The Fat Olive reviews
45Attended a work function. The food is very bland. Service is absolutely slow, but it could be because it was a bigger group.
If it wasn’t for the location, this place would’ve been gone long ago.
The food is average, the service is indifferent & slow, the private party pumping hip hop at insane volume ensured nobody else could enjoy the day & then to top it off we found a piece of plastic in a chicken burger.
That’s it Fat Olive, 2 strikes & we’ll not be returning.
Stunning venue, but the food let it down slightly. Cheese sauce was very runny. We sent it back, but what was served again was just as runny (like it had just been transferred to another bowl) Salad was very limp. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Would recommend for an atmospheric afternoon of relaxing dining.
Food is overpriced and there's nothing special. The atmosphere is great, live music. We almost got turned away at the gate because we didn't make a booking.
Our first time visit, but we won't be back unfortunately. Firstly they made a mistake with the booking, name spelled wrong, but problem eventually solved. Then the Haloumi starter had to be sent back as it was cold and hard, came back only slightly better. Main meals took very long and the waitress tried hard, but it was way too busy, not enough staff, poorly managed, people fighting and shouting in the kitchen. Food was not great either, burger bun was stale, flapjacks awful.
Attention to detail seriously needed, broken fittings in the bathroom, chair cushions falling apart etc. Such a nice setting, pity about all the negative points!
The waiters were really nice but the food was not so nice. The cappachio was cooked meat, which was not right way to serve. Management handled our complaint and kindly refunded the cost and our drinks.
Nice vibe, perfect place for family on a weekend. I'll definitely come but hoping for better service from the waiters. Was disappointed to have been given oxtail that was off and not offered a complimentary meal, which i expected to be standard.
We had a birthday lunch for 15 people on Saturday. The venue is great, with lovely views, space for the children to enjoy and live music. After a number of really good experiences before, the food was a let-down. Steaks were overcooked and the sides were cold.
Hopefully this was a fluke and not a sign of declining quality.
Beautiful lake, with great service and great food. Definately going back for the Guinness and pepper steak pie.
5 STARS DOESN'T DO THIS PLACE JUSTICE. ITS BRILLIANT. IT'S SO GOOD THE LESS PEOPLE THAT KNOW ABOUT IT, THE BETTER.
Such a beautiful setting, the beach bar, the live music, the food and the paddle boats. A little piece of the coast with no waves.
My first time at The Fat Olive. Loved the location, scenery, restaurant was great. The Costa Alta bar was awesome, loved the drinks. All and all I will go again there. The place had kiddie stuff to do, so it's a great place for family time. Great service.
Generous portions! Value for money! Beautiful view with 2 sections of the restaurant and the beach bar, you sure will find something to fill up that tummy with from both menus.open space, refeshing and unwinding
Had lunch by this restaurant a week ago but forgot to take food pics. We ordered pork ribs which were fantastic and a wagyu burger, which was a bit of a disappointment considering the beef is known to be the best in world. Menu prices are reasonable. Restaurant is by a lake so the breeze was smooth and the restaurant's overall feel was chilled, good service and I'd highly recommend for a friend's and family outing. I'll take photos next time
Beautiful views, lovely staff (our waiter Happy and waitress Bongi) took good care of us.
We thoroughly enjoyed being there, its kid friendly which is a nice plus. The food - starter (Creamy Mussels) was great & for mains we had Lamb Shank and Oxtail but those weren't the greatest at all. Fall off the bone yes but same basting and quite bland. Overall, its a good place.
The food is great, everything we ordered (both adults and kids) from fish, to pasta, burgers, ribs, all tasted great, flavour was on point. The atmosphere is relaxed and lovely to dine while overlooking the water. Waiters also provided good service. There's also a play area for the kids. Was a great outing.
When we got there it was packed and it was a cold weather, but we got the best service from Freddy the waiter. We enjoyed our supper and we got be placed in warm place.
The food is good. Service is very good. Awesome venue. Just a little bit on the expensive side.
Apart from the hiccup with the booking the picnic we had was great. Good food and service. Will definitely be back
