Shahi Khana reviews
30Went to Shahi Khana to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. We had a private curry buffet and friendly service. Excellent experience!
Most authentic indian food I have ever had! Amazing prices and amazing flavour! Best you will ever get! Such helpful and friendly staff. They will explain anything for you and make suggestions based on your preferences.
So disappointed in the food today. It appears a new Chef was cooking today and it was not as delicious as usual. Ordered butter chicken and chicken biryani 28July 2023.
Everything about this place is just awesome. Had buffet dinner from this place just now and couldn't wait to write the review.
The food is amazing, Staff is super sweet, Food choices in a buffet beats Buffet restaurants in India as well and last but not the least, one of the most fairly priced restaurant.
Will be a regular here for sure.
Small, sweet place.friendly service and very accommodating for the huge group we went with
Tuesday and Saturday buffet. R120 per person. The starters and mains were amazing. Super tasty. Simple presentation more than made up for with the vast variety and range of tastes. I love going for a small taste of each and then deciding what my "mains" are going to be. This time it was the lamb curry. Out of this world and lots of it. The green sauce was a super compliment to the dish. We ended up spending more on wine than dinner and it was a great evening. Will Def be back
One of the oldest place in Joberg for Indain food. The buffet on Tuesday and Saturday are amzaing to have. Thou the presentation is not that great, but the food is lovely with great taste, look out for the veg option where, you shall find the lovely Indain street food, like gol gappa, pani puri or what ever been called in the different part of Indai, its a cracer which is stuffed with fillings of patatoes and other stuff, filled with the hot and sweet chutey (Type of Sauce) and crack striagh into the mouth to get the yummy feeling. Go on to Dahi Bhalla, which is some soft doughnut type of stuff, which is covered with sweet yougurt. Spinkle the same with some salt and red chile powder.
Long list to go ahead. These are only the few starter which are to be seen, other then that there are quite a few more to explore, like pakodas and samosas.
The main course is also amzaing, like in the inidanise chinesse food which contains manchurian and noddles, to indian curries in veg and chicken and lamb, to Roti Naan, overall a amazing experience.yes the place has lovely dessserts too.
One can opt of the ala cart menu, which is also very much amaxzing.
Lastly but not to forget to look for Kailashji the owner of the place to chat with and get the amazing things requied as per the taste buds.
Excellent buffet everyday Saturday and Tuesday, great value for money. Nice variety, especially on the veg side.
Absolutely delicious amazing, 50th birthday with kids grandkids and not only was everything tasteful especially the butter chicken and naan bread there was more than enough of everything their curries omw fantastic worth every cent.definitely recommendable. Excellent customer service as load shedding kick in so did their generators superb service definitely without any doubt.
Watery dhal. Dry chicken. Expensive for pretty bad to average food. Not with it. Second experience.
Poor quality tasteless food. Price of the buffet was enticing but that was about the only thing.
An absolute waist of time and money. Completely tasteless, slapped together without any care.
The chicken soup was dark brown in colour and very obviously straight out of a packet. The Biryani did not even look like Biryani and was tasteless.
Good service and friendly staff but unfortunately that is not the main reason people go to a restaurant.
Excellent service and food out of this world. Everyone so polite and helpful. Highly recommended
Amazing food, nothing short of delicious. Good prices also. Service was excellent. Clean restaurant and nice atmosphere.
I had Chicken Madrid and butter Naan today, very very tasty. Thank you for making such delicious food
Buffet is excellent value for money with good 'home' style deliciousness. Great attentive service
Food was superb. Authentic Indian. Their Naan bread is amazing and large portions s.
3 of us shared Lamb Korma, Butter chicken curry, and Prawn Curry.
PHENOMENAL! Such a pity they are not very busy. They deserve to do well.
Very tasty and delicious food at reasonably well price. It's the same group which has Taste of Mumbai at Emperor Place. Area is surrounded by all type of other restaurants. Must visit for all Indian food lovers. Harpeet was very humble and served us well. Good service. Keep it up guys.
Authentic Indian cuisine (not Durban curry). The Tuesday and Saturday buffet is one of those well kept secrets. Make sure to book for buffet.
Good Restaurent with tasty food at good price. Offering buffet on Tuesday and Saturday at a reasonable rate with so many dishes.
