deluxe for two. The starters spring roll and beef and soup so so delicious. The pepper prawn main was SO tasty and for a guy that never eat peppers says a lot. The sweet and sour dish with rice out of this world. At the end the desert was also so very nice but just a little bit much for us. We will def be back. A date night to remember.

Had the best meal at this restaurant yesterday. Service, food and ambiance amazing. Compares with the best overseas Asian restaurants that I have been to.

First time at this Vietnamese restaurant. Loved the atmosphere. It was different and refreshing. I also loved the experience - the starter was amazing.

I had a Barbeque duck dish for main and it was average. The duck was a bit dry and the barbecue sauce was a bit too sweet (won't be your favorite if you're not a sweet tooth.) But the spagethi was a perfect balance? I saw other meals there that looked more juicy so if I do go back I'm definitely trying those.

Had a deep fried ice cream for dessert. It was huge - if I wasn't so full already I would have finished it. It was also amazing.

The service was also good. Our waiter knew the menu and gave great recommendations.

I would definitely try this place for the different experience.

It's an institution that has lots it's shine. I have not been in years and had high expectations. However I found it was as bit over priced for what you get and the food was pretty arbitrary.

Tried Vietnamese food for the first time with my partner and Absolutely blown away with my food! Very impressed with the staff and the delicious food. Keep it up team

This place is amazing! We have been looking for authentic pho and this just tastes like the pho we used to eat in LA. The broth is authentic, the meat is fresh and the veggies are fresh. We also enjoyed the fresh spring rolls. Would definitely come back here again!

If there were more than five stars to give, I would. This is the biggest gem of Johannesburg! Service amazing and we had the set menu, with each course just more amazing than the previous one. Perfect prawns, beef and mousse as well as pavlova. Every dish was so well-balanced! Really a must!

Great, authentic Vietnamese food. Probably the only place where you will find Pho. I would prefer the broth served on a slow cooker to keep it hot as you're eating. The place is a bit dusty and furniture is a little outdated.

Had the barbeque duck with the barbeque sauce and chicken spring rolls with the fish dipping sauce. Not much of a fan of the barbeque sauce however I didn't know any better, will try a different sauce next time. Besides their sauce, it was absolutely delicious. Will definitely try again.

This was an amazing experience. The food was amazing not to mention the service. Derick the manager made our night even more pleasent, he truly went out of his way to make sure we satisfied and took the time to explain the 3 course meal we had. He was just great overall, so friendly and made us feel extra special.
