Tonino's Portuguese Restaurant ft. Hot Slots

Tornino's is a lovely place to go to. Very friendly place as well as the people. The food is good & very tasty & prices very reasonable. Tony the manager knows all his customers and goes round to greet them one by one during the night. They have a band on Saturdays and karaoke on Wednesday night which is great fun even if you can't sing. Lovely place to go for an enjoyable evening.

Absolutely love the vintage/retro aesthetic of this place.
It has chilled and relaxing vibe about it, great for drinks and catching a game on the weekends. The food isn't over the top but it's good.

Great value succulent queen prawns deal. Literally finger licking delicious. Try with their homemade peri peri sauce!

Actually very nice food. Seems like they have quite a vibe there, just not on the Monday. Was very relaxed. Other nights are quizzes nights etc. I had prawns, calamari and veggies. It was great. Spud and spinach is also surprisingly good! Choc volcano is a must for dessert.

My favourite spot to see friends and just have chill out. They great staff who are the most amazing even the owner is awesome

Had a pork rib today, it's was tasting funny, highlighted the waiter and advised if they can just grill it more, it's like i made it worse, I flagged with the chef they said nothing was wrong with the ribs, a waiter did advise I was not the first person to complain about it.

Food delicious and tasty pizza, sad to see place not busy cause Corona, good specials and prices

Thoroughly enjoyed an evening out. Owners are phenomenal and ideal spot for a quick game of pool. And the highlight if the evening, drinking a Soweto Toilet would highly recommend this place anytime. Great pizza!

Delicious meals. Pizza, curry and rice, Portuguese steak, prawns and calamari are our favorites.

My favorite place to eat out. Staff the best. Always make you feel so welcome. Definitely the best value for money in Jhb.

#RWC Finald 2019 - Great atmosphere in this restaurant! Extremely busy and jam packed for the game but none the less service was good and food was yummy too!
Good food, drinks and nice spot to hang out to relax or have lunch, even watch the sports!

Really good food at great prices, nice older vibe with a live band and lots of people dancing and living their best life. No scruff at the bar.

Tonight I had the worst service ever, the part that really hurt me and sucks is that I am a customer and I have been supporting them forever. But they gave me beer that had huge chunks of white stuff swimming in it. I discovered this after drinking quite a number of sips, but they couldn't even apologise and pay for my next beer. I still gave them the benefit of doubt, ordered pizza with extra bacon, the pizza came and literally I think they cut one rash of bacon for the entire 8 slices, some slices didnt even have the little bacon bit they put without shame. Still I asked calmly. And all they told me was that this was their portion. I then had to have the worst pizza in my life. Wow.just Wow! I paid so much money for the worst service ever. So disappointed! They dont value their customers.maybe I dont matter, although i go there often. I dont even wanna make it about race, but if the shoe fits.just Wow

It a pub at the end of the day frequented by the same locals, some who are great & some who are suspect. The big turnoff for me was their gambling section, which always seem to drag in the unpleasant dregs of society, who don't add anything except a bad vibe. It's quite social before the rugby & can get busy on friday. Drinks are well priced, the food is OK, but other than that it's a glorified pub.

Awesome and well priced pizza and portuguese food and drinks. A popular local pub that's always busy.

It looks really dodgy. The waitress has no clue about the food and is a little rough looking.but the food was delicious! It is nothing fancy. Very basic. Dreadful wine list, so drink beer. But we had really good steaks, far better than most other meals in JHB!

Tonino's lets start with the bad news first. Toninos is a restaurant and bar side by side. The cigarettes being smoked in the bar can be smelled in the restaurant. This makes everything smell like old cigarettes. The furniture looks like it has been donated by an old age home and we found a cockroach walking on the table while the waitress laughed off.

Toninos the good. The waitress had the decency to disinfect the table after removing the roach. The food is best food you will put in your mouth. The portions are excellent but the taste of the food will make uou want to eat the plate. The service was excellent the waitress and manager gave us service with a smile and told us about the entertainment they have on Fridays and Saturdays.

Toninos the verdict. The place needs some TLC. But I can't wait to return to taste more of the food.
