The Baron & Quail Woodmead

The service was horrible. The place was barely busy with only a few tables occupied. My waiter took his sweet time getting to my order after bringing me my drink he vanished until I called and asked for the bill. Prices were ridiculous seriously however it was not an issue and I did want to order but couldn't wait for my waiter. After 10 minutes with my drink waiting to order I asked for the bill. The price for my drink was higher than that of the price on the menu. They apologized and sorted it out. Just an overall poor experience. Very unsatisfactory. Won't be visiting again.

The best burgers in the whole of joburg worth every bit of money. The service is always amazing as well.

Second time I have been. First time, burger was cold. Decided to give them another try. Yesterday I ordered Steak pie and chips. This was after having to borrow a menu from the next table as we were left unattended for 15 minutes even though the Restaurant was not even quarter full. Pastry on pie was so thin you could see through it. The filling was so thick I think there is no more cornflour left in the area. Chips were old, wrinkled and greasy. Obviously cooked a few times. Complained about chips to waitress and she kindly brought me a bag of freshly cooked chips to take home. Pity I didn't get them with my meal. Will NOT be going again

Expected more. The vibe is great, but the food's quality does not match the price. Maybe we also came on a bad day but half the things we wanted they didn't have in stock, our waiter was awful and we got raw chicken in one of our dishes (they did refund us for the chicken)

The cleaning and hygiene standards are very poor. The bathrooms are grim. This Baron needs a full revamp.

Really nice atmosphere and food was good. Service was a little slow but to be fair the restaurant was full.

10/10 even more the staff is friendly and welcoming they warm and the provide very good service. I enjoyed it

Ordered a fish and chips which came to us old and soggy. Definitely not the quality normally sold at the Baron franchise. Discussed with the waiter, Clement, which he brought to the managers attention. The manager never bothered to confront us and ignored the situation. Very disappointing

Excellent steak and it was prepared perfectly. Nice bar area and outdoor area is also great. Nice cold beer. Cant go wrong.

I ordered a burger from this establishment off uber eats, it cost around R115.00 the burger was soggy and I had a slice of processed cheese on top, which seems a bit weird since it’s called a gourmet burger. Furthermore after I rated them on uber eats and explained issue on Ubereats the owners response was poor. I wouldn’t support this establishment their service and food are of a substandard quality in comparison to price.

Perfect place for any sort of group outing.

The food is to die for and the vibe is always what you make of it.

I haven't been to the Baron Woodmead since I moved out of Gauteng in 2007. Decided to pop round for a business lunch while in town for a few days and I can say that the steaks are still one of the best in the country. Service was tops as always and the staff as friendly as ever. Full marks for consistency at a very high level which is all one really wants from a great restaurant.

Been going here for years. Very well managed, staff know exactly what they are doing and food is consistently great, better than some other high-end restaurants. Renowned for their steaks, but try the chicken peri peri too.

Great service.good food, a little pricey. Perhaps more control over the patrons in the bar would help the noise level.perhaps move the tv. All in all very enjoyable

Why does caft beer have to be so pricy, also snack basket, while tasty was not value for money.

The waitress didn't really pay attention to our table. The drinks took forever but they were delicious.

Always great meal portions great vibe n atmosphere. Oh a must try is the delicious Salad. I'm not a salad person but man it was Devine.

Its like old faithful. It is just good and proper food and fun. An establishment that has earned its establishment status. Great burgers and platters are always the state of play

Had snails started, it was not the greatest garlic sauce I have had. But the service was good, we had an awesome waiter.

Great atmosphere drinks are reasonablely priced and man the food was great or maybe I was a little tipsy but it was definitely an enjoyable night
