Salt Rock Hotel reviews
27Excellent venue, classy hotel with friendly staff and attentive management. Like a good matured red wine thid place oozes class. Top class cuisine and a stunning sea view promenade with a dreamy ocean to listen too while you sip your chilled refreshment. Top class accommodation with all amenities at hand. A stones throw from the beach and nearby shopping centres.it's all there!
Ground floor unit and able to walk straight out onto the beach. Staff are very helpful and the resort is well run.
Got married here in Aug 2016. Been coming back every since enjoy the food the venue and view. Has interesting history and good massages.
Best curry on the north coast! I had mutton curry and my husband had chicken. Both were delicious. Service was excellent! We will definitely go back.
Was quite busy when we were there but the service on the terrace was good but and got 500mb free wifi while doing some work.
We went inside and had a great prawn curry. Definitely a win!?
My husband and our 2 kids needed a place to stay over on Friday night 17 Sept 2021 before returningto Pretoria on Saturday. We found Salt Rock Hotel number online. They had a duplex room available that could accommodate all 4 of us. The sea view from our room was lovely. Everything looked clean and neat. The food was ok and the service good. However, when we arrived home late Sat afternoon both my daughters started complaining about itchy burny bites all over their tummies and backs. I had some itchy burny bites also. I had to get medical advice fast. What a shock when we were advised that it was bed bug bites! I had to start myself and kids on antihistamines and ointments immediately. We have traveled all over the world and this is the first time this has ever happened to us.
Excellent settings for a leisurely lunch, excellent menu but there for their curry. Prices are excellent, portions are generous.
Warm and Friendly staff. They were very accommodating when visiting with my elderly dad. Great views with access to private beach.
5 Star Hotel friendly service got a room without a reservations. Loved the place would stay there anytime!
Stunning atmosphere and friendly staff, food has always met my expectations and don't even get my started on how delicious their oysters are!
We were excited to visit Salt Rock hotel for its famous curry. I ordered the prawn curry which was basically prawns in warm tomato sauce. It was barely edible. My wife ordered the chicken and prawn curry which was a bit better but by far from the best curry. The rice was tasteless cheap parboiled rice and on top of it my wife sambal was off. We sent it back and it was never replaced. We were left extremely disappointed. There are far better curry places to go to like Thava restaurant. Never again.
The hotel reception is beautiful! It's much smarter than we anticipated. The playground is perfect for younger kiddies. The oysters were nice and big, but badly priced either. The main course Tiger prawns were more like queen prawns though. Bathrooms were clean. At the end of the evening they brought a delicious birthday chocolate brownie and sang to me. Loved it!
My first visit to the hotel and I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the fact that I could "build" my own breakfast, which was tasty. Prices are reasonable. Will definitely visit again.
Great meal on the terrace with no worries on social distancing.
Ballito's best kept secret with good old fashioned family type hospitality
Absolutely the best curries and splendid sea views. One of our favorite places and we visit this "Old School" Hotel regularly
Photo taken on lovely stormy day
Went to salt rock hotel for lunch today, and with it being pensioners day i do understand that it was busy, however service was very slow, i went with my mom and my toddler. My food came first and then about 15min later my son food came out, i finished my food and my boy and my mom food was still not on the table! She finally recieved it about 45min after i had gotten mine. Her chicken fillet was bland and and she didn't enjoy it at all. I asked the waiter for a glass of water and recieved some warm tap water. Finally after asking him so many time's for our bill we got it, i paid cash for the bill and asked him to please bring me my change back, after waiting about 15min for my change i asked around for my waiter and nobody could find him at all. I was late for a appointment so i couldn't wait any longer for my money. He ended up taking about R80 of what i asked back for!
Popped in for a breakfast on an off chance, good service from the outset and good food at amazing value. Took a walk around the property after breakfast and the deck and platform options to relax, eat, drink and view the sea are impressive. We will be back.
Good evening.
We went to Salt rock hotel restaurant on 30 April 2021. First of all. The service was the best the greatest waiter ever and here name is Lulu. She was very nice. Second of all. The food was nice and delicious.
Thank you very much and Lulu must keep up the good work!
I love this hotel, quick private access to the beach and tidal pool. Excellent food especially the curries and burgers. Big open spaces on premises where you can sit and watch the ocean, also nice more private spots where you can sit in peace and quiet.
Convenience store, pharmacy and laundromat about 50m from the main gate.
Such a great experience! The rooms all have a sea view. Such a treat for somebody from Gauteng. The accomodation is great, but the real gem is the dining experience. Their prawn curry is full of flavour and taste. The calamari is genuinely the best I have ever had. Sipping cocktails on the terrace while admiring the ocean is an unbeatable experience at this hotel.
