Pub Hops Riverside reviews
27 Food was alright, drinks were decent.
Service was alright.
The atmosphere was a bit lacking - they needed to find a way to get more people in their establishment.
Great place for a drink or to watch live sport. However, the toilets are atrocious, they need to employ someone full time especially when broadcasting live sporting events.
The pensioner's discount on Thursdays is a very noble gesture however we had to wait for over 90 minutes for the food to be served.
Staff are great (waitresses and barmen)
Atm never works for the gambling machines.
Lacks a bit of atmosphere that it use to have.
Food is good. The beef burger has not provided genuine beef flavor as it's got a lot of other flavors in it. It was decent but not great.
We asked for the chicken pasta (not on the menu) to be made specially for us and spiced up and it was pure magic on our tongues.
Will be back.
Good food, good service, new DJ plays lovely music however the vibes' been lost since the complaints from the local residents which is very disappointing, yet past years it used to be noisier, rough esp after the rugby games
Perhaps an upgrade or update of the restaurant, the toilets, etc.could attract more customers?
Used to frequent this establishment and service used to great until my last 2 visits. We had to request a waiter, and she was very rude. Even our drin order was forgotten. The second visit was similar. I really hope that they ramp up their service. I know that I won't be visiting soon. Remember that service is the biggest seller
Went for a drink late Friday night as we were staying at the hotel. It was quiet, chilled and the barman kept them coming.
Not a great experience. Coffee machine didn't work. Only one flavour slushie was available. No mozzarella sticks. Meat and drinks arrived at different times. We were the only table there and waited atleast 45 minutes for our meals (nachos, pizza, snack basket and burger)
Pizza was undercooked and flavourless. Spring rolls and samoosas in the snack basket were burnt to a crisp and were mushy. Cheese sauce was like a big blob of cheese with a thick layer of oil on the top.
Chicken strips were divine. Onion rings were amazing. Chips were good. Milkshakes nice and thick.
Brilliant day drinking venue. Amazing setting and reasonable pricing. Variety on the menu. I highly recommend the deep fried calamari starter and the pie and chips main. Awesome pub grub +servings are huge!
Was there on a Friday night with friends for a meal and drinks. Food, drinks and service was great. The only issue is one cannot socialize with friends because the music is deafening. At one point we requested the music to be turned down just a notch, it was turned up. We had to cut our evening short as it was impossible to hold a conversation, we were literally shouting at each other, because the music was way too loud. It would be appreciated if management could take this into consideration.
Called the crowbar now: Winner of the worst restaurant of the year award (in my books)
Manager: non existant, never heard or saw of a manager, incompetent.
Staff: terrible, untrained, over worked and lost.
Restaurant: disgusting, can't wash hands in bathroom, urine all over the floor, seats broken, tables not serviced (cleaned).
Food: my partners food arrived first, staff then "burnt my order" and I received mine 15 minutes later. Pasta and burgers horrible, pizza decent.
Bar: I had one beer in the 3 hours that I was there. Stood at the bar infront of the manager for a good few minutes only to not be served and eventually told "we're closed".
I miss a functional restaurant close to home, I miss the real hops. Crow bar is a waste of space and the owners should be ashamed of their business.
Take a drive to mulligans in Mackeurtan and actually enjoy yourself.
Crowbar WOW! Truly enjoyed the pub! Great vibe! Awesome music and David you are a good viby manager! And the Eisbein I had was Perfect! Truly enjoyable and will be back.
We had a great time there food was tasty and drinks were great to. Plan to go back in the future
Hops or rather the Crowbar. Has a very nice neat setup. The veg pizza was great and loaded with mozzarella and so were the nachos.
There was a slight hiccup with the order for the veg basket. We had bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers. Fortunately the manager happily swopped it out for a fresh one for us.
Never kick a dog whiles it's down, especially during hard trying times. So try it out and make up your own mind. Great venue with so much potential but not my cuppa tea.
Nice layout service can be a bit slow.
Toilets stink worse than an indoor farm.apart from that very pleasant atmosphere
We were at Crowbar family restaurant and pub for dessert and a beer only. Never had a bad meal there and always well looked after. Our go-to place for an uncomplicated, tasty lunch on a Sunday.
Waited over an hour for breakfast orders. Waiter said that it was a burger patty that took long as it needed 15min - still doesn't justify waiting over an hour for food when there is only one other couple in the restaurant.
Poorly supported. New ownership.
Now the Crowbar. Very spacious which is great for social distancing. On site small casino.
