The Classic India Restaurant Fourways reviews
23Great curry restaurant with friendly staff. Never a long wait to get food and always great value and one of the cheaper Indian restaurant I was the Fourways area.
Ordered for the second time. Disappointed for the second time! Such high prices yet portions have little chicken and butter chicken is full of food coloring. Not worth the purchase. Called the manager in the store who could not have been ruder. I do not recommend this restaurant.
Great tasting curry at great prices. Excellent service too. Recommend the Lamb Rogan Josh for a delicious option. Medium is rather spicy but really tasty so I recommend it
This was awful. The food was just terrible. Nothing was even 'ok', it was all very poor. Thick flavourless sauces with barely any sign of whatever protein was meant to be in the curry. Biryani was just flavoured rice, clearly not infused like a proper one should be. The Korma was a flavourless white sauce, no subtle spicing at all. The vindaloo was probably the best of the options, but was just hot without being well spiced. There was no depth of flavour to any of it. Now, 2 hours later I am suffering stomache cramps as I type this. Portion sizes were very small, but I am actually thankful for that now.
The waitress looked new and a bit nervous from the beginning. Then it turned out that she initially forgot to capture the order on the system so we waited and waited and waited then decided to take the food home. Could have been a nice three-course dinner if the waitress had any sales skills. The beetroot in the starter/welcome plate was raw. To top it all off, the packaging labels on the takeaway was mixed up. A disappointing service experience.
Well priced Indian restaurant in Fourways. Food is well prepared and portions are generous. Excellent staff too. We will definitely return!
We recently visited and the food was below average. The waiters behavior was reckless hence we did not pay him enough
tip so he started verbally abusing us and told not to come again. Pls don't visit.
Classic India never disappoints. I enjoy their food a lot.
I'm trying to convince the managers to bring the sizzlers branch to Fourways as well. Anyone that has eaten at the branch in Boksburg will be able to vouch for the amazing yumminess that are the sizzlers platters. Please management, at least try it out with our community here.
The only thing missing on the menu for me is soji and kheer
Otherwise, a restaurant not to overlook.
Not classic anything here… soggy, tasteless mess, hold the mint next time on the briyanis pls. Put briyani spices. Ha! Not again
Hats off for the welcome and quick table preparation for guests, plus a snack of jeera poppadoms with chutneys complimentary, a lovely gesture. The Pani Puri was disappointing bland despite asking for hot, was distinctively without flavour. However the Chilli, Cheese Naans were made on special request, my Bengali Fish Curry was tasty, a tad sweet, the Dal Makani was good. Will return, attentive service, could have upsold on drinks.
Very Impressed with Classic India at Cedar.
The service from Sheron was perfect, and the food was incredible! They will definitely see me again!
My go to place for client meetings in the Fourways area. Lovely ambience. Quiet inside and outside. The food is always excellent. Wine selection suits all palates and food choices.
Super amazing and tasty food. Definitely, definitely end off your meal with the amazing sizzling chocolate brownie. Definitely worth every bite
Great menu, well priced, good service. Pity it is not better supported. Will definitely be back.
If you are looking authentic north Indian taste then I would say this is the place. In my 5 years stay in Johannesburg till date this is the place where I experienced authentic Indian taste of foods. Ambience is good, courteous staff, good quantity food, what else you would look for? Garhwali chef (hailing from Uttarakhand) knows how to tempt your taste buds. We had veg (Starter: Platter, Bharwa aloo, Main: - Balti Paneer, Masala Kulcha, Khurmi naan, Garlic Naan) and is highly recommendable.

We had a lovely evening here. Very hospitable with attention to detail. Delicious food. Highly recommended.
I tried the Classic India for the first time this weekend and was blown away! The best Paneer Makhani I've had as well as the greatest Punjabi Samoosas. The chili bites were not the normal chili bites I'm use to but still had amazing flavour. My new fav little Indian spot! I ordered through Mr D and when the food arrived it was still ridiculously hot which was great for a cold weekend! This will definitely be my weekly treat!
I ordered two platters (non- vegetarian R145 and vegetarian R125) as it was my dad's birthday. I received it from Mr Delivery as they said the delivery is free. I received the items (it felt so lightweighted) then was told by Mr D that there's a delivery charge because it exceeded a certain limit (this was not the initial agreement). So anyway ended up paying Mr D.
Then opened up the platter to find how mediocre and unappealing it looked. It didn't look very pleasing on the eye and the samoosa was drenched in so much oil. I was shocked to realize I paid that much money for a very below average looking platter. I tried to salvage it by adding more presentation on the platter. After trying the platter, a few hours later I got an upset stomach and honestly I was not surprised.
Really disappointed with what was produced at this restaurant today and will not be purchasing anything from here any more.
I ordered 2 dishes and naans via Mr. Delivery. The paneer makhni I ordered was off. Called Mr. D, they said they cant help. Spoke to the restaurant, they said they don't care. You've lost a regular customer. A absolute stay away
