Roma Revolving Restaurant reviews
40Very good restaurant to visit and the view is 360° around the Harbour and city. Food is excellent and all the people were Very happy with the food.
The service was exceptional.
Fantastic views of the city and the Port of Durban.
Overall, it was a fine dining experience
Attention all, if you think you're going to get good service, forget it. Firstly we were rushed to order our food by 4 different waiters when we just sat down, apparently the kitchen closes. Why allow us to make a reservation at 2 if the kitchen is closing at that time? When our food arrived we were enjoying the view, immediately the old waiter shouted at us to eat our food before it gets cold. We are not kids, we are grown adults and paying customers! That was so inappropriate to treat us in that manner. It was a special occasion, as mentioned when I made the reservation, they usually put up a happy birthday sign but that did not happen for us. Throughout our meal they treated us with no professionalism at all! You'd expect it from a 'fancy' restaurant like this. Another waiter brought our food and instead of placing it down he was just staring at me. All the waiters are unprofessional with their manners. Halfway through our meal the restaurant closed and the waiters told us to take our food away because they need to go home for a break and come back at 5: 30pm. What a waste of our time and money if we weren't allowed to eat our full meal there and experience the view. Again they rushed and packed our food. Before they could leave, they set up a birthday sign for another table in front of us and left. This restaurant has a good theme but hiring waiters the same age as the theme is what will bring this restaurant down. The food was tasty despite the cold mash. I would not recommend this restaurant or ever come here again. First and last time!
Food was amazing as always, however please do not trust the waiters as our waiter came to us and asked my wife to please give him a tip and she must be very discreet about it although the 10% fees have been charged onto the bill.
What a beautiful place, the employees are just as awesome.
The food is tasty and great, the cocktail are amazing 10/10
Had the 2 person steak was great. Starters was awful, the greeter was amazing the views are incredible! Furniture and atmosphere a little outdated.
I have always heard about this restaurant but it sounded a bit overrated until I went out to a family supper and wow we were so impressed with their meals. Very very impressive.
Amazing place to visit.
Ambience is top notch you'll feel welcomed once you reach the restaurant.
Music is soo soothing gives you that relax feeling you need.
View is amazing. The only thrill you'll have is if you can see the entire 360 while you dine. I'll keep that a suspense to find it out by yourself. But believe me you won't be disappointed.
Service on God I love this part they were on toes taking care of every single person personally like its a feeling you can't miss out they treat you like a very special guest. Special thanks to Mr Johnson he was a lovely man to help us select the dishes.
Now last be not the least the food.mamamia! Amazing, hats off to the chef he has some magic.
As a borne and bred Durbanite, I can’t believe this was my first visit to the Roma. And let me tell you - it did not disappoint. The views speak for themselves but the food & hospitality were on point. We had a purely veg meal and were more than happy with the range and options. Will be back.
I have read some very good reviews about this place but unfortunately we did not share the same positive experience. Firstly, the tables are so close together it makes it very difficult to get into your seat or leave the table to use the bathrooms without bumping the person sitting at the next table. The whole experience was horribly outdated. The two virgin cocktails we had were sickly sweet. The manager / owner puts you under pressure as to what to order (I know he is being helpful but it's not pleasant) The food was presented poorly and the portions were small. My husband's lasagne was dry and tasteless (the bechemel sauce was so claggy we thought at first it was mash potato) My Prawn cocktail starter was very disappointing, it was a few prawns on a side plate of shredded lettuce covered in a Marie rose sauce that tasted like it came out of a bottle, it wasn't creamy and luxurious like you would expect of a Prawn cocktail. The prices are exorbitant! I took my husband there as it was his birthday but as we left I immediately had buyers remorse - it was a complete waste of money, there is so much more I could have done for my hubby on his special day for that amount of money. It's not worth the 360 views which are not actually that impressive - its just the Harbour, train tracks and Durbans dirty city center. Save your money. It was a horrible experience.
View stunning been there many of times

Great food and very helpful happy staff! Gordon is the best! And Gino's welcoming experience and help with choosing meals is definitely part of the whole experience!
Excellent service, fine cuisine professional staff a pure joy to dine there, thank tou ever so much Gino and staff for an awesome afternoon and evening
Unique, first visit was around 1982, at the Roma disco. I have visited this place about three times in past seven years. Great view and dishes. The disco was closed down over the years. Restuarant was built 49 years ago. Early 2022 will be the 50th anniversary.
The food is very good and you get a nice view of the city. The wine list could use some improvement.
I feel the view is better at night.but maybe it would be Interestingto go the for a lunch.the food I ordered was great.especially the sauce on my meat.never tasted one so nice before.will definitely come again
Great view of the city and harbour. Friendly staff. Food is ok but nothing to get exited about.
Amazing food. Great view of the city at night. The service was excellent. I definitely recommend. ️
Honestly what a disappointment, firstly the views are stunning and the food was good. The service was some of the worst I have experienced. We booked a table for 6: 30, and waited 2 hours for our food. The waitress did not know what the food was or what was available, we struggled to get drinks or any kind of service. She was unable to tell us what was available for children, there was also no kids menu. We only recieved our food at 9pm, by this time we were so tired and hungry, the waitress then offered my daughter a free ice cream, only to come back and say there is none, to which another Italian guy then went and got the ice cream (so they did have) and gave it to her in a polistyrene take away with no spoon. I mean, come on. It's an expensive restaurant, and you expect some service, we sat and waited for hours.
Absolutely magic!
Old school dining!
From the friend voice on the phone when booking to the SMS's confirming your booking to the welcome it was fantastic! Food is divine - dessert trolley to die for -, an all-round wonderful dining experience - the restaurant makes 1 complete 360° turn per hour. Will definitely be back! Parking is secure, lift has been upgraded
