Grimaldi's Cucina & Sushi Bar @ Durban Country Club reviews
41 Really good food. Kids also enjoyed their pizzas and pasta. Lovely deco.
There are no kids menu or soft drinks menu.
Would be nice for the staff to acknowledge the occasion celebrated and greet you by wishing you. We celebrated our anniversary here and although it was noted when the booking was made, there was nothing done to make it special.
Also, can you add a plain focacia starter to the menu.
The food is good, the service isn't. We paid for two bottles of water that we didn't order. Plus my day was ruined by thr waiter (Julius) who got angry when I was surprised that they don't bring you a bottle of tomato sauce, but a small sauce bowl. The rest of the time he completely excluded me and focused on everyone else at the table, making me feel like an idiot.
I think this compulsory 10% tip also contributes to waiters not caring how they treat you.
Delicious food. Great ambiance and service. Their prawn picante pasta is to die for! Will definitely visit again.
Thank you to the wonderful team at Grimaldis DCC for the outstanding service and delicious food.
Our waiter, Ishmael, was an absolute star.
It is a beautiful restaurant for a celebration.
Grimaldis at the Durban Country Club is a perfect spot for a girls' day out. The setting is simply stunning, overlooking the ocean, with flowers and vines gracefully draping from the ceiling. The interior exudes a modern and chic ambiance, offering Instagram-worthy spots at every turn.
During our visit, we took advantage of the half-priced cocktails and sushi, their daily lunch specials, which turned out to be a fantastic deal. We indulged in a variety of sushi options, each one more delicious than the last. The classic California rolls with prawn and the Maki rolls with avocado and salmon were standout choices.
Our cocktails, featuring gin and fresh berries, were not only visually appealing but also incredibly tasty, and the price point at around 40 rand per cocktail made it even more worthwhile.
However, the irresistible food and drinks prompted us to order main courses. We all opted for the chicken and ham Alfredo with penne, which turned out to be a creamy and delectable delight, truly mouthwatering.
The ambience and venue at Grimaldis are perfect for unwinding, taking in the beautiful scenery of Durban's coastline, and enjoying excellent food and drinks with your favorite people. It's a delightful experience that combines great cuisine with a breathtaking view.
Amazing food, incredible staff & a wonderful atmosphere!
Definitely made our staff year end lunch one to remember! A huge well done to the whole team at Grimaldi's!
We celebrated my daughters 14th birthday with dinner at this fantastic spot nestled at the Durban Country Club. What a lovely treat! It was the best of both worlds Italian and Sushi to suit all of us.
The service was first class. Food took a bit long but overall views from our party were good. Very noisy and staff could not control a nearby table of rowdiness.
Go to restuarant for great food. Haven't been disappointed yet. Noisy because it's always busy but not to the point can't hear your own table. Waiters are always on point and know the special and recommendations. Can choose a patio seating or inside both nice depending on your mood. They also allow for big party seating. A little waitbfor the foodbbut wellbworth it. Play area for kids during the day. Parking within the country club with security check at gate. No to sure about wheelchair friendliness as there are ramps but not sure the full extent within the venue. Does sell alcohol at the venue.
Booked for Sat night dinner- had veg sushi selection- would be great if they included other veg options besides avo eg mushrooms, radish. Well priced, good bar, good staff. Lovely setting for a relaxed meal.
Absolutely delicious foods! Excellent service from knowledgeable and friendly waiters. Prices are very reasonable for food of high quality!
Special commends to Julius: his pleasant nature was on par.
We had our Christmas lunch at this incredible restaurant. The food was top tier, the waitress was extremely friendly and the overall atmosphere was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment. A huge thank you to the restaurant staff for a job well done! You all deserve more than five stars!?
It's a nice restaurant for small and large parties. A little pricing in my opinion but not bad.
Atmosphere was amazing, we had a wonderful waiter, the food was delicious! Will definitely go back.
What a way to end the birthday dinner.the service and food was superb. Kondo our waiter was wonderful, he made us feel welcome and the recommendations was amazing. Thank you for a beautiful evening out.
Boy oh boy, what a place, booked a table for 4 on valentine's Day this year, it was a set menu but it didn't disappoint, it's been 5 months and we still can't get over their parmesan mash venue, service and food are indeed beautiful.
If you're looking for lunch with a view, this is definitely the place! Sip on a glass of wine whilst soaking up the Durban sunshine from the deck that allows for amazing views of the ocean. The food is great too, we loved the pastas and pizza especially. This is one of those hidden gems, tucked away within the Durban Country Club, but certainly worth the visit.
Located at the Durban country club, this branch definitely sets the scene with its large ornate wooden doors, and jazzy setting. Dim illumination allows a cozy intimate feel for laid back dinners, and the our door seating great for breezy chiller lunches. Would have preferred indoor seating for our anniversary lunch as it gets quite chilly on the deck in the pm, but the waiters were friendly and attentive. The food was lovely, arriving piping hot and bursting with flavours, very exciting to try new things and loving them
Went with kids on a Friday evening so mom and dad could catch the end of the sushi and gin special. Food and drinks were good. Kids loved that they could also play in the kid zone, jungle gym area is really nice.
Update: this used to be out go to place with the kids but the country club only allows members into the jungle gym area. Even after asking if it could be opened we were denied. Probably won't be back.
Poor service, turned down at 4pm at the door, store close time is at 5pm with no accommodation at all. A good afternoon ruined. Customer service needs serious attention.
