The Galley Beach Bar & Grill Seafood Restaurant

The people are very friendly. There is a wonderful atmosfere. THE FACT THAT THEY ACCOMIDATE OUR DOG and also have a menu for her.was something out of this WORLD.we love the place and the food IS! Very good!

Very nice atmosphere with great sea views. There is a bar as well as indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were pleasant and friendly, service was relatively fast. The food is good, portions are a bit small and pricing is comparatively higher than your franchised restaurants. Overall a pleasant experience.

Waiter blamed poor Turnaround times on staff being unpaid for last 2 months -?

Calamari steak was tender though bland. Prawns were tasty.
Hake fish was too boney.

Also overheard other patrons experiencing same disappointment.

Terible service. And they served us flat coke twice even after we returned it they brought it back to us. We cancelled the food order and left.

Disappointed from what it used to be. Waited over an hour for food, seafood platter tasteless, Greek salad no olives, not worth the price and will not return again after so many years.

Food quality is average, a bit to the expensive site compare to Ocean Basket right next door where less price and more quality of food. Requested ciders drinks, but was forced to get what they have like a small glass of red wine at R 40 per glass. Next time will go to Ocean Basket. Poor service.

The service was really good. Our waitress was friendly and checked up on us regularly.
The Galley has one of the best views, so no complaints in that department.
Food was really average for the price. We had 2 seafood platter for ones. The portions were slightly on the smaller side, and the freshness of the fish was questionable. I'd rather spend a bit more at the competing restaurants, and feel like I at least got pay I paid for.
They also didn't have squid heads with our course this time. The waitress said they didn't have stock.
The restaurant didn't offer any discount, or give something else in its place.

Was there for a work lunch/meeting.
The place is just great. Nice, fun vibe, best view (right at the beach)

I ordered a seafood platter for 1 I had to get a magnfying glas to find the 4 prawns same with the calamari. The fish was nice but the chips tasted if it was made the fday before

Beautiful views, delicious cocktails and fresh seafood! I would definitely be back.
Service is slow, so it's not the place to go for a hurried dinner/lunch, just sit and chill.

Really nice location, unfortunately probably the worst meal I think I have ever had. I had the calamari and it was so bland, tasteless and cold when it arrived. Sorry to say, but I would rather go without food than visit there again.

I went in to the place to make a reservation. Kitchen unfortunately closes at 19: 00, because of curfew. I decided not to book, because it looked more like a pub. My kids went later to have drinks.

We have been going to Ballito for years, the galley have absolutely breathtaking views. However they allways have stock issues and half thier menu cannot be ordered.

Great views of the bay. Fresh food was served by the friendly waiters and waitresses. They even had blankets when it got chilly.
