The Baron Fourways

This may sound wierd but when I eat at the baron. I always ask for the beef trinchado in the sauce from the chicken trinchado. Fanflippintastic! Then I would obviously put their amazing complimentary table peri peri sauce in that sauce. Wham! Winner!

Loved loved their lamb curry. My hubby had the oxtail and he said it was to die for. Our waitress was also awesome and friendly. Will definitely be back again.

I don't know if it's cause I went there on a Monday night. But my husband curry stew and my oxtail was not nice and it was as though it was from the freezer (it looked and tasted old)

I normally love this place, but over the last few times, it's really been quiet and a bit depressing. The food and drinks also seem to be very expensive if late.

The service was a bit slow. We waited very long for our food order. The table next to us came in 15 minutes after us but they recieved their food order before us.
The White Manager only went did table calls on white people, I found that very discriminating as a Hotelier and Food and Beverage professional.

They sorted out my uber eats order that was incorrectly cancelled. Excellent service, food was great too - Thanks JP!

New York Sirloin 300g was cooked to perfection. I loved the Creamy Crispy Garlic. The cocktails were good.

The Baron Fourways is a great place for both lunch, dinner and even just for a good night out with the bar/deck area nicely situated downstairs and across from the river. It's a tad expensive, but definitely one of the better restraunts/bar's around that area, with safe enough parking and clean facilities. Staff are really nice as well. Big up.

Service was so slow and the food wasn't to Barons Standard we didn't enjoy our meals and my wife's Kingklip for the money we spent was a rip off!

The only place with a good atmosphere on a rainy day is the bar which is the smoking area.

Not to sure how I felt about this as the next day my clothes smelt like smoke.

The service excellent the atmosphere wonderful, the food is wow and have a live band and the singer a beautiful voice and very pretty, what a day.

The Baron Fourways has a nice atmosphere. I like that it has a play area with child minders as well. What I like most about the venue is that you have many different seating options. Another plus is that there is a great river view, I went on a particularly hot day and there were no unpleasant smells coming from the river. I went in a big group and unfortunately some of our orders where wrong or arrived late. I understand that big tables are hard to serve but these small problems could have been negated. Other than that the food was quite nice I won't deny that, but the price didn't match the meal. This could be a 5 star place if they had their ducks in a row. With that being said I would totally go there again, the staff where super friendly and helpful and they attended to us the best they could.

Great venue with a beautiful view onto the river. Awesome food, both in flavour and quality of ingredients. Personal recommendation would be the beef trinchado with a nice glass of wine or a refreshing beer. Unfortunately, on the night we were there, we experienced some of SA's best load shedding and, although the restaurant had a generator, a sheer absence and neglect of management led to a this small gap in power resulting in us being ignored by waiters scrabbling without any guidance and not speaking to customers; the food order only being taken 15 mins after the blackout; the food taking a further 1 hour to arrive and all the while it's the poor wait staff taking the fall for what could have been easily avoided with some simple guidance from management and communication with customers. Compliments to the waiters, waitresses and kitchen staff they are the only reason I'd definitely be back.

The venue itself is great and the child minder was fantastic. She was able to remember all the children's names and looked out for each of them in the play area assuring their safety. They have multiple areas to choose from when it comes to your dining experience. Inside near the bar, the main inside area with the view of the river and the lower deck, the lower deck with a picturesque backdrop of the river and the outside upper area which is close to the play area to keep a close eye on your children.

However I found the food average. Especially for the price. The waiting staff also forgot orders at our table or got orders wrong and in one case didn't take the order of a person in our party all together.

I would return for the drinks and the venue but I might give the food a skip next time round.

I loved every single moment of my visit to The Baron in Fourways. The hospitality is just so warm from the minute you walk in. My little brother was having his graduation lunch there, my uncle made bookings earlier on and when we arrived the place was already set for us. The restaurant gives of a very homey feel and the staff make sure that your every need is met. The menu is quit affordable, I am a student and I plan on making myself and my friends, very good regulars to this restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant without a doubt, the manager was the cherry on top for my day because he came to see us off and asked if we enjoyed our stay, and I really did. Perfect for friends and family, perfect for first dates, perfect for catching up with long time friends. They say first impressions last forever and this place definitely made a lasting impression on me.

I was very underwhelmed with the pepper burger. Didn't taste like pepper or a burger. Staff and atmosphere was pretty good.

Great for the F1 or book a table in the family se tion to let the kids play. Competent child minders and great for after work drinks or Sunday lunch with the family

Great pub-style and family restaurant. Suggest to book as it was quite full on a Sunday afternoon. Nice seating outside adjacent to kids playground. Smokers area outside is actually the best outside seating. Seating inside is also good but limited on view. Steaks (in 2019) average around R200 (weight and cut dependent) and burgers just under R100. Food is really good. Waiters move around enough to have good enough service without being over entusiastic

Went here to catch up with a friend over a few drinks. They were very accommodating, with cold beers and some really good burgers
