What a refreshing experience! I am so impressed with my recent visa application process - it was so fast and efficient - the staff from the security lady to the visa agent were so polite and professional. I was kept updated throughout and the entire process took five working days. Thank you to all involved.

Idiots don't tell you they have multiple offices which service DIFFERENT countries. Make sure you go to the right one. Guards behave as if they're the ambassador's themselves. Arrogant, rude and act as if they're doing you a favour. My worst visa experience ever, and I'm Muslim and have applied for a US Visa, so read what you will into that.
Be prepared to be treated as if you're going there to steal back the jewels they stole from your country or something.
If I never have to go to a country serviced by these guys ever again it will be too soon. Capago that does Italy is much, much better.

I will give one star because zero stars are not possible, shockingly horrible customer service. Paid my fees and still can not book an appointment because they are having "technical issues with their accounting department". Horrible customer service from the telephone customer care, didn't and haven't received any sort of help for my appointment.the call centre manager Bruce Lukhele is very rude and very incompetent, keeps asking for the same information I have already provided him.

We were a group of 4 and I cannot agree with all the negative reviews. Well we went for Greek Visa's and from the security at the door to the person who did the application treated us with outmost respect. The staff told us that their lunch started at 12h30 but they completed our application at 12h50. No complains whatsoever. Charity, the lady who helped us, is a great asset to the company. Keep up the good work.

VFS global center is situated in Sandton.you have to prior book your appointment before visit.the staff is very supportive and humble.better for family appointment as there is no rush but cost of booking an appointment here is exorbitant.

I paid much money to VFS so that I don't have to mess with department of home affairs. Wasted my money because I still had to go the the department because VFS does not give you ANY info about your visa application even if I was suppose to get the vise 4 months ago!
VFS either don't answer phone calls or if they do they give you other numbers to call that don't work because of "covid".
I had to go to department of home affairs because VFS will not give me any answers. I even paid VFS extra to get "updates" on the visa but there were no updates.
VFS grabs your money and forget about you and your application because they got what they wanted from you!

The lady in the reception is so racist. She didn't allow me to sit saying it's not allowed and she made the other people to sit while made me stand for more than an hour.

- Web-based application tracking system was not functional.
- At least 5 minutes need to be budgeted for in order to get through the automated calling system stonewall, and roughly 50% successful calls are dropped at the end of the automated message or during the call.
- Lack of responsiveness to mail enquiries.
- Passport not returned within nearly a month, causing me to miss my flight booking.

Also, there is no one owner of a support ticket. I dealt with a different person each time I called - Olivia (On mail), Boitumelo, Mary and Azola.

The call centre staff aren't very helpful and don't give accurate information. I have asked about covid restrictions for Portugal - Jan 2022-and how this would affect my visa application - I was told I couldn't travel to my sick father-in-law yet then on the same day the Portuguese Embassy informed me that I could travel as a spouse. On email I then asked VFS about which type of Visa I would need to apply for as an EU spouse and was told " we do not advise on category of the visa. " Which is confusing, who do I check with if it's not VFS? ! It's incredibly frustrating and makes the experience feel like a grudge. Hopefully they can look at staff retention and upskilling their staff so they feel important enough to be helpful. Travelling is expensive and every time I have gone through VFS over the years it ends in tears. I actually dread visiting family just because of these experiences.

Once forms have been submitted everything goes smoothly but everything leading up to submission pains me.

Please carry appropriate size photos. If you don't have VFS takes the photo and they charge. But the quality of the photo is not good. VISA / passort may get rejected due to this. We dont even get any updates on this. After constant request for the status. Then we get application on hold due to bad photo

Edit: Changing the rating for Indian VFS - new staff with better attitude in 2021
Previous review from 2019: Indian VFS service is slow and useless. They don’t care and laugh at your face because they are aware no action will be taken as most of their clients aren’t aware that they can complain. Indian consulate should check it out for themselves and cancel their contract

Perhaps it was the worst possible day to have accepted the offer of a walk in.
Absolute chaos in the parking lot as VFS staff could not properly manage the overflow of applicants and collections, as a result of a closure the previous day.
No proper system to manage crowd-intake. When security called people to make their way forward, everybody crowded on top of each other. No regard for social Distancing whatsoever. A super spreader that has probably already done its damage.
Hugely disappointed in VFS in its attempt to properly manage crowds and place their clients health and wellbeing first.
Appalling service. In the year 2021, much of the services rendered could be automated and electronically rendered
Half a day wasted, my health put in jeapordy. And I still have to come back again another day, to get served

During the pandemic, the office has been open with restrictions. Sometimes it's even closed without any info online. They accepted online appointments however didn't inform of the closure and also don't operate during power cuts.

Very good and efficient staff! They collected and verified my documents, and sent for further processing in within 10 minutes.
Also, I didn't have the photo as per requirements, but they helped me with that too. They took my photo there itself.

Well it all depends on the day. Some have bad experiences. We were fortunate to have had a great experience and because of social distancing due to covid 19. This place that is most of the time very busy was empty. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We were helped quickly.

GVC for Greece. By far the smoothest Visa application I've ever done. Great assistance. Passport came back within 2 days.
