Olive and Oil

When you lights that defective put them off and light some candles. Both of ended up with headaches and eyeshore. We all have to live with the effects of load shedding but do not tell your customers that it’s being attended and expect to sit and eat underneath defective lights. This was on the 7 Dec 2023

The restaurant was lovely and so was the food. The dissapointment was that the waiter told us there was a water shortage so she could not serve tap water. I have no problem that the restaurant wants one to pay for all water, just be honest, don't get your staff to lie to the patrons - it is insuling.

Amazing restaurant!

I've never been to an Olive and Oil restaurant before but was really impressed by the food, service and atmosphere. They had a live singer in the outside seating area too.

In terms of meals, it took a bit long to be prepared but was well worth the wait. They have a wide selection of meals on the menu, and even have a special 3 course menu which is quite well priced.

I highly recommend visiting!

Had an incredible meal with brilliant service from TK tonight. Honestly one of the best waitrons we have ever had. Thank you TK for such a great evening.

Really impressed by the food and service. Restaurant was clean. Waiters were friendly and very helpful. The food was excellent. They have a really good lunch special (starters, main meal and dessert & wine, if wine option is chosen). The only downside was the live singer who was way too loud. We couldn’t hear each other and noticed other patrons at other tables battling as well.

Beverley (our waitron) is the best! Outstanding service and excellent recommendation for my main course. Will definitely be back.

Always a wonderful experience eating here. From the setting to the food and not forgetting the fantastic service. Thank you Olive & Oil again for never disappointing.

I just want to thank Olive and Oil Hillcrest for the great service we had last night. The waitress was efficient and kept us up to date the whole time on our food as there was a large table that ordered before us and the food was delicious.

Really lovely resturant to suit date night or a family meal.
Lovely area for the kids to be entertained with a full time child minder who is amazing with the kids.
Food is fresh and good. Service is great.

Honestly the best experience I have ever had at a restaurant such delicious food and waitresses are so friendly and amazing atmosphere food was Honestly the best I've ever tasted I wish there was a higher star for this restaurant

Olive and Oil in Hillcrest was one of my favorite restaurants. I'm sorry to say that I had to change my review. The restaurant was refurbished and has a new menu. It seem that they have not only taken the best dishes off the menu, but the food is just really bland. Very, very bland. The new decor is just as bland. The prices are considerably higher, but that is understandable The service is still good, but my honest recommendation is just go somewhere else.

All i can say, is just "Wow". So inpressed the new revamp looks awesome. Our meal was so delicious. Our waiter Nqobile, her service was outstanding. Definitely found a new place to hangout.

I love the new transformation to the place, it has that coziness on the inside, and the outside seating has an amazing view as well, the music is soothing, not to mention the service of the restaurant, top notch, I am definitely coming back!

What a shocker.never again.made reservation.was not catered for.table not ready.scraped to have us seated.and we never received service after 30 min.we left.very dissapointed

Service extremely slow, had 3 different waiters, we were seated at a fold up table which is not great.

We were a table of 9, we waited an hour to receive our food, which then started coming out, 2 plates at a time every 4/5 minutes. I ordered the Valencia pasta, which I personally found didn’t have flavour and was just filled with cream, however everyone else said their food was extremely good. No plates and boards were cleaned up until we left.

Honestly the most pathetic restaurant that I have ever visited, sadly didn't even get a chance to experience the food simply because the manager thinks that he has the authority to over rule the kind lady whom was assisting me. This venue doesn't believe in customer satisfaction at all again Pathetic.

Olive and oil didn't seem like much on arrival, and I would have rated it four stars for atmosphere, as it was very pleasant, but not incredible. Then the food came out, and I was blown away. Their food is incredible, probably the best I've had in Hillcrest. I'm wishing for another star to give them!

The food and ambience was lovey, the service however was the ABSOLUTE WORST, the complementary olives came after my friend had requested them a few times, they still came with the desset, the service was so BAD that it over shadowed everything else for me. I won't be going back there anytime soon

Was not impressed. Service was slow and the meal was not value for money. The decor is looking tired. Won't be going back.
