Shepstone Gardens

Thank you to Sinead, Mel and the rest of of the incredible Shepstone Garden team for the most magical day on the 9th of September

We couldn’t have chosen a better venue for our wedding. It was an absolute dream working with everyone at SG; especially our incredible coordinator, Sinead who made sure everything ran like clockwork, and darling Mel who made our florals look stunning

Please can we do it all again?

Nice beautiful looking venue with lots of rooms for guests and outdoor space that's beautiful looking for a wedding.

The most beautiful and tranquil place for any event. So much attention to detail in every area. The most stunning surroundings that you would never imagine that you are still in Johannesburg. If I was to get married a second time round, this is exactly where I would want to have my wedding day! Exceptional!

A place that everyone should visit and experience a beauty of natural garden with very friendly crew.

If you need a venue to impress then stop looking. I really can't say more. This venue makes any event elegant.

The staff are friendly ans knowledgeable. Everyone was super helpful and not to mention that the place is absolutely breath-takingly beautiful. Would recommend.

The behind the scenes of Shepstone is really bad. The coordinator we had sounded very organised and on top of things, but on the day, she left out so many things that was planned and payed for. She also didn't organise the staff on the day. Everything at Shepstone that is visible to the public and what they use on social media is good, like the flowers and champagne tower but the couple has a lot of stress on the day. The honeymoon sweet had no warm water or electricity and was not even made up nicely. The MCs had to organise everything with the staff on the day as the coordinator just did nothing as she said she would. The venue also shuts down completely at midnight, we still had guests there who had no light to get to their cars. The overall experience was bad, but the photos look nice. If you want a stress free wedding, don't trust the Shepstone coordinators!

Amazing and best food ever just shame for ongoing renovations and not wheelchair friendly at all even eldery people struggled but still highly recommended

Finally I got to see what is hidden behind the high fence and wooden doors. What an experience today to explore the hidden corners, amazing view and garden pathways. Even in Winter the flowers brought brightness to the cold. One would be lucky to enjoy a festive event in this magical garden.

Shepstone Gardens is a true hidden Gem on the mountain top in a quiet street in One if Johannesburgs golden old suburbs.

What a beautiful place to have a wedding. The gardens are very well maintained, everything is so neat, very friendly staff that work there. Honestly can’t say enough about them!

What an amazing venue. A must for anyone considering to get married or throw a late afternoon party into the evening. The buildings and gardens are spectacular.

A beautiful venue for a wedding. It was a wedding of +-90 people and it was more than sufficient! Not much room for garden games but plenty places for breath-taking photos.

Insufficient parking inside and therefore inconvenient for guests.be prepared to park on the roadside.
Quality of food was fair and artfully plated.

Best service I've received in a very long day, they made our wedding day beyond perfect, cant wait to go back for maybe vow renewals
