La Lampara Restaurant reviews
42This is an easy 5 and should be tad higher. Ambience and setting: just superb! The food was - as expected - truly good. Subtle flavours making for distinctively scrumptious meals. Good selection of whiskies. The waiting staff was a bit inattentive but that was a minor. I cannot wait to return!
Once again we had a very enjoyable lunch. We are in the same industry and know when compliments are due. Great starters the crab soup was delicious, tasty mains and finished off with superb desserts. We will return
Superb food, best pillow soft Gnocchi we have ever had. Restaurant is dep in the woods, simply a fantastic evening.
Good food. Enjoyed the atmosphere. I think the restaurant was too full given the pandemic. Service was a little shakey at 1st, but once Janet came to serve us it was incredible. Thanks Janet.
An exceptionally good Italian restaurant; can especially recommend the homemade gnocchi and veal scaloppine
What an experience, great food, great setting, owner / chef himself delivers phenomenal food, we really enjoyed everything minute. Starter and mains where to perfection, steaks as recommended was absolutely delicious. Definitely one of my favorites in the greater Midlands areas
Meals are spectacular, the view wonderful. Would recommend it to anyone who would like to experience an Italian gem on home ground.
Good Italian food. The starters were great. I had artichokes and my partner had crab soup. The home made filled pasta was also tasty. The venue is casual and relaxed.
Need to come back for a lunch, delicious meal particularly the pork belly, warm atmosphere, and from what I could discern in the dark, amazing setting
Food was so tasty and beautiful, they have two friendly beautiful doggy who come and greet at your table! We loved them. At night, it is quite scary to drive to the restaurant when its misty but it worth the drive!
A stunning venue and great restaurant. Not the best value for an Italian restaurant. Very small portions and over-priced drinks. Food is good quality overall. The service is good too.
Outstanding meals every time. Polite, professional staff, and a gorgeous setting make this such a memorable experience.
Lovely friendly service from Janet who firstly welcomed me with a warm smile and her relaxed disposition.
A gentle host indeed who shared some background of the place.
Caroline shared a bit more in depth history of the buildings as well.
Janet is truly an asset to
La Lampara Restaurant who has a special natural knack of making clients feeling comfortable without showing any irritation at all no matter what the request may be from the client.
A rare gift in the restaurant industry.
Keep on smiling Janet.
Amazing restaurant and grounds.
My favourite of my whole South Africa trip.
Feels so authentic and I have spent a lot of time in Italy and am also a chef for a living.
I had beef carpaccio and the burrata salad but everything else on our table was also perfect.
Lovely experience, delicious Italian cuisine and personal attention by the owners and staff.highly recommended.
Always excellent quality ingredients and delicious Italian food in a cosy, intimate setting. Pino and Caroline, you have the best restaurant in the Midlands by far.
La Lampara is definetely a must visit restaurant. The service from the staff is excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. The food is prepared to perfection my steak was perfect. I have not experienced this level of service in a while. From starter to dessert everything is delicious.
Very beautifull location.
For reservations do not call them sms or watsapp them.
Fantastic setting with great menu choices. Our table of 6 adults and 4 kids was well run. Only problem with the food was with my bistecca. First served blue-rare instead of MR. Then was hot grilled to medium. Not good.
But everyone else had a delicious main and desserts were great.
Still a good choice of restaurant. A bit pricey in comparison to a lot of good places around the country, but you’re paying for the setting as well as the food.
Italian restaurant to the point where the menu is all italian, in a good way. This very cosy, special place is a must when driving though the Midlands. Service is great and they have a great wine list too.
