Stunning Gardens, great family outing. There's a moderate hike though short, don't underestimate the trial. We started out in the afternoon and the heat was unbearable as there is no shade. The down side is a broken sewer pipe spewing done the embankment and most likely into the river. This should be resolved immediately as the odour is unbearable and carried through the garden as the river flows. That's a real pity and sad state of affairs as there is an entrance fee that should attend to such matters urgently!

The garden is very well organized except the geological trail is closed for the moment due to maintenance. We could go half way only but it was nice too. I've seen so many birds, enjoyed the time. Wonderful place for a weekend picnic.

A beautifully zoned garden with a lot of glorious paths through well-maintained flora. The large gardens boast a lovely waterfall with short hikes and outlook points to spot the eagle's nests. There are plenty of picnic spots in the shade, a play area for kids and a restaurant with easily accessible bathrooms. Recommend for a tranquil escape from the city.

A Glimpse of Nature's Beauty at Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens, but NO DUSTBINS!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens, and I must say that it was an enchanting experience. From the moment I stepped foot into this natural wonderland, I was captivated by its well-maintained beauty, impeccable cleanliness, and thoughtfully designed pathways.

One of the first things that struck me was how immaculately the gardens are kept. The lush greenery, meticulously manicured lawns, and well-pruned flora create a serene and tranquil atmosphere that's perfect for anyone seeking a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It's evident that the dedicated team behind the gardens takes great pride in preserving this natural oasis.

Navigating through the gardens was a breeze, thanks to the excellent signage and well-marked paths. Whether you're a seasoned nature enthusiast or a first-time visitor, you'll find it easy to explore the gardens and discover its hidden treasures. The signage provides valuable information about the various plant species and points of interest, enhancing the educational aspect of the visit.

However, there was one minor issue that stood out during my visit – the absence of dustbins. While the gardens are exceptionally clean and well-kept, I couldn't help but notice the lack of conveniently located trash receptacles. Given the importance of environmental conservation and responsible waste disposal, having more dustbins strategically placed throughout the gardens would be a valuable addition.

Despite this small concern, my overall experience at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens was overwhelmingly positive. It's a place where you can connect with nature, unwind, and appreciate the beauty of South Africa's indigenous flora. I highly recommend a visit to these gardens to anyone looking for a well-maintained, peaceful, and awe-inspiring natural escape. The Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens truly stand as a testament to the splendor of our natural world.

I've reviewed the Walter Sisulu Memorial Gardens before but did not do it justice. This is an amazing place to visit. It's called memorial gardens because it is themed as such. For example, there is a cycad garden, a white skin tree andany more.

It has a challenging circular route that begin and ends at the entrance. There is a restaurant in the reservation that takes care of you when you need to be fed.

The place is well maintained with beautiful paved pathways. The Witpoortjie waterfall can be referred to as one of the main attractions at this stunning venue.

This place offers free entry to persons over 60 on Tuesdays. I've been to this place on various occasions and will definitely visit here again.

Super clean and beautiful gardens. Saw the pair of Eagles flying high around the waterfall area. Need binoculars to watch them and bring the big lens for the camera!

A breathtaking place with birds and vegetation. A perfect picnic spot and even has an amphitheater for live concerts. The biggest selling points here would have to be the waterfalls and also the Cycad garden. The hiking trails were also quite amazing too.

Amazing tranquil experience for the day. The grass is green and the place is super well kept. Plenty of shade and areas for picnicking. Watching the waterfall was super nice too.

A few tips:
-bring some walking shoes so you can explore around. The place is fairly large.
-Entrance fee is R65 for adults. R20 for kids (I think)
- Alcohol is not allowed, but you can bring as many non alcoholic drinks you need, and picnic food
-There are absolutely no bins at the whole place (for the life of me, I still don't understand why)
- There's a restaurant, but probably bringing your own food is better

Beautiful, relaxing place to visit. Feels so seperated from the urban area, the air is just fresh and clean. Stunning flora, well kept and safe. We got to see the Eagles up in the mountains. Hope to do the walking trail next time.

Waterfall gorgeous, the restaurant needs a bit of a upgrade and food was not so great, for quality of food it's a bit expensive.
