Sterkfontein Heritage Lodge Krugersdorp

Dropped in for a brunch on Saturday morning. The food was good and the service even better. Unfortunately for us we chose a really cold day, so we had to settle inside. Nothing wrong with being indoors, but I can’t wait to go back when it has warmed up a bit so we can do an outdoor thing. Looks like it could be great. No idea what the rooms are like.

We recently had the pleasure of exploring the hiking trail in this picturesque location, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The trail was well marked, making it easy to navigate, and the abundance of shade provided a refreshing respite from the sun.

The highlight of the trail was undoubtedly the stunning waterfall. Its cascading beauty was a sight to behold, and the sound of rushing water created a serene ambiance. Additionally, the trail's gentle incline made it accessible and enjoyable for hikers of all ages, making it particularly child-friendly.

What truly impressed me was the attention to detail in creating a welcoming environment for families. The garden setting was a delightful addition, and the small jungle gym provided a fun distraction for the little ones. And after a fulfilling hike, the pool offered a perfect opportunity to cool off and relax, although I would advise against it during the winter months.

Feeling hungry after our adventure, we decided to take a break at the on-site restaurant, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The mouthwatering pizza we enjoyed there was simply divine, satisfying our appetites and providing a well-deserved treat. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere added to the overall experience.

The only minor drawback was the absence of Wi-Fi connectivity, which some may find inconvenient. However, considering the natural beauty and tranquility of the surroundings, disconnecting from technology actually enhanced the experience and allowed for a deeper connection with nature.

Overall, I highly recommend this hiking trail to both nature enthusiasts and families seeking an enjoyable outdoor experience. With its well-marked paths, scenic waterfall, family-friendly amenities, and scrumptious food at the restaurant, it is an ideal destination for a memorable day out.

Wow Sterkfontein Heritage Lodge is absolutely awesome. I am in the hotel industry and have a certain standard build within me and I am glad to say this lodge surpassed that. The staff is so friendly from Neels at the boom gate to Sami in the restaurant, and the lady at Reception I will recommend Sterkfontein Heritage Lodge to everyone. Thank you for making my dad's birthday so special.

Sterkfontein heritage lodge is a fun destination for the whole family, the staff are friendy and welcoming and eager to assist.

An absolute surprisingly beautiful short hike in the Krugersdorp area with gorgeous views of the valley and a waterfall where you can cool down under the canopy of trees. The hike is moderate and is suitable for the whole family and the best part is that it is pet friendly so your fur baies are welcome to enjoy the outdoors with you.

They also offer bungee jumping, repelling and rock climbing. They have a wonderful restaurant where you can enjoy something delicious to eat after your brisk walk. This is a definite must visit if you are in the area?

Had a "walk in" lunch - enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff ensures an enjoyable experience!

Lovely hiking experience. Two spectacular waterfalls. NOT a beginner hike of you take the path to the water falls. R20 entrance. Just need more clearly marked trails.

Did not use the rooms. Did the Parkrun that takes place every Saturday at 8 o'clock. Marshalls Gideon and Tommy Joubert are gr8 and caring. Gr8 family outing try it.

Great experience but im not happy with the signage for the hiking trail. It's very hard to navigate around when hiking. But everything else is top notch. I would have given them a 5 star if it wasn't for the hiking trail problem.

Loved it! From the bungee jumping to the foofy slide to the food. And great service quality too. Would really recommend to a friend and also go again.

The food is quite good, but the view is even better. This is a really nice place for the whole family.

Beautiful, the view is stunning. The path is incredible.the people, the little coffee shop, the way it is maintained, everything about it truly Beautiful.

Gorgeous spot for a hike - the hiking trail signs should just be updated so that hikers don't walk onto other property.
The restaurant is great for treating yourself to proper South African brekkie after hiking a few kilometers. Very friendly staff and ample parking.

The venue offers one of the most magnificent dog friendly hikes I have been on. The scenery is truly beautiful. An enjoyable 5kms winding between waterfalls, obstacles, streams and mountains. Very affordable at R20 per person. The venue also offers bungi jumping, a restaurant and sometimes markets. Very safe and popular. A fantastic experience right on your doorstep. I will definately be back soon.

Lovely venue. Friendly staff. Only problem i had was the food i ordered was cold when it was brought to me so i probably won't eat there again. Pity as i was quite excited about the venue

Amazing setting for photos the hiking experience is excellent (includes waterfall) if your looking for a challenge this place has multiple activities such as bungee jumping, a great place for family too.

Absolutely breathtaking scenery, clean, very friendly though professional service received, great food, very competitive prices and a must add to the bucket list even if it's just for a coffee (but there's much more to do)

A lot of activities on site. Restaurant is great for a meal or snack after your hike or activity. There's bungee jumping which is cool.
